When trying to upgrade and install OS X Mmavericks to my Macbook Pro as it started to install the computer stopped the install and now is stuck with the OS X Mavericks intall window showing and I can't get out of it or force quit? I can not do anything else because this is stuck with this window/install screen showing. I have tried everything to get back to my regular desktop. I do not want to wipe the drive because I have photos on it that I want to save. So if there is any way to bypass this installer and get back to my regular desktop I would greatly appreciate the help.

  • HT204384 After I installed Os X Mavericks in my Macbook Pro, it stops readding the SD cards. I used diferent brands of cards and got all the updates for the Mac, but the problem wasn't solved.

    Hi!
I made the update to Os X Mavericks and my MacBook Pro 13' is having some isues; the SD slot card is not readding the cards. Sometimes, when I have a couples of hours using the lap, when I open the finder or any file, there are only the name of the files, but not images and I can open then even if I selected. Then I need to restar the lap to open them.

    Reset PRAM.
Shut it down all the way.
Holding the Cmd+Opt+P+R keys, press the power button
Listen for the "startup chime" to sound three times, and release the keys.

  • How to install Operation X Maverick on a MacBook Pro w/ 2 accts?

If I have an administrator account and a secondary account with parental controls on my MacBook Pro, and I want to update to Operating System X Maverick, do I need to install it in both accounts or just on the administrator account? Thanks!

No. There aren't any complications associated with having multiple accounts on the computer.

  • I want to install Windows XP on my new Macbook Pro

I want to install Windows XP pro on my new macbook pro.  I followed bootcamp assistant until i got the driver disc saying I need windows 7.  oopppss i dont want windows 7.  Can I still use Windows xp?  I have only one professional software package that works perfectly using Boot Camp and XP. I don't use Windows otherwise.  I think is is the 32 versus 64 bit issue which i don't need.  Help please.

I assume I can save $100 by upgrading before Apple drivers.
Display mirroring is use by me to let my Client watch and change home design without breathing on my neck, lol.
My fear is upgrading and losing that option.  I have a 52" monitor they can watch on.  XP updated one day an used the 2nd monitor for some TV addon without permission.  They later fixed that problem but it cost me 20 lost days i don't want to repeat.  One of my iMac is running XP with the old drivers perfectly.  So apple Boot camp assistant has no work around to use my 7 bought copies of XP pro.
I guess i will try upgrade and cross my fingers.
    Thanks again!

  • It doesn't want to reinstall OS X Mavericks to my MacBook Pro after restoring it.

I have a macbook pro (2011) I had already installed OS X Mavericks but I changed the date and time so when I was going to change it again it would´t let me. So I restored it to factory settings but when Im going to reinstall OS X Mavericks it won't let. Because it says: your computer´s eligibility will be verified with Apple, so I click continue but then it says: an error occurred while preparing the installation. Try running this application again.

    juandatorr,
so your 2011 MacBook Pro does not currently have Mavericks installed — is that right? If so, which version of OS X is currently installed on it? Have you been able to correct the date and time under the version of OS X that is currently installed?

  • Can't install OS X Mavericks, Ive a MacBook Pro "Late 2011"

When I click install app for OS X Mavericks in the App Store, the button changes to downloading but in the launchpad where the mavericks logo icon appears, shows a progress bar with maybe 1% complete and thats all, it never changes even after 3 hours.
    Any suggestions to  fix this?

Check to make sure the download hasn't paused. You should be able to do this in the dock. If it hasn't paused, try pausing it and then resume.

  • Since I installed the last Mavericks update, my MacBook Pro will not recognize my Nook ebook reader

Since I installed the last Mavericks update, OS 10.9.2, my MacBook Pro will not recognize my Nook ebook reader.  Maybe it's a coincidence; maybe not.  Any ideas?

Check the Barnes & Noble or Nook websites to see if there are any Nook driver or software updates for OS X Mavericks.

  • I purchased photoshop cs5 for windows and want to install a license on my new MacBook Pro?

Is there a way that I can exchange my serial number for my third license for one that is compatible with Mac?

They have told it correct , you cannot have the windows and the mac serial number both , serial number of adobe are platform dependent hence you can have only one serial number either for mac or windows.
If you have bought Mac then you ask for a platform swap , wherein a new serial number and installtion media will be provided to you for mac but then your windows serial number will be cancelled and you will not be able to use it.

  • Since I downloaded Mavericks on my MacBook Pro, I have problems with my email. Some accounts do not work. Some do.

Some accounts do work, others not. I have removed the not working accounts and than added them again, didnt fix the problem. For the record; all accounts work perfectly on my other devices, Ipad and Iphone.

Yep, everything worked fine before Mavericks. I removed the account that didnt work at all and re-installed it, didnt work. All accounts work fine on my other devices like Ipad and Iphone, so it's not in the account itself.
