I want to hide/secure/privatize applications on my iPhone/iPod Touch.

I need to hide/secure applications on my devices. Specifically, I use the Facebook application and I do not want my girlfriend to peruse it if she picks up my device. I do not want to use illegitimate software.
settings --> general --> restrictions only has Apple apps to restrict.

BTW, I know I can logout of FB application but that is just not the direction I want to go.

thanks, it's good to get a reply, but why do you keep going on about windows? Agreed, there is no mention that Tremor runs on iOS. So far this is the only reason given that it cannot run on iOS. You can read and I can read.
By putting the question to the community I was hoping for something like: the app you want is here-link, or the app you want cannot be written because technical-reason.
From a words point of view it would seem to be open for any ios developer to support DMG files.

When you go to the Google Maps app on the iPod does it correctly find your location? The iPod's locations service uses the location of the a nearby wifi router to locate te iPod. However, not all routers are in Apple's database and as of yet nobody here knows of a way to add routers to the database.

If any of you are like me, I had one single AppleID under MobileMe. Under my AppleID I had two additional Email addresses, one for my wife and one for her Mother. Each used their individual email accounts on their login on the home Mac and on their individual Iphones.
In order for them to not lose their email acounts when mobileMe goes away and/or you move your appleID acount from MobileMe to iCloud, you simply need to beaware of the folowing. Have each person with an email address under your AppleID MobileMe go to www.me.com; enter their email account and password in the corresponding fields. However, don't press the login button. Instead press the sentence under the login fields that says something to the effect of "do you want to move/migrate to iCloud. Follow the prompts from there.
In essence what Apple has done--albeit not communicated anywhere--is that they automatically created AppleIDs for each of those additonal email addresses you have/had under MobileMe. Therefore, use that email and password after moving from MobileMe to iCloud and your good to go.

Best database format for iPhone / iPod Touch Application?

Hello Adobe Community, I hope you can help me again with this one:
I plan to develop an iPhone / iPod Touch application that reads from an offline database (basically a big list of text data). Which format should / could I use? XML? Any other? And how would the XML be embedded / included in the App?

. As Apple said in June, iOS 7 is not compatible with the 4G iPod.
All the iOS devices compatible (iPhone 4 and later, iPad 2 and later, and 5G iPod touch) with iOS 7 have at least 512 MB of memory (RAM). The 4G iPod only has 256 MB

IPhone/iPod Touch: How to hide footer bar in website?

Hi all,
as you can guess I'm a newbie on iPhone things so I start off with hopefully a simple question:
If I open a website inside of iPhone/iPod Touch Safari, is it possible to hide the footer bar there (by footer bar i mean the lowest bar containing the back/forward, add, favorites, new page icons)? And if yes, how do I do it?
I ask because I know it's possible to hide the header bar (address bar) and I heard since firmware version 2.0 hiding the footer bar should be possible, too.

No supported calendar application in iTunes for iPod Touch

Hello everyone,
Right now I'm having trouble syncing my calendar on my iPod touch. I'm using iTunes 7.4.3 and I have Outlook 2003 installed on my computer, but iTunes says "No supported calendar application can be found." in the Calendar section on the info tab. I've tried restoring my Touch several times, in addition to removing / reinstalling iTunes and Apple Mobile Device Support several times, and now I'm at a loss.
The weird thing is, I had a 1st gen nano hooked up to this computer as well, and for that iPod, iTunes could detect Outlook just fine. I have no idea why this is happening with my iPod Touch. Any help?

I am facing your problem too. My iTunes seems do not recognize my Outlook 2002 SP3. I am using Traditional Chinese Edition on WinXP SP2 T.Chinese platform. Is it the cause of this problem? Hope that anyone can help us.

Transfer applications and settings from iPod touch to iPhone

Currently, I have an iPod Touch. I have bought applications and I have configured some applications on it.
I am quite interested to buy the last version of the iPhone. But before buying it, I would like to know if it is possible to transfer the applications and the settings from the iPod Touch to the iPhone.
If it is possible, do you know how to do it? Restoring the back up of the iPod? I don't options about that in iTunes.

First, be sure all your applications are included in your iTunes library. (iTunes > File > Transfer purchases from XXX's iPod Touch).
The application data is not included in the app, but in your ipod Touch backup file.
You can upgrade one device with the backup from a different type of device; most settings will transfer to the new device. See this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414

I am looking to buy a new iPod Touch but am wondering, can the applications I purchased for my iPhone be used on the iPod touch or do I have to buy them again?

As long as you are syncing to the same computer, yes. I have 2 iPhone 3Gs and an iPod Touch, all with the same apps (purchased only once).

Iphone - ipod touch Remote application search result limitation

I found a very annoying limitation in the search facility of the remote application for the iphone. It limits the number of the results to eight elements per type (Album, Artist,Song). It displays the first eight results per category, arranged alphabetically.It renders the whole remote application useless for me. There is not even a "display more" button in the end of the result list so that you can get the rest related elements. Am I doing something wrong here? Have you noticed that? Having a Masters in Human computer interaction I find this problem in functionality unacceptable and I wonder why there are no other posts indicating that.

I'm having the same problem. IT only works when you open iTunes again and have remote open and atively searching for the library does it reconnect. I don't know of any other way. But Apple needs to devise away where we can tell iTunes to easily search for remotes again or to automatically keep looking for remotes every so often.

Installing an application on an original iPod Touch for the first time.

I just helped a client to buy and upgrade a client's original iPod Touch model to the latest iOS 3.1 since Epocrates Rx (http://www.epocrates.com/products/iphone/ ) since he bought it on his old Palm Treo 680. However, installing it detected multiple devices access. I assume it is because of iPod Touch and MacBook Pro. Also, it makes him sign into his iTunes account but his login fails. His account information looks correct.
Are we missing something? Apple is making this is complex and confusing!

Wanted: iPhone/iPod Touch Maps bookmark folders

Is there any way to create folders to organize my bookmarked locations in Maps? II want to organize them to reduce the amount of scrolling I currently have to do. I'd love to be able to group places by city or activity. Wouldn't it be great to be able to group all the locations you visited on vacation in one folder and then be able to e-mail them to friends and family? If folders can be created for Safari bookmarks, why not for Maps?
And while I'm asking, is there a way to ship the bookmarks to Google Maps or, better yet, Google Earth?
