I Want to Rotate Marquee Selection Outline

Is there a way to make a selection using the marquee tool, and then rotate the marching ants so the sides of the selection are not parallel to the borders of the image?  Can this be done with either or both marquee tools?  I'm using Elements 10 and Photoshop CS5 on a Windows 7 platform.  Thanks.

  • When pressing Enter/Return to commit  a marquee selection the Feather box turns white for input!?

    When pressing Enter/Return to commit a marquee selection the Feather box turns white for input (and I'm not trying to chage the feather values)!? 
    Pressing Enter/Return should commit the selection but it doesn't why? I have not changed any short-cut preferences in PS CS6.
    When I use the Marquee or Lasso tool and make a selection and I'm happy with the selection, I press the Enter (PC)/Return(Mac) and the the "marching ants" should disappear...
    this has always worked until today!?
    Now, when I press the Enter key, the Feather box (next to the Anti-alias) on the upper left corner goes from grey to white and wants me to change the value?

    I was not able to reproduce the behavior you mentioned, though I don't normally make a practice of using the Enter key for that function (I tend to double-click to close the selection).
    Nor could I reproduce the behavior by holding down a modifier key.
    Have you tried restarting Photoshop?
    Rebooting?
    Resetting Photoshop's preferences to defaults?

    Also I have noticed opened windows that I have not opened.
    I have verified the sharing folder and also the remote access but it not let me turn it off.
    Also I have add a password to my computer and even using the same one it looks like is not working.
    The I photo stopped working, Mac Mail does not let me add rules (this is from one day to the other)
    The computer is mine, the internet I use is payed by me with a password. I did not give permission to anyone to use my computer or share my files.
    In system preferences in the sharing folder is showing everyone and staff.
    My computer is private I do not own a company and I do not have a network set up in my house.
    I had my photos removed from my computer and even after trying to reinstall I photo and fix the Mac Mail is not working.
    I am receiving emails saying that I have sent emails to people that I do not know and including in a time where I am working and not using the computer.
    Any suggestions in how to fix this issue?

    With the multitude of issues you have I would take it to an Apple store or AASP and have them sort it out. Then I would sign up for Apple camp or one on one.

    Create Report Categories                                                                               
    In this step, you define the report categories and determine the layout
       of the standard selection screen for these report categories. You can 
       create report categories for programs or queries that are based on the
       PNP or PNPCE logical databases.                                                                               
    The definition of report categories is divided into two sections:                                                                               
    o   In the Change Report Category view, you define general attributes 
           such as sort order, input fields for date, and so on.                                                                               
    o   In the Change Selection Criteria view, you define which selection 
           fields of the logical database should be avaliable on the selection
           screen.                                                                               
    Example                                                                               
    You want to set up your system so that your employees can only start  
       evaluation reports for Payroll if they use a payroll area. Within a   
       payroll area, you should be able to select according to personnel     
       number. Additional selection criteria should not be possible and you  
       should not be allowed to enter a sort sequence.                       
    Standard settings                                                                               
    The standard system already contains report categories. You can find the 
    attributes of the report categories in the table.                                                                               
    Note the following five report categories in particular:                                                                               
    o   Report category ' ' is the SAP default report category for     
        programs that are based on the PNP logical database.                                                                               
    o   Report category PNPCE is the SAP default category for programs that

    9.  Choose the subactivity Permitted selection criteria.                                                                               
    10. Choose Edit -> New entries.                                                                               
    11. In the Select option field, use the input help to select each field    
        that should be available on the selection screen.                                                                               
    12. Select the checkbox in the 1.page column, if you want this selection   
        field to be available directly when you call the selection screen.                                                                               
    Further notes                                                                               
    13. If you want to copy entries, you still have to enter the selection     
        parameters again in the subsequent screen.                                                                               
    o   If you create the report category '000000000', a selection screen is   
        generated according to report category '00000000'for all reports for   
        which a report category has not explicitly been assigned.                                                                               
    Assign Report Categories                                                                               
    In this step, you assign a report category to your reports.

    You have created your own report, for example ZPCTEST1, and would like
        it to have the selection screen that corresponds to that of the

    Yes of course its Photoshop. Cut the person out copy to clipboard paste onto toe brick wall document  and texture the layer using a displacement map for the brick wall. Look for Photoshop tutorials on using a displacement map.

    Check the code snippet below: Here 'XXXX' is the table for your select query.
      DATA L_DS_CLAUSES TYPE RSDS_WHERE.
      MOVE 'XXXX' TO L_DS_CLAUSES-TABLENAME.
      READ TABLE DYN_SEL-CLAUSES WITH KEY L_DS_CLAUSES-TABLENAME
                                 INTO L_DS_CLAUSES.
      SELECT * FROM XXXX
              WHERE field1 IN ...
               AND   field2 ....
               AND (L_DS_CLAUSES-WHERE_TAB).
          PUT XXXX.
      ENDSELECT.
    You can also try using the FM 'RS_REFRESH_FROM_DYNAMICAL_SEL' passing SY-CPROG in curr_report and 'M'  for mode to get the dynamic selection screen values.

  • Master objects wanting to be made selectable

    I've applies a picture to my master page to make a watermark for all the pages of my document. This image is about as big as the entire page. The trouble arises from the fact that now, whenever I double-click anywhere in my document, rather then selecting a word, it drops down a sheet asking if I want to make the object selectable. No! All I want to do is select individual words! Is there any way to get Pages to stop thinking that I want to edit the master image?

    Try making it selectable, then click Arrange > Send Backward. Then Format > Advanced > Move Object to Section Master.

    I work for a newspaper, we want to rotate ads on refresh at random. We are looking to stop using our current programmer. We just need to figure this out. I want it to rotate like THIS. Is there a fairly simple way to do it in dreamweaver?

    In the following example let's assume you have 4 images in your root directory sequentially numbered 1.jpg, 2.jpg, 3.jpg, 4.jpg
    Use php to create an array of the file names and then randomize the array. Then simply echo the results of the random array.
    On page.php put this:

    If you have more images but you'd like to limit the number that's rotated on pageload then change the limiting number in the array_rand function to correspond to the number of random images you'd like displayed. Let's say you want to only display 5 random images out of 10 possibilitites...

    To this:

  • How to make a rotating Item Select for a GUI design

    Hello, I am working on this non profit GUI project and need to make a high-fidelity prototype with the graphics I created. Most of my experience was in web design and i usually used Axure RP pro for making prototypes which works great for web but this GUI is clearly for a video game and thus some of the way menus work are a bit more sophisticated and "flashy" so I decided to use well, flash. Thing is I have very little experience with the action script side of flash and i just need to get a working prototype out asap, I don't have to make anything work perfectly, just enough to get the point across
    My question is on this rotating item select panel. How would i go about using those glowing orange arrows to rotate the whole set of items around the "equip" button when pressed? and how would I program each item to scale up when it snaps as the selected item? And of course the stats change when the item snaps as well.
    I greatly appreciate any help that can be provided on this.

  • Marquee selection in CS4 "crops" to image edges. How to reset?

    In CS3, when you make a large selection using the circular marquee (ie: alt-drag until the selection grows past the image edges), it maintains the full selection.  But in CS4, it crops to the edges of the image.  Is there an option to fix this so marquees behave like they did in CS3?

    To answer the question, yes. But... drawing a marquee and then dragging it out works irrespective of layer content.
    Just checked again:
    1/ In CS3, drawing marquee, irrespective of content, retains the circular shape even if exceeding the canvas.
    2/ In CS4, irrespective of content, marquee crops to the two sides of the canvas with the circular shape that was inside.
    3/ In both CS3 and CS4 you can draw a marquee within the canvas and then drag it out
    Maybe there's a setting in CS4????
    PS - I just cannot imagine any Selection encompassing any area, where no pixels can be selected, as there are none.
    Hunt... that doesn't make sense... of course you can draw a marquee / selection without content... It's the copying / cutting /etc. that will be affected...

  • Marquee selecting audio region then hitting DELETE crashing Logic

    When I marquee select and audio region and hit delete it crashes Logic everytime. Is it a setting I have maybe unknowingly checked off that restricts the use of marquee? It happens when I marquee just audio AND audio+blank space. How am I supposed to trim as I go along?
    OK, now it's working, but I'm not going back to the original place where it was happening. Is it possible that one little piece of audio gets corrupted?
    This has happened a couple times just like this...I'm halfway through posting a message on this topic and it self-corrects, but then when it happens again I'm kind of scratching my head again.

    Well... it really sounds like the project itself is corrupted, that's one of the reasons all project files won't load from a certain point on.
    Try this.
    Reboot the Mac.
    Open the Applications folder and boot Logic from it's icon.
    As soon as the Logic Logo/graphic window appears on the screen hold down the control key. You will see a message pop up that says something like "Launch the Core Audio Driver" there will be yes/no choice available... select NO.
    Go to the File menu and selct "open" go find your project file and see if it will open. If it does.. delete the audio file in question... however.. I would also look at any plugins you recently installed and are possibly using in this project...this sounds more like a plugin problem rather than an audio file problem, but that's just a gut feeling.
    Anyway, if it opens delete whatever you suspect and save under a different name.
    Reboot Logic and see if it can load the project.
