Our CEO has an iPhone and an iPad. Everytime he is at the Baltimore Washington Airport (BWI) he is unable to send or recieve email over 4G or wifi. Everything else seems to work just fine over wifi or 4G LTE. Has anyone ever seen anything similar? is this malware?
Both devices are on Verizons 4G LTE network. Both devices do have some of the same APPS installed. Can this be a case of him connecting to a rogue wifi network of a hacker that may have installed malicious code on his devices when he connected? That would explain why only his devices have the same exact issue only at BWI airport.Something similar I've experienced. I was once having to use a AT&T hotspot and the iPad simply refused to access my mail via the mail app. But if I used safari I could get it. So the internet was working, but my supposition is that something with the hotspot's firewall messes with mail exchange.
next time your boss is at BWI, do you guys have a web interface? (for example if I wanted to access my work mail I could get them to set it up via the mail app and exchange, or I could go to a certain web address and access my mail that way via safari)
He could try using safari and the web interface if you have it.
If it's something in the hotspot's firewall I doubt it's anything that can be changed. -

Just turning off Cloud will not prevent him from turning it back on.
Rignt now, if he uses the App store, iTunes thinks it's talking to me.First, turn off iMessage, FaceTime & delete the iCloud account, while your sim is still in the phone. Then: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings. Give it to your grandson & he gat then set it up as he wants.
Important your turn iMessage & FaceTime off to disassociate the phone from your Apple ID. Apple "claims" to have fixed this with iOS 6.0, but until I can absolutely confirm such, I still recommend you turn all of that stuff off first. -

She should not sync her phone to a different iTunes library. Once solution is to set up Home Sharing, then in iTunes on her computer drag and drop the music from your library to hers. Then she can sync this music from her own iTunes library to her phone. (She will need to authorize her computer for the Apple ID(s) used to purchase any purchased music in order to sync it to her phone.) With AT&T it's ridiculously easy.
Create backups for each device
Log out of iCloud Apple ID
Erase all content and settings
Power off the devices
Change the SIM
Power on the device
Configure with the appropriate Apple ID
Finally, dial 611 to let AT&T know what iPhone should answer to what number. -

Ok so I see a lot of answers on here that may help but not sure and Im afraid to try with out getting better info so here goes:
My iPhone and my wifes Iphone are both on the same itunes account this worked fine until the IOS5 update. She updated her phone to IOS5 I have not in fear of crossing paths so to speak. Now when she sends imessages to people it shows up under my name or email instead of hers big problem. to add to the situation I got an ipad for Xmas and like a dope I went and plugged it in. Now it is synced to the apple ID both her phone and my phone are. Not working well because I am now getting all her text messages in imessage on my ipad.
So question is how do I keep my iPhone and iPad under my Apple ID but create and Apple ID for her and move everything over?? And please explain in as easy terms as possible not an itunes master yet. P.S. Im working on a PC.
Thank you in advance.I created two iTunes Library on the computer. How to do this, while holding shift and open iTunes, it will pop up a window asking you to choose a library or create a new library. Create a new library. Give it a name diffirent then you original one, like "wife". Then you still use the same iTunes account login and password. So you are still sharing all your iTunes purchases and the two device synchronize to two diffirent "library"! Note: in your wife account you will have to link all the music to your original music folder. In the "apps" tab now you can select (check mark) the apps that she needs on her device and you can do the same for your device.
IMPORTANT: after you have done the library, connect her device and sync, choose all the settings she likes and make a backup. After, eject her device and close iTune. Holding shift, re-open iTunes and choose your original library ( which it should be the other name then the one you gave to your wife) and now connect your device and synch it. Then go in the "apps" tab and select the apps you want and apply that. Synch again and do a backup.
From now on, remember to always hold shift when starting iTunes and select the library that matches the device.

Can't send email over EDGE from hosted gmail domain. Works fine over WIFI
I'm trying to send email from my google apps hosted doman over EDGE network.
I'm using port 587, SSL, authentication: password.
Works fine over WIFI but edge network rejects it every time.
Any ideas?

BenI'm running into the exact same issue. However, I am running my own mail server and not going through Gmail. On wi-fi, everything works fine. On Edge, I receive the error message indicating that the server is not responding, unable to connect to server, etc. I spoke to Apple support and they just walked me through the settings and said that they did not know what was wrong and suspected there is something wrong with the phone and wanted me to take it to the retail store to have them look at it and possibly send it in for repair. When I spoke to ATT they said that they are not experiencing any disruptions in the Edge network and that they also suspect it is the phone. I personally do not believe it is a defective phone. I upgraded my phone a couple of days ago the 1.1.2 firmware and within 24 hours later I started having this problem. I also tried setting up a connection to my .mac account and experienced the exact same thing there, so I know it is not isolated to my mail server. Funny thing is, I can access the internet over the Edge network just fine, so this has something to do with either the mail ports being blocked somehow within the Edge network or has to do something with the Mail Application on the iPhone which is not recognizing or not able to connect through the establised Edge connection. Maybe there is some sort of firewall on the iPhone that is blocking those ports? If anyone from Apple or ATT is listening, please investigate! I do not want to mail my phone in for repair when it is a perfectly good phone and may be able to be fixed with another firmware update.

I would do a transfer of purchases from the phone and not sync. If you sync then it will want to start over and sync music that is on the MacBook Pro. I'm tired of wasting battery on my iPhone 4 to listen to music, so I wanted to use my old iPhone 3GS as an iPod. I read you had to have a sim card inserted in the phone, regardless if it's activated. So I put the old one inside, but when I connect it to my computer, it won't charge, or sync with iTunes. It's definitely not my charger because both of my phones charge in a wall outlet, and my iPhone 4 charges through the computer. Just not the iPhone 3GS.... I'm going on vacations with long car rides and would like to use this. Help please!

The password is set on the WiFi router providing the service, by the owner of the network to prevent unwanted "guests" accessing the network. The only way to know it is to ask the owner permission to use the network. Otherwise, you have to find a free WiFi hotspot that doesn't require a password.
