I want to save everything I need for a project

I was just looking at an old project I had. I started checking some of the support media files. For example, I have 3 .aif files that I use for the sound track. I clicked on them and reveled them in Finder. To my surprise, they are in my iTunes music folders. So I created a folder in my project folder and copied each music file over. Then I found a still image I used. This time it was in my iPhone library. This was a little troubling. What if I want to move this project to another computer and then realize my project backup doesn't have these files.
Is there a rule of thumb when creating a project to always store your media local to the project before you link to them?
Also, I did the same with the clips I had and to showed them in a scratch folder. Do I need to copy these over as well? In one case I had a huge Untitled1 file in my Capture Scratch->ProjectName directory. Do I need to back this stuff up as well to preserve this project?
Obviously these are probably nube questions. I apologize if they are.

That DVD is great (I'm biased, I made it) in terms of showing you HOW footage is referenced by FCP. FCP just makes POINTERS, it doesn't move anything. Organization has to be done on the finder level. OR, if you want something to organize for you, I can't recommend this software plugin enough:

The one thing I learned years ago, and have re-learned during this process, is that nothing beats a documentation process you create yourself. You already learned that someone else's brain-child of a recording process does nto always work for another.
I have 2 Excel spreadsheets used to "incrementally build" the final list of commands I need, but it uses several TABs on two separate Excel spreadsheets and many cell-fomulas on one TAB that refer to other TABs.
In short, ask yourself how you would record the food/calories you eat, and start building the process. You may be very surprised at how talented you really are at creating effective processes.

How can I point the premiere to a blank folder and bring only the files needed for the project

As Steve points out, there are really three programs in the Premiere and Photoshop Elements "suite," PrE, PSE and then Organizer, which links between the two, and is an Asset cataloging program. Because of the commonality of the GUI (Graphic User Interface), there can be confusion as to exactly which program one is in.
If you launch just PrE, and not Organizer (can be launched from within either PrE, or PSE), the only Assets/media that you will see is that, which you have Imported into your Project.

How do I save just the video and audio I need for a project

I typically run 3-4 video cameras at an event that lasts 2 hours, but only want to keep about 30-60 min of the video. I don't always have the time to do more than a rough edit and am looking for a way to: 1 maintain the original quality , and 2 get rid of the excess. The rough cut would obviously take only i/4 to 1/2 the 84GB of space the raw video does.
What format can I export it to that will do this. My cameras all record in ACVHD and I dont see that as an option for export.

First I would find out what the pixel size of the frame is. Next export your photos to a folder on the Desktop using Custom size requirements and put in the maximum frame pixel dimension and a quality level of medium or less (depending on the quality of the frame). Give the folder a name like "DigitalFramePhoto" and copy that folder to the SD card. You'll need a card reader to do that.
The reason you need to put the folder into a folder is that the SD card is formatted for PCs and will only take a limited number of files at the root directory. Putting them into a folder and loading the folder gets around that limitation.

I just have the normal app and have had no issue with it. I think the only bug I've heard of is sometimes people start a new document and the Docs to Go will not acknowledge the input of a wifi keyboard until you type a few characters on the on screen keypad, but that may have been fixed.
I find documents easy to find. I have two main folders on my iPad, the desktop folder which has my 'to be kept synced' documents and then another folder with the documents i've put on it permanently. It lists them alphabetically so my only issue finding things is scrollling down 300+ documents.
One thing that I think the premium app has is the ability to access documents via the internet.
How I do it is, I have my document in the sync folder. I open up the docs to go desktop app, open up docs to go on the iPad, tap the sync button and the documents sync...so you do have to have wifi. not sure if that's an issue or not. It's never taken me more than a few seconds to sync.
I do konw that you can buy the basic version and upgrade for the cost difference, so you can always experiment and upgrade if necessary.

Does my old HDD have everything I need for transfer to the new MBP?

I have last year's 2.4 GHz MBP (with an upgraded 7200 RPM drive installed). Can I just transfer my existing HDD to the new MBP, or will there be a problem with not having the correct drivers (i.e. for the new Penryn processor or upgraded, 512 MB VRAM)?
It this IS going to be a problem, can I just re-install 10.5.2 (keeping everything else) from the new CDs that come with the computer (or will it not even let me get that far)?

PhotoShop CC cannot open .PSB files, wants to save everything as .PSB's

Is PhotoShop CC corrupting my files? I try to save them and it keeps making them .psb file types. When I turn right around and try to re-open the file it just created, PhotoShop gives me an error message that the .psb is not a PhotoShop file type. What's up? I tried opening a week's worth of files so far and am getting the same message. H E L P !!!
If I try to save them in another format, PhotoShop is changing the resolution from my very high resolution to a crappy very LOW and totally useless resolution.

A common way to foul up saving files is to copy old plug-ins, but if you don't remember doing that then chances are that's not the problem here.
I have a hunch that if you were to grab your screen at the time Photoshop is insisting you save your file as .PSB, save the screen grab as a JPEG, and post it here that something may be revealed that will help lead to a solution to the root cause of the problem... Could you do that (making sure to move the Save As dialog so that we can see things like the tabs and other options in Photoshop)?

In your code you are:
1. setting page2_btn and p3_first_btn to visible false, then you set an event listener and function for page1_btn.
2. setting page2_btn to be visible true and setting an event listener and function for that button.
3. setting p2_first_btn to be visible true and setting an event listener and function for that button.
If all of this code is in the same frame, then you are turning all of the buttons' visible properties to true.
If you only want one of those buttons to be visible at any one time then set the visible property for page2_btn to true at the end of the function turnpage2 and do the same for p2_first_btn.
Something like this:

p3_first_btn.visible= false;

Help needed for changing Project Facets

I am facing a problem in publishing a dynamic web project on workshop for weblogic 9.2. i have set the java compiler settings to 1.3. the error displayed is "Java compiler level does not match the version of the installed Java project facet. at ...<web project name goes here>"
I checked the project facet settings as Java 5.0. this however is not editable. Is building an Ant script the way forward and if it is, what is the tag specific to project facet settings?

If your footage is DV NTSC, it is anamorphic if it's widescreen. You should be able to simply use the "Easy Setup" for DV NTSC Anamorphic and edit your heart out.

Have you tried renaming the document something very short and simple?
