I want to install win 8 but not with Boot camp. So I downloaded my drivers and win 8 and I burned its DVD but when I want to install, at the select disc, I get an error about windows can not be installed on this drive because partition map is GPT. I formatted two partitions as FAT32 and by PARAGON NTFS as NTFS. But I cannot.
Can someone help me?

Or better yet install and run your Windows8 on a VM like ParallelsDesktop.

Boot Camp does not come on DVD, what did you install.

1. If you just want to run one application, control-click it and choose Open instead of changing the setting. This only needs to be done once per application.
2. Ensure that you trust any software you choose to open in this way.

Can I install Windows Server 2008 R2 using Bootcamp? I do not want to install native, but may consider if that is the only way....

Works like a charm. Apple Supports says you can have multiple instances of Bootcamp. Win Server 2008 R2 is up and running, drivers installed (except issues with Bluetooth) and accepting Windows Updates and Service Packs.

That file might have moved to a different location on the server. I think you'll need to check with RefWorks support or your local IT department on why the install page links do not work.

Are you not seeing the icon of the app you just downloaded (it happens sometimes, and the quick fix is to reset your iPad)? Or are you running out of space on your iPad?

There should not be any reason you cannot download it, unless you are referring to not having a link in your account for it.

No it will not as it will create a new partition (GUID) which will have nothing at the start and then it will the windows os but till then it will not erase anything

Want to install Win 7 32-bit with Bootcamp on a 2009 iMac 24in running Mavericks. Do I have any good options?

I need to get Win 7 32 bit running on 2009 iMac 24-in, on a Bootcamp partition. Problem is I'm running Mavericks on that machine, and from everything I've read, Bootcamp 5 doesn't support 32-bit anything. Is it possible to do so without downgrading MacOS to an earlier version? I will if I have to. Would it be possible/advisable to boot to 10.6.8 from a removable drive and create the Bootcamp partition on the internal (10.9.x) drive? Any other options that can get me running Windows faster? Under Parallels it's just too slow.

As a possible alternative, Is it possible to only load Win 7 to the machine without bootcamp? Could I simply partition the drive for Windows and install? It's not that I want to run Win 7 -- MacOS is a far better solution for me. But for my bookkeeper, who will use this system extensively, MacOS is a foreign landscape and her software is win-based. I don't want to pay her to learn Mac-ese. And I don't want to buy a PC!

Have never attempted to install Windows into Bootcamp on my discless Mac Mini, since I use Windows XP with Parallels.

Thanks for trying. That article is no help. I have found this same problem posted here and elsewhere. Mostly with Bootcamp, sometimes without. My 2010 15" MBP has 10.8.5, has a 650 MB Recovery Partition, and BOOTCAMP (windows 7, NTSF). I get the same error every time. My other Mac worked fine. Its Mavericks Recovery Partition is also 650 MB.
Things I tried that did not work:
Decreasing the size of the main partition.
Running Disk Utility on the drive and the partitions.
Installing from a different Mac via Target Disk Mode.
Deleting the current Recovery Partition.
Growing the main partition to take up the free space after deleting the Recovery Partition.
I am in the process of using WINCLONE to backup my Bootcamp. Then I will delete the bootcamp partition and try again. It has worked for at least one other person in Apple's forums.
