I want to reinstall safari

My Safari has been deinstalled accidentally. Need to reinstall the safari. I do not have any othe web browser in my mac to download the safari. I tried using the CD i got with the MAC, but it failed.
Can anyone help me.

Download a browser on the system you are using to post here.  Stick it on a flash drive and put it on the machine where you "lost" safari.
You could also use Pacifist to extract a safari off your installer dvd.  Not sure if that safari would work or not if you updated your system beyond that installer version.
Better would be to download the proper version for whatever system you are using directly from the apple site if it is still available.

  • How do i reinstall Safari for mac osx 10.7.2?

I updated my Safari from 5.1.3 (I believe) to the latest Safari 7 (I believe). When I tried to open it, it said I needed to update my osx, which I don't want to do. Now I can't seem to go back to the Safari I had. I've tried installing version 5.1.1, but it says I need to have mac osx 10.6. My osx version is 10.7.2 and don't want to upgrade yet, but how do I get Safari back, and which version of Safari works in osx 10.7.2?
What happened is not fair because when I was installing the new version of Safari, there was no warning about which osx I needed. Only after it replaced the old version did it say that I can't use it with my current osx. Is that Apple's way to force you to upgrade to the latest osx? Not fair! How can I reinstall Safari now?

On a Mac running v10.7.2, the only way to reinstall Safari is to reinstall OS X using OS X Recovery.
Safari 5.1.1 is for Snow Leopard. It will not run on a Mac with v10.7 installed.

  • Will reinstalling safari let me import bookmarks from firefox?

I have not been able to import bookmarks to Safari, so I'm considering reinstalling safari because it is supposed to ask if you want to import bookmarks from another browser the first time it is run. Is there any way to completely uninstall and reinstall safari so that it will think it is being run for the first time?
I am running OSX 10.3.9 and Safari 1.2. Is this the correct version of Safari? If not, exactly where can I go to dowwnload the correct version?
    Thanks

  • How to test/reinstall Safari?

I got a problem that have been bugging me for a while.
One of the pay sites I use to purchase airline tickets no longer work 100%.
During the payment process it looses the information about the ticket I want to purchase and I end up with a blank page.
    Funny thing is that:
    - it used to work
    - it works when I do it from my MacAir
I reckon that somehow something is changed in my Safari setting on my iMac that I'm unaware of.
Is there a way to verify that Safari works by going to a web-site that will test all it's features?
That would allow me to pin-point what is wrong.
How can I reinstall Safari - without having to reinstall the entire Mac OS X?

    Hi,
From your Safari menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Autofill tab. Click the Edit button next to: Other forms. Remove All.
Now from the menu bar again, click Safari / Empty Cache.
    Restart your Mac.

  • How can I reinstall safari without losing bookmarks

I need to reinstall my Safari and preserve all my Bookmarks.
For a previous problem, i have to reinstall my MacOS and safari now does not work. So i want to reinstall it, but I'm not sure if I'm going to lose my previous bookmarks that I had in my latest Safari.
    Any help is welcome.
    THANK YOU!!

    Hi Julian,
About 15 minutes ago I reinstalled Safari and all my bookmarks remained intact... here's what I did...
I had a problem with Safari not opening after Security Update 2005-007. I used a program called Pacifist to get a file called Safari.pkg from my Tiger install disc.
    The file lives in:
    Mac OS X Install DVD/System/Packages/Safari.pkg
Open the pkg with Pacifist and drop the Safari.app file into your Applications folder.
That's it - my bookmarks all remained intact - hope yours do!
FYI - Safari bookmarks are stored in your 'user' home folder in Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist so you might want to make a copy of that and keep it safe.
If you install a browser called Shiira you can also import your Safari bookmarks into that. I managed to do that while my Safari was broken.
Good luck. I accept no responsibility for lost bookmarks etc. ;O)
    Regards,
    Dan

  • Do I need to Reinstall Safari

A "friend" suggested I install Acidsearch but it seems to have mucked up my copy of Safari. It now fails to load at all. On my daughters account on the same computer all is well. I've tried removing stuff from my own Library/Safari folder, checking permissions and reinstalling 10.4.3 but with no success. Any way to just reinstall Safari and get it working again?
    Powerbook Ti G4   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

There is a note on VersionTracker that says that both VersionTracker and MacUpdate had version 0.6 which apparently has problems with Safari 2.0.2, although both sites say that the download is for v. 0.61 which is fixed to work for Safari 2.0.2. I know that as of today, at least, they both now have v. 0.61, which has a date of Dec. 4, 2005 in the Get Info box (the date on the Acid Search pages on both MacUpdate and versionTracker is still Nov. 1, 2005). Is it possible you got the wrong version of Acid Search? If this was the case, you could try downloading a fresh copy and try reinstalling.
Also, how did you try to uninstall Acid Search? This is one program for which you must use the publisher's uninstall routine. To uninstall Acid Search, you need to open the Installer and click on the Uninstall button. If you did not use their uninstall routine, you still might want to reinstall Acid Search so that you can properly use their uninstall routine.

  • How can I reinstall Safari 8.0 without disturbing anything else?

How can I reinstall Safari 8.0 without disturbing anything else?  I have OS X 10.10.1 Yosemite & Safari 8.0 (that comes in it) installed on a MacBook Pro laptop and a Mac Mini tabletop computer. I want to access internet banking which goes without problems on the laptop but does not work on the tabletop. The latter says "somebody tried to display the application in a frame..." whatever that means and obviously for safety reasons I can not start banking it always comes back to the screen with this warning. I tried Mozilla FireFox on the tabletop Mini and everything works fine including the banking. A Mac expert suggested something is wrong with the Safari settings and I should reinstall it. How do I do this without reinstalling the System? Would it suffice to wipe out the Safari Preferences and start anew? I am looking for somebody's advice more experienced than I am. Thanks!
    Andy

    Hello isza41,
Before you try to do any uninstall/install stuff let me suggest you something:
Create a new user and check if the same happens within its account. You could do so by going trough the following steps:
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Users & Groups.
Click the lock icon to unlock it, then enter an administrator name and password.
Click Add below the list of users.
Click the New Account pop-up menu, then choose a type of user. - Standard user account would be perfect here.
Enter a full name for the new user. An account name is generated automatically. To use a different account name, enter it now—you can’t change it later.
Enter a password for the user, then enter it again to verify. Using a password hint is recommended to help the user remember his or her password.
    Click Create User.
Now Logout from your account (⌘⇧Q) and Login to the one you have just created. This account is fresh without any changed settings(as a new instance would look like).
Check if the same would happen and you would see if this is an issue with your installation or something more general.

  • How do I reinstall Safari 7?

Hi guys, I deleted Safari 7 (Mavericks) and I want to reinstall but can't find it, any one know where or how?

There's no separate download - you need to reinstall Mavericks unless you have a backup with Safari 7 on it.

    Hi..
Going by your profile v10.5.8, you need to install this version > Safari 5.0.6 for Leopard
Safari comes pre installed with the Mac OS X and can be reinstalled for free anytime.
Not sure where you are seeing the $29...

  • Hot to reinstall safari from usb

    Using OS 10.7.5
My safari has crashed, every time I try i get a report to apple error. Trouble is I reported to Apple 100 times, and it still does not help.
I have Lion USB and want to reinstall just safari. Is this easy to doo?

You won't get an acknowledgement of crash reports. They're for Apple's internal use, not for support.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
Still in the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports for crash reports related to the process. The report name starts with the name of the crashed process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents — again, the text, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don’t post shutdownStall, spin, or hang logs — they're very long and not helpful.

  • I am trying to import Firefox bookmarks from a Windows machine into Firefox on an Apple. I do not want to use Safari. How do I do this?

am trying to import Firefox bookmarks from a Windows machine into Firefox on an Apple. I do not want to use Safari. How do I do this?
I have, on my HP laptop, running XP Pro, using Firefox 4.0, went under bookmarks to show all bookmarks. A window opens up that says library. I then go to import and back up, and I choose export HTML. I then move this file over to my new Mac Pro. On my Mac Pro I also have Firefox 4.0. I go up under bookmarks, show all bookmarks, import HTML. It lets me browse and I find the file on the desktop, I select it then nothing happens. I am not interested in using Safari. I would like to continue using Firefox. However, as an experiment, I followed the same process except on my Apple computer I opened up Safari and tried to import in the Firefox bookmarks. It came up with an error saying the file could not be accessed. I then thought perhaps the file got corrupted, so I went back to my Windows Firefox and re-exported the bookmarks again. Same problem. So, am I creating the bookmarks incorrectly on my Windows machine?
    Thanks,
    Kent

Probably your Mac cannot understand the Windows html format, please try the following to see if it helps:
In your PC, export the bookmarks in html as you did in your post. After you have saved it, change the name of the file to “bookmarks.html” and save it again.
In your Mac, import the saved file as you posted.

  • The loading bar at the bottom of my browser has disappeared and I want to reinstall or reactivate it. How do I do this please and what is this bar called? I use the lastest version of Firefox 3.6.3 and Windows XP.

The loading bar at the bottom of my Firefox browser has suddenly disappeared and I want to reinstall or reactivate it. How do I do this please and what is this bar called? I use the latest version of Firefox 3.6.3 and Windows XP. I have many add ons and I usually automatically install the recommended updates. This problem has never happened before and switching my browser on and off again does not solve the issue.

Loading Bar? Maybe the URL/address bar where you type sites you want to go to (like www.google.com)? See Navigation Bar below. You may also need to see the first item "Can't see the Menu Bar".

Best to install 10.9 straight up. If you still have your OS 10.9 downloaded file you can use that, or you can go to the app store and download it again. It will be in your previous purchase history. Or you could even upgrade to 10.10. If you want to start from scratch you will need to boot from USB or DVD and initialise (erase) your internal HD.
