The new update isn't a patch on the original. Adobe have taken out most of the wonderful special effects and left us with a less than basic photo editing app. What are they thinking of? Can I revert back or is it gone forever!

Do you backup and sync your ipad with iTunes on you computer? If so the prior version of Photoshop Express.ipa may me in your trash bin.

Are you copying the cropped images directly from Aperture's Browser window and then pasting into your family tree?
It would be safer to export the cropped faces as new image files to a folder on your disk, and then drag them from there to the "Family Tree" window.
To export select the cropped image versions in Aperture's browser and use the command "File > Export > Version". Select a suitable export preset from the pop-up menu, for example "Jpeg fit into ..." and select a folder to export to.

The current Beta version is eating up huge resources and slowing up everything from typing to mousing (the mouse becomes unstable and hard to move where you want it.)

Uninstalling the 5.0 beta version and installing the Firefox 4 release should cause any problems, but you can and should always have a backup of your profile data.

Living in Germany but want to rent kids films from iTunes in the original version (English) and am finding that everything is in German!!

Can I change the language back to the original version if I download a film in Germany (e.g. Batman) - on the info page it says the only language provided is German, whereas for adults the films seem to be provided in both the original version, and the horrid dubbed version.

I am afraid that this is a local policy of Germany as a state, and adopted by companies, which activate there. This method has been used in many European countries, but not in all countries. I am still happy that almost all the films are subtitled in Romania as this allows to hear the original language, the original voice and is very useful for learning foreign languages. Dubbing films is, in my mind, against the European spirit of mutlicultural continent, and states which still support this should abandon this method. I think this is an issue of a cultural phenomenon, not an Apple forum issue.

Re-order a book from the original version of Aperture?

In 2010 I ordered a hardcover book, 8.5 x 11, with 100 pages from Apple, successfully prepared in the original version of Aperture.
Now I need to reprint another one of this book. Can I send it to Apple in the original Aperture version or must I upgrade to Aperture 2.0 or 3.0. I don't want to re-create or re-format the book. My preference would be to only upgrade if necessary and/or if glitches are predictable.

If you want to revert back to 10.4.8, you can use the Archive & Install method selecting preserve user and network settings with your Tiger install disc.
Afterwards and assuming your Tiger install disc includes an earlier version than 10.4.8, you download the 10.4.8 Combo Update to install 10.4.8. Afterwards, run Software Update to install any available Apple applications or security updates, etc. not included with the 10.4.8 Combo Update.
The 10.4.9 update will also turn up with Software Update which you can deselect and not install.

I upgraded to iTunes 10.5 and now want to revert to an earlier version.

No that I "upgraded" to iTunes 10.5 I can no longer import CDs. The OS (10.6.8) mounts the CDs as Audio CD, but iTunes will not show it as mounted or import the music. I tried importing on another computer, putting the music on an USB device, but can not import from that either.
I want to revert to an older version of iTunes that works. How can I do that?

Software Update is probably checking items in your receipts folder and finding 10.5 listed there.

I don't think you will step up incrementally to where you want to be. Software update will also look at Apple's server and ask it what the latest version of iTunes is that will run on your computer and probably take you straight to 10.5. Unless somebody else knows where it might be hidden I don't think there is a version of 10.4 to be had unless somebody archived it the way I tend to (but I didn't bother since I haven't upgraded since 7.5).
I know this is more after the fact suggestion but I never update when something first comes out even though Software Update presses me to (well, it did until I disabled it after Apple stopped doing any kind of update for my OS). I let everybody else be my tester for a while, then decide. Then I back up my computer and install. And as I said before, I have all kinds of old versions archived on my drive just in case I need to back out (alas not iTunes 10 though).

why cant i get a straight answer to a very simple question.

if you made a custom installation wherein you opt to have a different installation path, then you may have to delete the previous installed version.
if you made a default installation wherein you opt to have an "upgrade installation", then the original version need not be uninstalled.
having two installation paths will result to two working mozilla firefox browsers but each time you launch a version, an "add-on compatibility check" will always occur.
for best results, always do an "upgrade installation" unless you want to try a new version first by checking it out.

Equium P200D - revert to the original BIOS?

Toshiba Tempo alerted me to the existence of an updated Bios for my notebook, but on installation the system froze and now it won't restart at all (blank screen) As part of the installation I was asked if I wanted to back up the existing Bios, which I did (under BIOS-BAK), but how can I now get into the system in order to access the back up and revert to the original Bios ?

I agree with the user above. The old BIOS can only be reinstalled if the update went well.
Now in your case you need professional help form an authorized service provider. The technicians have to reflash the ROM module.
