I want to remove old  devices from my iTunes

I want to remove old devices from itunes

There is nothing to remove, as the only thing left would be device backups, which are not stored in iTunes. If you want to delete old device backups: iTunes>Preference>Devices...delete the backups here.

How can I remove old devices from my iTunes-Mediathek?

That's a very general question, so here are two documents from Apple for using automatic syncing and manually managing content.
Sync your iPhone, iPad and iPod with iTunes using USB - Apple Support
Manage content manually on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod - Apple Support
If your question is actually about removing content (you know how to add content), you are probably using the manual method to add content, and don't know how to manually remove content.  For iTunes 12, on the horizontal bar that goes across the iTunes window (near the top), click the Music button near the left end.  Near the middle of same bar, click Playlists.  The sidebar appears along left side of window and Devices, your iPod is listed.  Click the small triangle to the left of the iPod's name, to drop down its content list (indented below iPod).  Click Music there.  To the right, the list of songs on the iPod is shown.  Select the song you want to remove and press Delete on the keyboard.  You can do this with one or more songs selected.
You can also use the iPod's "management" screen.  Select the iPod in iTunes, so that you see its Summary settings screen.  In the sidebar, under On My Device, click Music.  This is the same as on the "content list" described above.

Thanks pvonk, I will try downloanding the book from the Iphone right now.......
Just tried to download and it wants me to buy it again?  Is there some way around this?  I guess I thought that was the whole point of the cloud, buy it once and access from any of your devices right?
Also, I have logged into the icloud.com as suggested and will plink around there for a bit and try to understand.  It is just all so dang different that what I am used to; Apple's way, that is.
Thanks again for the Icloud tip and if you know of a way to download without making a 2nd purchase I would sure love to hear it!
Geez. one other thing (I guess I am complaining) but I bought more space in the cloud, they took my cash fast enough but have not yet increase the size of my storage space yet?  Is Apple sometimes slow to get internal stuff done?

    <Serial Number Edited By Host>

If you enabled Find my iPhone then you should use that. If not, I'm afraid you're out of luck for finding it.
To manage your devices, go to Your Account in iTunes.

    What sort of transaction ?
If it's an auto-renewing subscription that is due then there are instructions on this page for managing and stopping them : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4098
If it's a pre-order that is being released then see this page : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5714
If it's something that you've already 'paid for' then purchases are considered final, but you can try the 'report a problem' link to contact iTunes Support and see if they will cancel/refund it : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes Support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • How do i remove a device from my itunes account

I no longer have my iPad. How can I remove it so it doesnt show up in iTunes, find my iPhone

You need to log in to your icloud account on www.icloud.com
Remove your device from Find My iPhone
Sign in to icloud.com/find using your Apple ID (the one you use with iCloud).
If you’re using another iCloud app, click the iCloud button to switch apps.
Click Devices, select the offline device you want to remove, then click the Delete icon .
The Delete icon appears only after Find My iPhone has tried and failed to connect to your device (this may take a few minutes).
Note:  You can also click the “Remove from Find My iPhone” button in the device’s Info window.

  • TS3989 My 5th gen ipod touch was stolen.  I removed the device from my iTunes account, but their pictures still show up on the photostream on the one I purchased to replace it.  How do I get this to stop, the cops have no interest in their faces, nor do I

My 5th gen iPod touh was stolen a month ago.  I immediately removed that device from my account and yet today I looked at my photostream and there are tons of pics of these people on my photostream.  How do I get this to stop?!?

Change your iCloud ID password: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5624.  After doing so, go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the new password.

  • Hi there can I remove a device from my iTunes using my iphone not a pc?

Can u help I need to remove a device form my iTunes using my phone

Many newer wireless routers can create more than one network simultanesouly. If I wanted to do this, I'd set up a separate network for my child to use, then change the password during those times I wanted him to stay off the net. Or just pull the plug and keep the wireless transmitted (the plug) where he couldn't reach it.
If you're using a recent Airport Base Station or Time Capsule there are better options.

  • Remove old device from list in iCloud settings

I purchased a new Iphone 6 and turned in my old phone.  I did as I was told and turned off find my phone and erased all content.
When I log into iCloud.com and go to settings, my old phone is still listed there, but it is not listed on Find my Phone.
I did the same exact process on my wife's new phone and it did not have this problem.
How do I remove my old phone from my icloud settings?

Erasing all content and settings should have removed it, but seems not to.  If you still had the old phone, setting it up as a new phone, then signing in and back out of your iCloud account would remove it.  Since you don't have the phone anymore, you'll have to get assistance from Apple support to remove it.  Your new phone still qualifies for fee phone support: http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/.

  • How can you get the unknown  previous owners on iPhone 5 Apple ID account be removed old device from Find iPhone ?

Did you find this in a best practices document?
No, you first use common sense then you put it in a company IT policy document. So you are saying that you cannot create an Apple ID for each individual, because it is a hassle? So I guess it is also a hassle to create company email accounts because there are many people "coming and going"?
Have the IT department create an Apple ID for each user with a "temporary" password. Then the user can change it. Once the emplyee leaves, he turns in his phone and gives the password to IT so they can deactivate his Activation lock and reset the phone. Or do what razmee209 has suggested.
I guess the above might be a problem in your company where it is apparent that people are getting run over by buses all of the time and dying every hour.

  • HT204074 How do I remove a device from my itunes account?

I am trying to remove my daughter's ipod from my account as she broke it and we are replacing it with a new one.  I no longer want it listed as one of my devices.  However, there is NO "Manage Devices" option anywhere on my screen!!!  I have looked everywhere and cannot see that?  On the tech support page it says just go to the "Manage Devices" and remove it???  HELP!
    thanks for any advice!

De-authorize it. Or check the instructions given in the Learn about link at the top of this topic. Also check the links below the heading "More Like This" on the right side of the page.
    Authorization and Deauthorization
Macs:  iTunes Store- About authorization and deauthorization.
Windows: How to Authorize or Deauthorize iTunes | PCWorld.
In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it.
More On De-authorizing Computers (contributed by user John Galt)
You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
      1. Open iTunes on a computer
      2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
      3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
      4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
      5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

  • Can't remove old devices from icloud

3 devices that I have sold are still showing up in my Icloud -> Settings -> My Devices, and doesn't give me the option to remove them.  How can I remove them?

I'd wait a while.  A number of people have complained about this and I suspect Apple will find a way to remove them (such as by removing them automatically after a certain period of inactivity).
You can help influence this by providing your feedback here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/icloud.html.

  • How can I find an audio book on my 4th gen shuffle? Can't find it even when it's set to play in order. Tried setting it to Sync audiobooks but a warning says 'do you want to remove existing songs from other itunes library? and I don't want to do this.

How can I find an audiobook on my 4th gen shuffle? Can't find it even when I play in order. When I try to tick Sync audiobooks it asks if I want to continue to remove existing music befoer syncing and I don't want to do that. Can anyone help?

Did you already load the audiobook manually (by dragging it to the shuffle)?  To confirm that the audiobook is on the shuffle...
Select the shuffle in the iTunes sidebar.  If the sidebar (along left side of window) is not visible, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.
Click the small triangle to the left of the shuffle name (in the sidebar) to drop down its content list, indented below the shuffle.  Click on Audiobooks there.  To the right, your audiobook(s) should be listed.
NOTE:  if you don't see Audiobooks on the content list, there are no audiobooks on the shuffle.
When you turn ON the shuffle, you are playing from the default All Songs list.  Audiobooks (and podcasts) do not play from the All Songs list.  You need to use VoiceOver to select the audiobook from the playlist menu.  This document explains how to set up and use VoiceOver on your shuffle

  • How do I remove a device from my airplay list on my macbook?

My airplay list in the ui of my MacBook Pro shows a device from another classroom. I want to remove that device from the list. How do I do that? Do I need to edit my keychain?
    Thank you.

One person said that Apple support told them that it will automatically be removed when the new owner signed into a different iCloud account with it.
