I want to my iphone don't send any busy tone to callers when I choose "do not disturb" function in new IOS...We must choose answer type..for example : send busy tone and don't send busy tone.
Additionally iphone must not turn light when incoming calls in "do not disturb function"
Because we don't want disturb but sametime our friends angry to us when they hear busy tone..

If I do a system restore, but I restore as a new phone, will my crucial phone functionality remain intact (phone number, ability to make calls, etc.)? And when it's restored, do I then just do a sync to have all my data brought back into the device?
Sync settings for calendar and contacts are enabled properly, and are the same as they have been for years. I'm not sure it's the calendar or contact data that is corrupted (although anything is possible) because the sync problems started happening exactly when the iMessage problems started happening.
Please advise on the system restore (not from backup) and I will post my results. Just wanna make sure I'm not doing anything irreparable.

You can backup the bookmarks on the old computer and create a JSON or HTML backup and restore or import this file in the Bookmarks Manager (Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks).
You can use an USB stick to transfer the saved bookmarks file to the new computer.<br />
You can also copy the places.sqlite file from that computer to have the bookmarks and the history.

Do not disturb is also accesible in settings, so you may be able to temporarily avoid the issue by allowing calls from everyone and having it only silent while locked, or perhaps secheduling might work. Other than that, restarting your device may be an option.

I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6.

Why does my iphone 3GS repeat the same song when I choose shuffle? It just started doing it today. I rebooted the phone, I looked to see if th repeat icon was being chosen and I cant even find that anymore! Help!

I am a lucky customer of two of these storms....once which arent 3 weeks old and the first one the one that was my phone locked up in the first week and i was mashing the screen not hard and the **bleep** thing broke...well verizon says you have 30 days till you can no longer buy the phone insurance and who would of thought in my first week the **bleep** touch screen would break by me tapping on it trying to get the locked up software to respond....and guess what verizon said there is nothing they can do to a phone with a cracked screen....and also both phones blackberrry storms that were sent to me were used equipement. but I am still repsponsible for the two contract agreement and I cant even use the **bleep** phone...also they say you can add insurance within 30 days of new purcchase not the phone that was malfuntioned and the screen cracked....but they let me add it to the second line....i think its very dirty of verizon to send used phones with two contracts to someone and it malfuntion like that and not replace the phone...and still hold the customer responsible for two year contract...after all the **bleep** trouble the storms have been giving customers...thats why they are sending the **bleep** things out free of charge...dont get scammed and screwed like I did go with Tmobile or att..

IPhone don't send E-Mails from other programs instantly

My iPhone does not send E-Mails instantly if they are created outside from the Mail-App. The E-Mails are in the Outbox of the Mail-App. Then I have to going there, open the E-Mail and send it manually.
Is there a setting to change this, that other Apps can send the E-Mails directly without the manual turn trough the Mail-Outbox?

iTunes now gives you the option to install previous purchases on your devices. Sign in to your iTunes account on your computer and go to the iTunes store. Once there, click on the purchased link on the right side of the store screen. It will take you to a screen that shows all of your previous iTunes purchases. Music, TV shows, Movies... Download whatever you want on your new computer. If that isn't an option you want to try then plug you iPhone into your computer and open iTunes. When your phone shows up in iTunes, click on it. At the bottom of the screen you should be able to select the option to manually transfer music. Then select the music you want from your phone and copy it over to your computer. At this point if you aren't logged in to your iTunes account you will be asked to sign in to play the songs. Hope this helps.

How Secure is my iPhone/ provide automatic re-enable of a phone that has set do not disturb.

There are many articles about how smart phones can be hacked to do things not desired. One I saw discussed recently is that a Smart Phone when turned on
can be send codes to put it in eavesdropping mode where the phone is asking as a transmitter of what is said near it to a phone connection opened by the codes
sent to turn it on.
One workaround suggested in some discussions was to require everyone to remove the battery from their phone so there is no power for eavesdropping. Obviously this won't work on an iPhone since the batteries are not removable. Does the phone provide protection from having eavesdropping instructions from being sent to it? Is there a way to temporarily disable the phone so it won't respond to such attempts? If the phone is fully shut down (hold the button down until the turn off option appears and you slide the slide bar to turn it off. Will it still respond to signals sent to it via the telephone connection or blue tooth link? Is there a simple way to turn off that capability which allows the user to turn it back on easily when in possession of the phone?
There is a feature to disable receiving calls or messages during a period selected in settings where you give the start and stop of the do not disturb function.
However, I find Do Not Disturb sadly lacking. If I go into meeting for theater and am asked to silence my phone Do Not Disturb seems perfect for that need. However the next morning when my coworkers ask why my phone is disabled, I have to admit I forgot to turn it back on. What I really need is an option from the easy settings to disable no longer than 2 hours (length of the meeting, concern, movie, dinner party, etc. then I do not need to remember to turn it back on.
If I set the start and stop time for the do not disturb option for now, if I don't remember to clear it, mu phone will re-enable at the right time but the next day it will go "dark" for the same interval even if I am free. Was this feature ever tested using real people doing real life situations? I found holes in the design and easy ways Apple could fix them. But they keep ignoring my suggestions.
It seems if a feature idea did not come from the design team, the design team does not deign to read and evaluated decent ideas from customers. I have talked with a number of long term iPhone users who would like such a feature. I don't know if the competition is doing anything like it.
