I want to merge music onto PC from two iPads with two different ID's
My husband and I want to merge our music library onto the PC and then use Match to download songs onto our iPads. We each have different Apple IDs and have been using them when purchasing music. However it has been problematic sharing this music with each other. So we subscribed to iMatch. But when trying to set both iPads up for iMatch, there is a notice that we have to wait 90 days. What's with that? Is there a work around for that?
Our iPads have been updated with the latest iOS version. The PC is working Windows 7.
You cannot merge two Apple IDs. However you can use your former AppleID in iTunes to access your music.
For example: my wife uses her AppleID in iCloud so she receives her own email, alerts etc. But we purchase all our music and Apps using my AppleID so we can share them, which Apple permits. You'll have to do the same at least with iTunes so you can access the music you bought from the iTunes store.
I know it is inconvenient but this is a feature users have been asking for as long as I can remember and given that Apple hasn't yet created a method for doing it must mean there are issues with music/movie contracts which are keeping Apple from doing it.

If you want to be able to access your entire music library from iCloud, you'll have to subscribe to iTunes Match (http://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/). Music purchased from the iTunes store is already in iCloud as it can be redownloaded at any time (see http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519).

I had toclear the hard drive of my computer and reinstall Windows 7. Now I want to transfer all the music and photos from my iPad back onto my computer. I authorized the computer (it is the ONLY computer authorized on this account - and this is the ONLY account on this iPad). ITunes then downloaded my purchases...or at least it tried - out of the hundreds of tracks I have purchased, it managed one album that I bought over a year ago and NOTHING else. So I tried to Sync - since on older versions of iTunes (that were SO MUCH MORE user friendly) that would do the job -transferring things that were only on the iPad onto the computer and vice versa. It doesn't do that anymore. So I went from my iPad's summary to the Music tab - the box for Music was not checked but when I checked it said the only thing it could do was erase EVERYTHING from my iPad and replace it with what was on my computer (that ONE album). What is going on?

Can't get any music onto shuffle from my iBook!
I have had an ipod mini for a year and a half, and no probs transferring and updating from my iTunes on my iBook(although will not update unless I restart the computer...maybe this is standard, not sure).
I have recently bought a Shuffle, and I intalled the accompanying CD-ROM, then plugged the shuffle in and although it is appearing on the desktop, it is not being recoginised by iTunes. The info booklet that came with the shuffle said it would automatically open up iTunes and let me upload some music, but I can't seem to find anyway to get music onto the shuffle at all. Have tried all the tricks in the trouble shooting section of the info book, but no success on my iBook.
A friend tried it on their PC at home and got music on no problem...it seems ridiculous that I can't get music onto it from an Apple computer.

Authorize your new computer's iTunes first - Store>Authorize this computer.
1) Without connecting your iPad to your laptop, start iTunes. Click on Edit. Click on Preferences. Click on Devices. Check the box next to "Prevent your iPod etc. from automatically syncing." Click OK.
2) Now connect your iPad to your laptop and start iTunes.
3) When iTunes starts, right click on your iPad under Devices in the left column. Select Transfer purchases etc.
4) After it finishes transferring all your apps to your new laptop, right click on your iPad and select Backup your iPad.
5) After it finishes backing up your iPad, right click on your iPad and select Restore etc.
6) After it finishes restoring, left click on your iPad , then click on the Apps tab on top, and check the box next to Sync Apps, then click on Apply below.
If everything on your iPad looks good after the sync, go back and click on Edit / Preferences / Devices and UN-check the box next to Prevent your iPod etc. The only other thing you may want to check is if your contacts, bookmarks, etc. are syncing correctly now. If not, go to the Info tab after connecting and make sure you indicate which features you want to sync with what sources.

Hi, we have two iphones with two accounts. The apple tv automatically syncs with one account to play music from the iphone to apple tv. How can I use my iphone to do the same?
Our experience is a little different, we have different iTunes accounts for different family members, each family member has their own iTunes library on their own mac, each mac uses my Apple ID for homesharing and we are able to play purchased content from each library on the Apple TV.

I deleted my account as it was showing up with an old Id ( I'd changed my email) but now I've done that it won't give me the option of logging back on. Do I have to do this on another device Or computer linked to iTunes first?

Many thanks JEM24 for your help. Ive just spent the best part of six hundred pounds on a new Sony Rx100m2 compact camera, so I have no interest in the Ipods camera at all really. I doubt Ill be watching many videos on it as Im very lucky in that I have a good Android tablet. Its more as a stock music player that Ill be buying the Ipod for, if indeed I do end up buying one. I dont like the idea of paying the exorbitant amount added for more memory space that Apple along with most other companies charge. In fact I read an article on this very subject just yesterday in the tech section of Flipboard. It stated in the article that in the case of the Iphone the actual cost of each additional gigabyte of storage to Apple et al is something in the order of 60p.. This is certainly not reflected in the price us the customer has to pay at the till.. Its for this reason primarily that Apple in particular, because their products do not allow adding expandable memory of your own in the form of cheap to buy cards, that nobody in their right mind buys the 64gig etc Iphones..I am aware that we are discussing my potential purchase of an Ipod Touch here but you see my point. No one here can answer the question (if or when that might happen). We are users here and do not speak for Apple. In fact, it violates the TOU to speculate about future Apple plans.

Perform a backup to iTunes from the old device and then a restore to the new device, use ITunes to do this. BTW, always sync photos to a computer to store them safely (use iPhoto on a mac or to a designated folder on a PC). Never trust an iOS device to keep photos without having them synced to a computer.

You can copy them via your computer's iTunes - you can't connect an iPad to iPod for direct transfer, though if you iOS 5 set up on both devices and iCloud enabled you might be able to re-download some of your iTunes purchased music on the other device.
