Hi I have two ipods one for myself the other for my wife on my pod I have 933 songs on it but when my wife ask could she have the same songs on her pod only 456 songs came up how can she have the same number of songs on her pod so we have the same..hope this make sence..Thanks Paul.

You've got it right, Chirs, except that it's actually Edit->>preferences->>iPod instead of "File"... Just trying to prevent a confusion.

Automatic Synchronize two IPODS from same owner?

I own appr. 3000 CD's. I have two ipods 60 GB. 1 is for classical music, 1 is for Pop, Jazz, Worldmusic. In this way i can keep a certain "system", much easier to find. In the car or my holidayhome (and my office) i want to have all my music with me. So i do not want any playlists. Also it is not easy to write down all you import in Itunes and then transfer it to the ipod concerned. I will never know whether i missed a cd once in a while. That's why i like the synchronization so much. I asked the applestore in my city how i could synchronize each of the ipods with "their own music". They didn't know. It was suggested (but not confirmed) to install another version of itunes on a different drive (f.i. D)and transfer "classical" to that version of itunes. Further, delete in the first itunes the classical music,leaving "the rest of the music". In my view it is much to complicated so i didnot try it yet. Who has another idea? Or can anyone confirm what was suggested by the apple store?

Thanks for trying to help me out. Making different playlists for each category does not help (i think), since i would like to be able to make extra playlists within a certain category and could i make a playlist within a playlist? Found a other solution "for the time being", but only in my situation (and for all others having more pc's) install on the other pc a "different" itunes, use a external hard disk to save the music data. Then make different directories in which to save the categories concerned. Since i would only use 1 ipod on 1 pc everything should work out fine. Still not happy with these "workarounds" it should be more simple. Maybe i try the two different profiles as mentioned in the first reply on my question.

Hi Sudhakar,
You can kep two templates side by side. For that:
Keep vertical alignment for first template as 'Absolute from top' and horizontal alignment as 'Left'.
Keep vertical alignment for secondary template as 'Absolute from top' and horizontal alignment as 'Right'.
Provide same height to make them appear side by side. and provide the dimensions based on your requirement.

The easiest solution for looping two or more DMD presentations
is to create a nested playlist within DMD. You simply
create a master presentation and add a playlist to this
presentation. Add the desired presentations to this playlist
and then schedule or send the Action to the DMP(s) to play
the Master Presentation. The 2 or more child presentations will
play and loop until you stop it manually.
Summary of Tasks
* Using DMD create Presentations (2 or more) that you would like
to display on the DMP-Display(s).
* After the presentations are created, you will need to find out
what the URL addresses are for each presentation. Using the
"Actions" drop down on the DMM-DMP Manager screen, you select
a DMP and send the Presentation to the DMP. Once the DMP displays
the presentation, access the DMP-DM Web admin page and copy the URL
address in the "Startup URLs-->Browser" field.   Repeat this process
for each DMD presentation that you want to loop.
For example:

http://dmm.company.com:8080/xTAS-core/appgen/clad/clad_96_.htm
and so on...
* Another parameter or variable that you will need to find out is
the duration of your DMD presentation(s). Some Presentations may be

play each presentation on the DMP to determine the duration length of
each presentation that you will add to the looped playlist.
* Create a Master presentation using DMD. In this presentation, you will
create add a "Playlist" to the presentation by selecting the Playlist
button-drop down. Select "All Media Types" and a Playlist object will
be added to the Master presentation.
- Double-click on the object to add content
- Select "Add URL" button in the Playlist Content window.
- Fill in the required fields (URL Title & Link) in the "Add URL"
    window. Repeat the process for each presentation that you want
    to add.
- Set the Duration for each item in the Playlist. Select the Item
    in the list and then DOUBLE-CLICK on the "Planned Duration"
    field and edit the time to desired duration. Repeat process for
    each item.
- Save Master Presentation
* Schedule or use the "Actions" drop down on the DMM-DMP Manager screen
send the Master Presentation to the DMP(s). The Playlist will play and
Loop after the last item in the Master Playlist.

Yes, if you have an appleTV it would be easier. WIthout airplay, you can use APP called BEAMER, beam any video file to your AppleTV hooked to you TV set.
It would stream more smoothly if you put each video file as you go onto the Mac from the HD, and erase after youre done watching same.

I was not complete clear.
Since you never changed the settings in the advanced section of iTunes preferecnes, you have to chech that your music is really in the location setted in the folders reported in the advanced section. If not you have 2 ways: reset the position of this folders or in the actual disk organisation or in the pointing on the preferences.
If you press the reset button you just give to itunes its default setting as for the position of the music files: probably this will be a good choice if you have never changed any default preference.
But before I would check the folders and see if the songs are really there

It is happening via "shuffle" in a playlist. Always two different songs within the playlist. You can see the next song on the screen that should, theoretically, be playing...but nothing happens. Even when you push "play" on the remote, it doesn't receive the command.
I reset, then restored ATV. Now, it doesn't limit itself to two songs, but does stop after a few. The more trial and error I do, the more I believe the problem is with Homesharing in iTunes. If I turn off Homeshare, then turn it back on, a couple more songs will play in the playlist. I have shut down iTunes, restarted computer, completed updates, but nothing seems to change it.
It used to play fine for hours on end, but has now found this glitch.

You can either have multiple user accouts on your computer, or create separate playlists for your two iPods in iTunes.

Our daughter has loaded her iPod onto our family computer and created an account. I now have my own iPod for which i want my own library, which will include photo's. How can I use my iPod and sync to my library without syncing to my daughter's.
I also need to download the library on my iPod onto my own library. I somehow had a library but it has been wiped clean due to a restore. Is there a way of reverse backing up from my iPod to my computer.

Transferring tracks from an iPod back to iTunes has been covered here a number of times already, but again:
First, you need to prevent automatic synchronzation with a blank copy of iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer, hold down the Shift and Ctrl keys in Windows. This should stop the iPod from auto synching with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 3 and 25 seconds depending on your computer.
Then if you're using iTunes 7, you can then copy music that you purchased from the iTunes Store back to iTunes directly (use the Transfer Purchases From iPod command under the iTunes File menu).
If you're not using iTunes 7 or want to copy back other tracks, the easiest way will be to search VersionTracker for "iPod". You'll find a number of utilities that can transfer your tracks and your playlists from your iPod back to your PC.
It's also possible to do this manually, but the procedure is rather involved. If you're interested, though, see this thread:
