I want to import feeds from IE9

I have been able to import all of my other info - bookmarks, history, etc - from IE (for the most part, I like Firefox better than IE - and I have been a long time user of IE) but I miss having my feeds so readily accessible - I really don't want to have to go and pull them all up - I have so many!! Thanks!

Click on "Show All Bookmarks" then go to 'Import and Backup' tab.

I want to import bookmarks from Internet Explorer 8, but the import link under file in Firefox is ghosted out and doesn't allow me access. How can I access the Firefox import function?

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

  • I want to import info from iViewPro

I want to import info from iView MediaPro3, a similar product with a few years of history, yet I see no references at all to it. My guess is that LR cannot import any info (labels, ratings, keywords, etc) from it. Does any one know anything about importing from non-Adobe cataloging programs?
    Thanks,
    MichaelGG

Personally, I modify the originals. What's the big deal - if you have virgin backups? You do, don't you? iView uses the Nikon libraries, I haven't (yet) had a problem with tens of thousands of images, and I have backups. But that's your call.
Another option might be to use it as an opportunity to go DNG. You'd leave the DNG converter running overnight (!) and it would duplicate the structure of your NEFs. Obviously you'll need lots of disc space (about 2/33 again). Then make a copy of your iView catalogue and run a script that points the records at the DNGs (pretty easy as the folder structure is identical). You then tell iView to sync its metadata - it's documented - though its catalog sets and its people and custom fields won't come over. It's not a hard job (on Windows anyway) to script people and custom fields over to keywords - see my comments in
    this thread.

    * Make sure that you not run Firefox in [[Private Browsing]] mode
    * In Private Browsing mode some menu items are disabled (grayed) and features like visited links are disabled and not showing
    * You are in Private Browsing mode if you see "Tools > Stop Private Browsing", possibly grayed
    * You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
    * To see all History settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting <b>Firefox will: Use custom settings for history</b>
    * Uncheck: [ ] "Automatically start Firefox in a private browsing session"
It usually works better if you export the Favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.
    * Export the favorites in IE to an HTML file (bookmarks.html): File > Import and Export
    * Import the HTML file in Firefox: Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML: From File

How do I import bookmarks from Safari to Firefox?

Import and Backup is the third (last) button on the toolbar in the Bookmarks Manager (Library) that looks like a star.<br />
Other platforms show the text label, but on Mac you only see toolbar icons.

  • I am wanting to import photos  from my imac to my ipad.  the help page directed me to open the photo button under the device listing on itunes.  There is not a photo button and I am connected to the computer.  It does show buttons for books, movies, etc.

I want to import photos from iphoto to my ipad.  The help button said to press the photo button under the device list.  There isn't a photo button shown.  Could it be hidden?

If you connect and select your iPad on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes, on the right-hand side of iTunes (not on the left) there should be a series of tabs, one of which should be Photos - if you select that tab you can then select which photo folders or albums/events to sync to the iPad. There is a bit more info on this page. You will need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad - synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync.

  • I WANT TO IMPORT MAIL FROM OUTLOOK TO TALKTALK

i want to direct mail from outlook to talktalk.

Do you mean Outlook, the application included with Microsoft Office, or Outlook Express, the application included with Windows XP, or Outlook.com, the new incarnation of Hotmail/Windows Live Mail?
Does talktalk have documentation on importing mail? Or on forwarding your old address to your new address?
I suspect Firefox is not at the center of the process in any case.

  • I want to import bookmarks from Safari but there is no import choice in the file menu

my firefox does not have the option to import my bookmarks, even though in Help it says it does. What do I do?

    Exporting bookmarks from Safari
Go to File->Export Bookmarks. Safari saves your bookmarks in an HTML file. Save the HTML file to the Desktop or any other location of your choice.
    Importing bookmarks to Firefox
Go to Bookmarks->Show all bookmarks. This will open up the Bookmarks Library.
    Click Import and Backup...
Select Import Bookmarks from HTML.. from drop down menu.
Locate your HTML file exported from Safari.
You can use Safari Bookmark Exporter to export bookmarks to an HTML file,if exporting to the HTML file is not supported by Safari.
