I want to install Flash in OS X 10.5.8

I have uninstalled the older version. Can't figure out which to install.

Flash Player 10.3.183.90 (Mac only) is the latest version that will work with 10.5.8 regardless of processor, but being as it's an intel, it can be upgraded to 10.6 for just $19.99 through Apple. THEN it'll run the latest Flash Player and a lot of other software that won't run on 10.5.

  • I want to install Flash on a computer with no internet access.  How do I do this?

I want to install Flash on a computer with no internet access.  When I tried to download, I got a message that Flash is already installed.  Yes, it is, on my PC.  I want it on my laptop, too.  How do I accomplish this?

Download the Adobe Flash Player offline FULL installer directly by right clicking one of the following links and selecting "Save target as" (IE), "Save Link As" (FIrefox) or "Download Linked File As" (Safari).
Flash Player 12.0.0.44 for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)

  • Want to install flash player

My computer was not playing any movies from the internet and it was asking for the flash player. I installed the flash player and it was very easy to install it, I installed it last week and eveything was back to normal. About two days later my computer was asking for the flash player again. I tried to install it again and it will not let me install it like it did last time. I went to the website and tried to install it and it kept taking me to the same screen, it would not install the flash palyer.  I contacted the customer service line and they walked me through the steps to witing this letter.
    Thanks

Hi, Thanks. We need to check and see what Flash files you have installed. Go to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash  Right click on the Flash folder and post back all files listed there.
Then in manage add ons, check all add ons for Shockwave Flash Object..ActiveX Control...Flash10e.ocx to see if it is listed and enabled. If it is not listed, or there is a different "Flash.....ocx listed, I need this info as well.
Are you using any other browser?
    Thanks,

  • I don't want to install flash. how can i get rid of the message telling me i need to install it?

the bar that comes down saying "additional plugins are required to display all the media on this page." i want to disable it. what do?

Did you get any help on this? From what I can see from surfing this site, it's a BUG that no one has offered a solution to. It sometimes happens after a 'reset' and going to ITunes does not offer a way to 'set up push notifications'.

  • How to watch flash video on safari/mac without install flash?

    Hi mac people,
i think many people are asking about this too, but i didn't find a true/info article to show you how,
so I ask again in here hopefully someone can give me an true answer!
I don't want to install flash due to security and some other disadvantage mentioned by other,
but video uploaded to Facebook still using flash, and youtube opened in safari, some video showed only 240p, 360p, 720p, it doesn't show 480p,1080p and 4k or 60fps version, but when I install bogle chrome, everything look fine, I get vey those option available, I heard google chrome has built in flash/sandboxed flash, not sure how it's work, but google famous at tracking so I don't want to use google chrome, so guys any way to use safari to view all those things?
    Thanks!!!

You do realize Google owns YouTube, correct?
Don't install Flash Player if you don't want to use it. It's a dead technology and the sooner people stop using it, the better. Most websites no longer require Adobe Flash Player.

  • Upgrading but not installing Flash with MSI

I have an environment of some 600 PCs running XP. A few have Flash installed, most do not. Those that have Flash installed are a variety of versions.
It's my intent to perform a Flash install using MSI and GPO, and that's (mostly) tested and working.
However, I don't want to install Flash anywhere it isn't already. The systems that do have Flash installed are effectively random across the organization, not matching up in any way to GPO.Doing that I want to use the MSI, so I can have it automatically install to the machine.
Is there a way to install/upgrade Flash only on those systems that already have Flash installed, and not install it elsewhere?
    Thanks

I don't know how to do that, although it sounds like a very good idea.
Have you seen the new 10.1 Admin Guide if it contains any suggestions: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashplayer/articles/flash_player_admin_guide.html ?
You will probably need to write some sort of script to test for a current FP installation before you proceed with the update.

  • Installing Flash manually on a Mac

I want to install Flash manually because the installer is asking for the (root) password.  I am admin on my computer so no root/sudo action should be necessary to install 3rd party software.  No other 3rd party software does that.
    1. I was able to extract the two files from the installation package and put them in /Libray/InternetPlugins but I was not able to decompress the FlashPlayerPlugin.lzma. How do I do it?
    2. More of a technical question. Since I am admin on my computer, I have "write" rights to /Library/InternetPlugins. So there is no apparent need for a password.  The system log reveals though that the installer is going to /var/folders, owend by root (that explains the need for a password).
My question is of course why is this needed.
    3/15/11 5:50:41 PM    authexec[1951]    executing /usr/sbin/chown
    3/15/11 5:50:41 PM    authexec[1952]    executing /bin/chmod
    3/15/11 5:50:43 PM    installer[1955]    Create temporary directory "/var/folders/zz/zzzivhrRnAmviuee+++++++++++/-Tmp-//Install.19551jllJW"
    3/15/11 5:50:48 PM    installer[1955]    Removing temporary directory "/var/folders/zz/zzzivhrRnAmviuee+++++++++++/-Tmp-//Install.19551jllJW"
(Even Microsoft tells you how to extract the plugin from the Silverlight installer and where to put it in case you don't want to run the installer and enter a root password).
    Thank you in advance

Thanks but that doesn't work either. I can follow that link and it downloads something but then i have the same problem.
It just won't install, because it tries to do it with a program called MATLAB.
I am not sure what program I should be using for it, as all the ones that I try do not work.
    Thanks for your help though.
How do i get someone from adobe to look into it?

  • Still can't install Flash On Vista w/FF

I have tried just about everything to get the new version of Flash to install.  I have used the Adobe uninstaller.  I have unstalled the plugins(I am using FF 3.6). I have disabled the plugin for getPlusPlus for Adobe 16263.   I have looked all over the website and forums trying to get this to work.  I have restarted my computer so many times I have lost count.  I have used the manual installer as well as the one on the download page.  I am going on four hours straight of trying  to make this work.  What do I do?
I am using Windows Vista Home premium 64bit.  I use Firefox exclusively.  I have Norton 360 installed.  I do not use Microsoft's User account management.  I have exited AdAware.  I don't usually disconnect from the internet or turn off my Norton.  I have cable broadband and I'm not sure I've ever turned it off.  I have the Java plugins  Java(TM) Platform SE 6 U18  6.0.10.7 & Java Deployment Toolkit 6.0.180.7.  I'm sure this is very scattered approach, sorry I'm not computer savvy and very frustrated by this point.  Any help would be appreciated.
Edit:  I opened IE just to see if I could get flash to install on it.  It did.  I really don't care for IE though and would like to go back to FF.

Hi MED401, Within the last 24 hours or so it appears that FF(Firefox) version 3.6 is causing problems. That is one thing
and it appears also with the 64bit system. Users are experiencing problems that they have not had before and at this time, the exact cause has not been determined.
First Adobe Flash Player does not support the 64bit system. However you can install Flash Player but you must use the 32bit system to do so.
Second, Norton is a problem as they have many components that even if you Disable it, it is still running in the background. Adobe has an advisory about it in the Troubleshooting guide here:
http://go.adobe.com/kb/ts_tn_19166_en-us  Keep in mind that you disconnect from the Internet BEFORE you Disable your Anti-Virus/Spyware program and Disable the Firewall. So you do not need this protection while off the Internet.
My suggestion would be that if you want to install Flash Player into the FF browser that you be willing to follow the procedures that many others have followed. These steps are for the purpose of having a clean Uninstall and to have the
best opportunity for a successful Install of the Adobe Flash Player.
You can view this thread and decide if you would like to follow it and if you have any questions, please ask.

  • Installing Flash on Win2K & IE5

We are developing a Flex web portal and have a client
refusing to upgrade their machines or their browsers. They are
running Win2K with IE5 (they also don't want to install flash, but
we told them they "have to" do that if they want our product).
The sys reqs for Flash 9 indicate that it supports IE5 on
Win2K. So I installed a vanilla Win2K and have set about trying to
install Flash 9. The getflashplayer download page wouldn't work at
all (IE gave me an error) so I had to search the support pages to
    find the installer package.
I've installed the Flash9 archive package (with installers
for everything) as well as the small "ActiveX" installer package.
Each of these packages runs quickly and indicates success.
Flash Player shows up in Windows Add/Remove Programs.
However, browsing to any flash enabled page fails to work and
the adobe page fails to recognize any version of flash installed.
I've modified the various security settings for IE to enable
ActiveX. I've uninstalled and rebooted between each attempt.
    I'm running Win2K version 5.00.2195 and IE5.00.2920.
Can somebody give me additional thoughts/suggestions? I want
to keep this box as vanilla as possible to replicate the client
situation, but I also need to know the bare minimum required to
actually install a functioning version of flash.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello belarm,
The online installer you mention is not for distributing in the manner you are attempting.  It is simply a shim installer that downloads and installs Flash Player silently in the background.
Based on the information provided,  you'll need to obtain a distribution license (free) to distribute Flash Player within your organization.  The Flash Player Administrator's Guide provides the information you need to license the Flash Player (chapter 1) and various options of distributing Flash Player (Chapter 3), as well as a myriad of other details on administering Flash Player within your organization.  The Guide is available at Adobe Flash Player Administration Guide for Flash Player 14 | Adobe Developer Connection.

  • Install Flash player behing a proxy

I'm on a wan that connect to internet by a proxy. I cannot
bypass this proxy, and when I want to install flash player on the
web page it download the activeX and start the process. But it stop
saying that it cannot authenticate. How could I install it. I need

I'm afraid this may not be easy or even possible; Flash Player is a browser add-on that is installed on the computer's system area.
What is your operating system & browser?

  • Need to Install flash player on iPad

    Hi,
I want to install  flash player on iPad .
But when i go on adobe site for downloading flash player it should say.
Flash Player is not available for your device.
Apple restricts use of technohlogies required by products like adobe@ Flash@  player.
Untill adobe eliminate restriction adobe not provide  flash player for iphone , ipad touch.
Can any one help me on this situation ? i want to run my applicaiton on iPad.
I think before that apple is agree to support flash player on ios devices.
    Thanks,
    Mohit.

Hi, with Packager for iPhone you can export your Flash Actionscript 3 app as a native iOS application so there is no need of Flash support on iPad.
I suggest you to start by reading some info about packager:
