When you post for help, please tell us which MacOS X you have installed.
Install the appropriate combo update ...
For v10.6 Snow Leopard > Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1
For v10.7 Lion > OS X Lion Update 10.7.3 (Client Combo)
Then restart your Mac. That will reinstall the App Store for you.
See if you can download an app.

So my home button stopped working due to water damage. I put it in the microwave(for real no joke) so the water can evaporate. 2 seconds in and the screen sparked blue and now its not working any suggestions on helping me fix it?

Hey Peter, I think your missing the big picture. Your iPod is past repair, corrosion, is a real issue with water damage, but your problem took a turn for the worst when you attempted to use a microwave to dry it out. I see you found another post from July 2012, where someone else tried to nuke there iPod, and got the same results you have-- a dead iPod. The blue sparks, burnt smell and still not working all confirms one thing... Your iPod is not repairable. What the water didn't damage the microwave did. By attempting to microwave, you for all intensive purposes hit your iPod with an EMP, (Electro-Magnetic Pulse), in the first split second you overloaded the workings of your iPod and burned it up! There is is no way of known which circuits and components have been damaged and to what extend. You may be able to get a refurbished iPod, but it is unclear that Apple will allow it, because of the type of damage, it's not like this was an accident, you deliberately put it in the microwave in a misguided attempt to dry it out. when the microwave turned on it hit ever chip, diode, capacitor etc. with more power than it was designed to handle, in short; you baked it, burned it up, fried it, call it what you want, but it's not going to work! To attempt to repair is a meaningless gesture, (and probably will cost more than it's worth), chalk this one up as bad ideas 101-- learn from it, move on, and get yourself a new iPod. IPhone 4s is turned on, but the screen is unresponsive. Reset did not fix problem.

My iPhone 4s is completely charged and was turned off last night, but the screen is unresponsive when I try to turn it on. The screen has a tan background with pale skinny stripes with a black fuzzy frame. I've already tried a reset, but I can't seem to get it to work. Also, before I turned it off, the screen would shake near the bottom when I had certain apps open. Not sure how to fix this, either. I've only had the phone for a week...Help?

Snow Leopard is a paid upgrade. http://support.apple.com/kb/sp575 Call Apple to buy Snow Leopard. Then, make a backup, insert the DVD and upgrade. When it finishes, open  > Software Update

Have a look in the iTunes settings on the devices tab. When there is a lock next to the date your backup is protcted by a passwort. Than there is no way to get it exept you find the password.

After recent upadte to firefox 9.0 beta 5 the screen becomes black for most part. Its like the pages and everything is working perfectly but it becomes black and flickers a lot.

I m using win 7 home premium 64 bit edition. Yesterday night i updated the firefox to the latest 8.0.1 version and as soon as I open the window parts of the screen becomes black and starts flickering a lot. Final Cut is a separate, higher end video editor. The pro version of iMovie.
Give iPhoto a look at for creating the slideshow. It's easy to assemble the photos in an album in iPhoto, put them in the order you want and then make a slideshow of them. You can select from various themes and transitions between slides and add music from your iTunes library.
When you have the slidshow as you want use the Export button at the bottom of the iPhoto window and export with Size = Medium or Large.
Save the resulting Quicktime movie file in your Movies folder.
Next, open iDVD, choose your theme and drag the QT movie file into the menu window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Then follow this workflow to help assure the best qualty video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it. If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
The reason I suggest iPhoto is that I find it much easier to use than iMovie (except for the older iMovie 6 HD version). Personal preferences showing here.

There is no exchange program. If the damage was caused by the user, it also wouldn't be covered by any warranty, so your best bet is to try to sell it as is or get it fixed and then sell it or keep using it. Some resellers will accept trade ins - I know this company accepts trade ins, but it may just be Macs, not iDevices - you can check though:
