I am getting rid of my old laptop and it has my iTunes on it. I want to remove and put it all onto my desktop now. How do I do this?

Quick answer if you let iTunes manage your music: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Start iTunes with the option (shift on Windows) key held down and guide it to the new location of the library. -

Choose Consolidate Library from the Advanced menu or the Library section of the File menu in iTunes, find the iTunes library location from the iTunes preferences, and move the song files inside to the new computer.

Cannot find my playlists that I had in my ITunes in my other computer. I bought this computer and installed Itunes. It all installed fine in my library, BUT..... MY PLAYLISTS aren't there. What can I do?
If you connect your ipod to the itunes. If it tells you you need to erase then just cancel that.
Click on your iPod in the left hand sidebar
Ctrl S to show sidebar
Select ipod and expand the selection by clicking onthe black arrow
Right mouse click on the iPod Playlist and select export
Then when you are done Use File > Library > Import Playlist (Ctrl + B to show top menu in windows)
This should put your playlists in iTunes which if the songs are there should work fine -

Did you not move your itunes library from the old computer to the new computer?
The iphone will sync with one itunes library at a time. Since the iphone is not a storage device, you cannot move the music from the iphone to the computer. The exception is itunes purchased music. With the iphone plugged in you can hit File>Transfer Purchases in itunes.
You need to put you music into your new computer first then sync. -

It does not magically appear in a new place. It will only be where you put it.
Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.
