Hi i have 4gb in my mac.I want to increase to 8 gb

The 2 places I’ve seen recommended most to buy reliable RAM are below. I have purchased RAM several times from Other World Computing and have always been very satisfied with the product and service. They have on-line instructions on how to replace the RAM. OWC has also tested RAM above what Apple states is the maximum. I now have 6GB installed on a machine supposedly limited to 4 GB.

This is a customer forum, and not Apple folks. If you wish official or formal Apple assistance, please call Apple directly or visit your local Apple store, or check directly with an Apple reseller.
I don't immediately see a MacBook5,4 around, but I do see a Apple MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.53 GHz 15" model MC118LL/A Mid-2009, and that configuration does reportedly support up to 8 GB of memory per the Apple Specs.
Apple might not stock or offer memory upgrades that far back (but do ask them), though I'd expect various third-party memory providers will likely still have some 4 GB 1066 MHz SO-DIMM DDR3 memory sticks around.
But if yours is really a MacBook5,4 model here — the closest I can find is a MacBook5,2 — then ignore this.

You can leave the existing RAM in their current slots and add compatible modules in the empty slots. For best performance, add two of teh same size. Our 2010 iMac 21" shipped with 4GB RAM---two 2GB modules in two of the four slots. I added two 2GB modules to the empty slots and now have 8 GB RAM.
Be sure to order RAM from a trusted Mac-savvy RAM vendor. Some vendors thing a Mac is a hamburger. For over a decade I've bought all our Mac RAM (and we have 18 Macs in teh family!) from one vendor:

Well, technically no, CPU will remain the same speed. But having 8 gig will give you some room for memory hungry apps and run better with multiple apps.
Adding a SSD drive will give a second life to your macmini. I did mine a few weeks ago (240 gb SSD ) and also went from 2 to 4 gig ram. It's like having a new computer!

I've done my due dilligance by searching and reading all discussions related to this matter- but I still have a question.
I've decided on the 13" Air, 15, 256gb. My last decision is the ever so debated 4gb vs 8gb.
From ALL of the discussions I've read (here and elsewhere online) 4gb seems to be enough for the average person, and some have even tested the capacity by opening 16 applications and programs. Most of the responders are also saying 4gb is enough "if you want to keep the computer 2-3 years". Well- what if I'd like mine to last 5-7 years? (I'm working on a 2006 dying MacBook Pro currently with 2gb memory and a 100gb harddrive).
This is a HUGE purchase for me, as I do not have money to spend often on replacing big ticket items. I'd like to NOT spend the extra $136 unless I need to, to make this machine last longer than 3 years.

Since cost seems to be an issue for you, between the 128 and the 256,....go with the 128 and the 8 GIG of memory,.....such as you have detailed, it would be a better choice given what you have well explained what you want out of you computer. Just pack around a super slim HD 500GB drive in the laptop bag with your air,..they’re only 7mm thick HD, much thinner than the AIR.
I have an 13” I5 128 gig, and have nearly ever APP imaginable installed, and still have 82 Gig of wiggle room for editing, and other space needed for work.
IF ASKED which is the better upgrade choice for the money,….256 upgrade, or the 8GIG of memory, most here will agree that it’s the 8gig of memory.
HD space is extremely cheap (except inside the AIR, its SSD). If you don’t mind packing around a tiny HD, 65$ will get you 1TB, or 500GB in a superslim HD

1. I switch it do i need to move the My SIM card first to the new one, and sync it on iTunes.

sorry, I thought you meant you would take your sim card from your old iphone & move it to the new iphone, sync on itunes, enter ph# if necessary etc. You shouldn't need to use a brand new sim card

Macbook air 4gb vs 8gb?

Hi, i wanted to post this question because I want to buy a macbook air , 11 inch, i5, but i don't know if is better to buy it with 4gb ram or with 8gb.
The thing is, that there is a offer in a shop of my city and they give me like $100 in coupons buying the macbook with 4gb.
The price of the macbook in the shop is the same price as the macbook here with education discount and also have the cupons.
But i'm student so I can buy here the macbook with education discount, and if I add the 8gb ram, the price raises only about $100 but i don't get any cupons xD
So what do you think is better?
I'm university student, so I use the computer for writing, for excel and powerpoint, internet and email and maybe I will need to use some statistics software like spss...

Having a lot of RAM isn't necessary for a normal high school or college student that's just going to be using their computer for word documents, powerpoints, or just surfing the web. I actually have a Mac Air with 2GB of RAM and it's from late 2010. I use my compter for the same things you are planning to use yours for and I have never had a problem with it in the three years I've had it.
The minimum amount of RAM you can get on the Air today is 4GB just incase you were wondering and I think that's plenty for you. If you decided to start using your Mac for photo or video editing then you might want to upgrade to the 8GB RAM. You can actually go to an Apple Store and have them install more RAM for very little money. I think it's under $100 but I couldn't be sure.
There's no such thing as having too much RAM because basically the more RAM you have the better your computer is but 4GB is plenty considering 2GB is plenty for me and it sounds like your planning to do the same thing as me when you get your computer.

Hi!
The Equium M70 supports only SD cards up to 1GB so SDHC cards will not work.
You can find this information in the user manual. I have checked it and so I know this.
If you dont have the user manual you can download it on the Toshiba website.

1. Introduction
Greetings, today I am going to discuss the positive and negatives aspects about the
upgrade that many are tempted to perform, before during and after the purchase of an Apple
Personal Computer i.e. MacBook, MacBook Pro, iMac and so on.
I am going to use my first and recently bought MacBook Pro as a "guinea pig" today
by performing and reviewing the upgrade from 4GB of Random-Access Memory (RAM) to 8GB.
I hope you all enjoy it and that this review is useful to you as a guide to aid your decision
to upgrade or not.
Well let's get started shall we?
2. "Cost-Benefit Analysis"
We all know how expensive Apple Computers are for the vast majority of the population,
however I am sure if you are here you do appreciate, like me, the reasons why such cost,
but this is another discussion. Let me focus.
The first option we have right off the bat is to do the upgrade as we purchase the machine,
which is offered to you when you order online, through the phone or buy it directly from an
Apple Store.
I did consider upgrading directly with Apple for the obvious reasons but unfortunately
I wasn't able to this time, the £160.00* upgrade price was a little too high for me, not overpriced,
just a little too high for me. (* or $200.00 USD)
So here is what I have done: I have acquired the part from a third part company which
offered the so called upgrade for £59.99. So I decided to give it a go, before you ask my
warranty will not be voided as RAM and any user replacable parts DO NOT void your
equipment warranty as stated by Apple®.
As you can see the specifications of the product match perfectly what is already inside
a MacBook Pro. But obviously still won't be as good as the 8GB from Apple.
Now to the benefits. rest assured that this upgrade will not be noticed by all of you, and
what I mean by that is: If you only use your Mac for browsing the web or office suites, you do
not need this upgrade, however if you do heavy video or image processing or anything that
requires that little bit extra, you will notice the difference in performance baring in mind that
this model of MacBook Pro has no dedicated graphics card therefore upgrading is a fantastic
way to avoid "paging" and I think for 60 bucks that is a bargain.
3. Features
RAM is constantly used by the system, obviously, serving as temporary storage and
working space for the operating system and its applications.
You may or may not know that most computers use something called "virtual memory"
is a method that consists of a portion of the system's hard drive being set aside for use as
a paging file that extends ram capacity. I.e. 4GB of RAM + 1GB of Paging file gives a system
a total of 5GB of memory available. Obviously upgrading from 4GB to 8GB will enable you to
have more memory without "sacrificing" a part of your hard drive.
RAM is used in numerous others ways on a computer.

I did not notice any differences, maybe some miliseconds more or less.

        Applications it's a hard one to speak about, it seems to me that the system is coping more easily with tasks that require that little extra. Video and Photo editing and so on.
4.0 Conclusion
         Is it worth it? The truth is for some people yes, for some definitely NOT. If you are looking for that little extra performance just to feel good about it, definitely do it! However if all you do is browse the web and the odd word processing and a few presentations a month, it may not be that beneficial for you. I believe that if you truly want some serious performance, look for the power processing first i.e. Get a 15'' or a 17''; even though they are a bit more expensive they are recommended for video editing and tasks that require high speed and performance.
          In terms of where to buy it from, I found that buying from the third party company Crucial was no different than what would have been from Apple itself, it is EXACTLY the same memory, I compared them both side a side and all the specifications and manufacturers where the same on the 4GB and the 2GB unit.
          Few things though guys:
Please be sure to use a good quality Phillips #00 Screwdriver, you DO NOT want to damage those screws and you want to have ease on opening the machine.
Please only install quality RAM.
Please discharge yourself of any static by wearing a Static Bracelet or touching a metal surface inside the computer.
Please be sure to turn OFF the computer "Shut Down", I repeat do NOT put it to sleep, SHUT IT DOWN.
Please be patient; do not rush things.

Adding ram to mid-2009 Macbook Pro - 4gb vs 8gb?

I want to add ram to my mid-2009 Macbook Pro. It currently has 2gb ram. Any thoughts of whether I should upgrade 4gb or 8gb ram? It has a 2.26ghz intel core 2 processor. I only use the computer for internet and the occasional document editing.

If your needs are that modest, then 4 GB is fine. However, Mavericks is designed to use as much RAM as is available, and so more RAM is always better.
If I were you, I would put 4GB of RAM in, and then buy an SSD to replace the hard drive. You will be surprised how much faster it will be! It's the best way to extend the useful life of a older Mac.

The most reliable sources for Mac compatible RAM are OWC and Crucial. Macs seem to be selective with RAM so some brands will not work. Make certain that you get RAM with the exact specifications that apply to your MBP.

I went to icloud but it only govers me options to increase storage from my iPhone or a synced computer (mac or PC).

If the phone is offline there is no way to track it or send a message to it. You can place it in lost mode to lock it and send it a message (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmfc0f0165), but this will not take place until the phone goes back online, if it ever does. If it does, you will get an email informing you.

Smartform : Main window : Want to increase the size of main window

In my smartform my Main window is fixed after four windows(2 + 2) but only in first page.
Now my requirement is there in second page i am only showing two windows out of four and in new vaccent space produced by two window i wanted to increase the height of window equal to 2 window in second page onwards.

You just need to change the UPPER and HEIGHT values for the MAIN window on the second and subsequent pages. Presumably, you have a different page definition for these pages? If that's not your question, then please re-phrase it.
