I want to set up Hot mail

Now when I click on a web site email button I get a small windo saying there is no e-mail setup

No it isn't possible. You can only create and sync mailboxes on the iPad if you have an IMAP email account. If you set up your email account on the iPad and your additional folders didn't sync, you do not have IMAP.
There is no setting by which you can create smart mailboxes on the iPad.

  • Want to set up .mac mail on Windows Outlook

I "thought" I was filling in the blanks properly to set up a new account.
Obviously not. I cannot get mail to SEND.
Can someone please give me dummie step-by-step information on what to put in each of the blanks and do I need to use any advanced settings.
    Or any other secret tips.
This is so frustrating for something that should be so simple. Argh!!!

    *Microsoft Outlook 2002 / 2003 / 2007*
The following steps are the same whether the account is being configured for IMAP or POP, except where noted.
    1. From the Tools menu, choose E-mail Accounts.
    2. Choose Add a new e-mail account, then click Next.
    3. Choose either POP or IMAP, then click Next.
    4. In Your Name, enter what you would like your recipients to see when they open a message from you, such as your full name, company name or even a nickname. Below that, enter your full .Mac email address.
    5. To the right, enter mail.mac.com as your Incoming mail server (IMAP or POP).
    6. The Outgoing mail server (SMTP) is smtp.mac.com.
    7. The User Name field should already be filled with the first part of your email address (before the @ symbol). Enter your password below.
    8. Click More Settings.
    9. Click to the Outgoing Server tab and enable the "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" option. "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" should also be selected.
    10. Click the Advanced tab.
    11. If you would like to use a secure connection to the .Mac servers, enable both of the options for "This server requires a SSL-secured connection." The Incoming server (IMAP) port number automatically changes from 143 to 993, but you will need to manually change the Outgoing server (SMTP) from 25 to 587. If you are configuring the account as POP, the Incoming server changes from 110 to 995.
    12. For POP accounts, you will also see the option to leave a copy of messages on the server. If you decide not to turn this on, your messages will be deleted from the server immediately after being downloaded to your computer.
    13. Click OK.
    14. Click Next.
    15. Click Finish.

  • Setting up a mail account

I have a webmail account which I want to set up on 'mail' on my ipad2. I have instructions from the webmail site on how to do this, and I have followed it to the letter. When I try to access it on the 'mail' app I receive a message saying 'Cannot get mail. The connection to the server failed'.
I already have 2 gmail accounts which I use on the mail app, so I know the mail app works. Has anyone else had this problem when trying to add a Microsoft Exchange webmail to the mail app? And better still, does anyone know how to resolve it?
    Thanks,
    Richard.

Issue resolved. In case anyone else ever has this...
The instructions I had was to add the account as an Exchange account. I deleted that as it was not working and set it up again as Other when you make the selection in Options>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Add Account>Other
This little change made all the difference.

  • Setting up a mail list

I want to set up a mailing list for my website but I dont want everyone seeing the list of email addresses. Is there a way I can hide the cc list?

Use the BCC line. (You may need to show it, using the appropriate item in the View menu.)

  • How can you set up a mail group

I want to set up different mail groups how do you do that

While the pad guide suggests you can do it within contacts on your computer, then sync the groups to the pad, i have never been able to get that to work.  There are a couple of apps that do a good job, specifically mail shop, and whT i think is the best, group e mail.   Group e mail also allows for some attachments, which is also a benefit not in the normal mail app.  Take a look in the app store, and read the reviews to find the one you want.

I have an Apple ID with a single  e mail address. I want to set multiple addresses in the same ID. Can I? If so how?

    Howdy there johnzcarp,
As I understand it you want to have more than 1 email address under your Apple ID. You can have what are called Alternate Email addresses associated with your Apple ID and this article will help you get those setup:
Manage your Apple ID primary, rescue, alternate, and notification email addresses
    Alternate email address
You can add one or more alternate email addresses for use with Apple services such as Game Center, FaceTime, Find My Friends, iMessage, and OS X notifications.
Go to My Apple ID (appleid.apple.com).
Select “Manage your Apple ID” and sign in.
    Add an alternate address:
Select Add Email Address, then enter your alternate address. Apple will send a verification email to that address. Didn't receive the email?
Follow the instructions in the email to verify the address.
    Edit an alternate address:
Select Edit next to the address, then enter the new address. Apple will send a verification email to that address. Didn't receive the email?
Follow the instructions in the email to verify the address.
Delete an alternate address: Select Delete next to the address.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Take care,
    Sterling

This sounds like the age old problem with keychain & Safari. I don't know of a way to solve it without using something like 1Password.
The iOS app has it's own built in browser, so it has more control over what gets autofilled. Safari on OS X has an 1Password extension that handles account selection & autofill etc.
Keychain is great in principle, but it quickly falls down when you need tight integration with many ID's & different use cases (work, home etc).
I'd suggest you submit feedback to Apple about your thoughts. I did so years ago about this issue & this is how far we have come (back to the point where me.com synced passwords) :^)
    http://apple.com/feedback/macosx.html
Other tools like lastpass or keypassx may also help if you want to truly segregate password storage, but that doesn't fix autofill, the way around that issue is to dedicate one browser for work.

  • I want to set up an email alias but I keep being told I need to access "preferences" in mail. I don't seem to have that open when I go into mail it takes me straight to my inbox.  Thanks for any help.

Hi. I am new to using an iPad. I have set up an icloud email address for use by all the family.. I want to set up my own as my pop email does not seem to work well on this apple platform. I have tried to self help but I'm being asked to access the icloud mail preferences. I can't seem to do that. When I go into my mail app it takes me straight to my in box. I can't find a way of accessing preferences. Can someone help please?

An Alias would be an email address that is delivered to a different account's inbox.
For instance if you have  [email protected] and have [email protected] Then [email protected] would be an alias if mails from that address arrive at the icloud address.
If you want to add a completely different account, with a spearate inbox, like an account in hotmail and one in say yahoo mail. Then as has been pointed out, you need to go into the  Settings Icon, Tap on Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and then on add account. The iPad has several services preconfigured, you can tap on one of those from the list to setup an email for that service. Such as Hotmail, Gmail etc...
Or you can tap on other to add a personal pop3 or imap type email like from your office, or your school.

The only way to do so is with an IMAP account via server stored mailboxes which must be created with an email client used on your computer or via webmail access for the account using a browser. Once an additional server stored mailbox is created and available on the server, it will also be available on the iPhone automatically.
This is not available with a POP account.

  • How Can you get your hot mail.

How can I use mail on my Mac to get my hot mail like i did with outlook on my PC.?
Mac Minni   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    Hello,
If you want to use MSN / Hotmail with Apple's mail, check out the program HTTPMail Plugin at:
    http://www.automagic-software.com/downloads.php
You can also download it from SourceForge:
    http://sourceforge.net/projects/httpmail-plugin
And, strangely, while both the developer's site and SourceForge lists the latest version as 1.47 - Tiger release 2005-11-25, I found a 1.48 release at:
    http://mac.softpedia.com/get/Internet-Utilities/httpmail-plugin.shtml
    And also:
    http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/10842
    And also:
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/18189
I just downloaded the 1.48 version, and it is in-fact a 1.48 release. So, that would appear to be the most current version. Perhaps the normal / direct sites just haven't been updated yet.
You can see a screen-shot and brief description of the older 1.46 version at:
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/email_chat/danielshttpmailplugin.html
The 1.47 version of the httpmail plug-in was released in November of 2005. But, the 1.48 version was apparently released in March of 2006.
It is not a "universal binary". It is a PowerPC only program / plug-in.
This is not an issue if you are using a PowerPC Mac. You can just install it and use it.
As for Intel Macs, it will install, but not run in a Intel Native program.
If you want to use a PowerPC plug-in with Mail on an Intel Mac, then you have to set Mail to run in PowerPC mode through Rosetta.
That will enable the plug-in to work. But, that means running mail through Rosetta which may be slower.
Just to be safe, you might actually want to set mail to run in Rosetta before you install the plug-in. That would probably be the safest route.
Here's a document about forcing a program to run in Rosetta.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303120
Give this a try and see if it works for you.
    Hope this helps.

  • How do i get my icloud email account set up in mail on our new mac.

How do i set up my iCloud account on our new Mac  My family have set up their Sky, gMail, & hot mails accounts really easily yet mine just woun't work keep hetting a message unable to conect to outgoing mail server.
why are 3rd party accounts so easy to set up and my apple one keeps failing  Help...

Thanks - its 1 month old (max), the OSX version is 10.8.4 we already have iCloud set up on my iPhone 4S & this iMac.
I try to tick mail in the cloud menu but get an error message telling me "iCloud mail couldn't be enabled from the iCloud Preference Pane. Open mail and add iCloud account from Mail preferences"
when I do that i get the message " the icloud IMAP server p15-imap.mail.me.com is not responding. Try checking the network conection, and that the server name is correct. Otherwise, the server may be temorarily unavailable.  If you continue you may not be able to recieve messgaes.
we thought the incoming server name looked odd (p15- imap.mail.me.com) but its greyed out and can't be edited even though other 3rd party accounts can.
really don't want to have to ditch the iCloud email account as i use it the most & loads of friends contact me on it
But been trying with my Dad all afternoon to fix it and are both stumped.
Any help would be really appreciated
    Thanks

  • Help! I have a new iPhone 5s. My husband just lost his 4s, so I want to give him mine. Want to use same Apple ID so we both have access to itunes/apps purchases. Want to separate contacts, messages, mail, etc. I cannot change iCloud address.

Help! I have a new iPhone 5s. My husband just lost his 4s, so I want to give him my 4s. We want to use same Apple ID so we both have access to itunes/apps purchases. Want to separate contacts, messages, mail, etc. I cannot change iCloud address on 4s iPhone. Also, when I tried to change iMessage I got a message that if I deleted my id (which seemed to be the only way to get my husband's I'd there), I would not be able to receive iMessages on any device.
Would someone kindly tell me how to set up th 4s for my husband so that we can keep our info separate? It would be most appreciated! Thanks!!

    Hey Fagen!
You will want to see the following article for guidance on achieving the result you wish to achieve:
What to do before selling or giving away your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5661
I would just follow the instructions from this article to give your unused 4s to your spouse. Since you have already started using your 5s, you will still be receiving iMessages on that phone and will have no need to receive them on a device that has been replaced. Thanks for coming to the Apple Support Communities!
    Cheers,
    Braden
