I want to repair my water damaged Blackberry

So I was having a great day at the beach and me and my blackberry went swimming. This happened over a week ago. I did the rice thing but it didn't matter my phone is broken. Is there any way I can figure out what is broken and buy a replacement part? I already found one website that has some replacement parts, but I still don't know how to tell what is broken. If there's some online guide on how to troubleshoot this or some company I can call it would be much appreciated.Thanks.

You check with Apple before handing it over to someone with a shady repair service that has an "i" in the name.
You have a hacked/jailbroken phone. Probably because whoever "repaired" the water damage replaced the logic board with one that was illegally hacked to unlock it.
Apple does not "repair" liquid damaged phones. They replace them entirely with refurbished units.
Sorry. You got ripped off. Take it to whoever fixed it and let them know that's unacceptable. Then take whatever settlement you can get from them and buy a new phone.
You will never be able to update or restore that phone without permanently bricking it.

Water Damaged Blackberry Storm 2 9520

Hi, I got rugby tackled into a lake with my BB in my pocket a few weeks ago and the phone got wet. i took the battery out straight away and then dried the phone in a bowl of rice for a few days. when i put the battery back in the phone worked fine for about a week and then the screen started to stop working sporadically before packing up altogether. the little water damage indicator on the phone has turned red but the one on the battery hasn't. even then the red LED still came on when i put the battery in and the 4 little call, menu, back, and hang up lights came on too. about two weeks later i had the device charged in my bag when i went into an old wifi spot i used and i heard the phone recieving emails, bbms and facebook notifications so it all still worked. i was fiddling around with it the other day and i could see thep phone was trying to load up when i plugged it in although the screen was very dim as if the backlight wasnt working. after a long time (maybe and hour or so) i looked at it again and could make out that there were a list of specifications and numbers on the screen in tiny print and a small icon in the centre of the screen that said "reset" on it. i tried to click this but the touch screen wasnt working so it didnt work. i was wondering if anyone knew if theres any way of fixing the phone?

It is possible, though difficult, to replace the LCD and Capacitive screen on the 9520. For the cost, it really isn't worth it.

How much is it to repair a water damaged macbook pro?

My boyfriend spilled beer on my laptop quite some time ago. I haven't been able to go into the Apple store to get it checked out because I've been so busy. A few of the keys don't work and the backlight (where the beer was spilled) is very dim, other than that it still works perfectly fine. I read online somewhere that you shouldn't turn it on at all until it's been checked out but I've been using it perfectly fine just with these annoying faults. How much will it cost me to have it repaired? In GBP, because I live in the UK.

Went to the Apple store (like you suggested) and it's only going to cost me £135 to repair which I'm so happy about. He said only the top case is damaged but the liquid didn't manage to get all the way inside my computer so it's great news...we would've been forking out hundreds if the liquid had gotten in deeper!

Water damaged blackberry 8520

Hey guys, well my bold 9700 lcd screen broke and my friend let me borrow his curve 8520.... i accidently dropped it into a dirty mop bucket and it has been about a week now. you cant see the screen. however if you put the phone in the light you could see it a tiny but.... i didnt have isoprphyll alcohol or T6 screw so i waited until it got delivered ... the wrong type of screw came so i just soaked the phone in the alcohol. the buttons and trackpad have gone really stiff and i cant see the screen anymore, i turned it on and the red light comes and thats it. i dont know whether the buttons have broke or if i need to order a new lcd screen. im waiting for the screw to come AGAIN!
Do you guys think i should order a new lcd screen or is the phone broke, pleaasseee HELP!!!

Given what you've already done since this happened, the chances of your success are much dimmer than had you done this right off the bat. The only thing predictable about moisture intrusion into a BB is that the results will be unpredictable. Given what you've done, I'd expect your BB to get worse and worse until it eventually dies. It could be later today, it could be in a month...there's no way to know, but I doubt you'll ever get this BB working again...there is likely much more damage inside than just the screen.

If you have AppleCare+, you can get a replacement for $49.

My repaired water damaged macbook pro has no audio with the icon greyed out. i tried all the suggestions but nothing seems to work. however, on my external clone, the output does work. any ideas about this?

I tried reseting the pram, reinstalling the software, plugging the headphone jack in and out, deleting playlist but nothing works. on the external clone, the output works with noise but still no input device.
can i use a sound card instead?

If you just had the system repaired for water damage what did they replace? If it was the Logic board then all parts should work and if they don't, like the sound, then they didn't fix it correctly and you should take it back to them for a proper fix.

So I went to the apple store to ask them something about my iphone, and the guy said it has water damage on the top sensor , but not the bottom. However, my phone works fine, and he even said the battery and everything seems to be running normally. My question is this... should I get it repaired? I found a website that fixes water damage for $40, but my phone is running fine, battery and all... so should I bother?

Why would you do anything?
If the "water damage" is not causing issues, leave it alone.
If you allow anyone other than Apple to open/repair/replace the device, you void any possible warranty.
Is it worth $40 to repair supposed water damage and lose any potential warranty you might have?

I am writing this post hoping that it will help you and anyone else who searches the Web wanting advice for a water-damaged iPhone. Bottom line: Our water-damaged 3GS doesn't work, but we were able to salvage our photos!
My wife had a similar issue - her iPhone 3GS was dunked into salt water and wouldn't respond to any buttons. We dried off the exterior and left it in a warm car to dry it off. I later read that you can speed up the drying process by putting it into a bag of rice or silica gel packs, but don't overheat it. Anyway, after a few days we took it to the Apple store, where a "genius" told us there was nothing we could do to repair it.
We explained that we wanted to recover photos from the trip we were on, and he said it might be possible by executing a procedure that involves removing the memory chip from the motherboard and soldering it to a new circuit. But it would be extremely expensive. So we took it home, resolved to upgrading to a 4S when they became available.
Believing that we could do no more harm, she plugged it into the power adapter and was surprised to see a faint Apple logo on the screen - barely visible, but in the same spot where one appears during boot-up.
After charging the phone for about a day, it still wouldn't respond to the lock button. So I figured, there's nothing to lose by plugging it into my Mac desktop. I was surprised when iPhoto launched as usual, and shocked when the iPhone appeared in the Sources pane. It read all the stored photos, and let me download all of them except one movie. It even launched iTunes and stepped through the sync process: backup, download purchased apps, updated apps, syncing files, etc. It seemed to balk, though, when I tried to access app data.
It may be that ours was not a typical outcome - that we could just as easily have fried whatever undamaged circuits were left by plugging it into the charger and the desktop. So my advice to anyone who reads this and wants to recover their photos, books, apps, etc is to research the Web for ways to minimize water damage; try to dry the phone out as thoroughly as possible; try to power up gently; and if all else fails, try syncing to your desktop. Water damaged iPhone - Ultrasonic cleaning?

Hi, I have managed to kill my 16GB iPhone G3, it might be smart but unfortunately it can't swim. I have emailed a few repair companies. ipaqrepair.co.uk has offered me free diagnostic and said they can repair some water damaged units using an ultra sonic bath.
Does anyone know if ultrasonic cleaning could possibly repair my phone? Anyone have any experience of using this company.
Any advise on this matter would be much appreciated, I love my iPhone and am totally gutted, I kept it in a bag of rice for about 4 days to dry it out, it won't respond at all, when I plug it into my computer it detects it but gives an error message.

Ultrasonic cleaning of iPhone components in DI water and alcohol might remove some corrosion and contamination, which theoretically could solve your problems, but it will certainly not repair any shorts or other electrical issues. If they will attempt to clean it and only charge you if it works, it might be worth a try. Doesn't sound like you've got much too lose since it sounds like it's a brick now. Another option is to take it apart yourself and attempt to clean it, perhaps with alcohol and/or a spray electrical cleaner.

Hi guys, some months ago my Ipod touch 32g (fourth generation) fell on the toilet seat, and it got water damaged, its dead and passed out. I took a rendez-vous at the nearest apple store near my house for sathurday so i fix it, but I want to know what will they tell me, what is the price, and is there any other way repairing it. Also, its been more than 1 year ive bought my ipod touch so the warranty of 1 year is over. Also, some friend of mine told me that apple waranty says it is 1 year, but it is 2 years, and it was recently sued because of it, I would like to know if it was a myth or it was truth, because if it is true, my warranty might not be over.
