I am trying to share adocument via - email and I am getting a message that says that Iworks has been discontinued- How do I work around this?

Sharing a document made in any program in a email is not dependent on whether that program is still available or not. The only requirement for the person receiving the email with the Doc attached is if they have a program that can open it.
iWorks is still available although only the newer version, that is unless you have a DVD disc of the iWorks install files. If you have an older version of iWorks on DVD you can install that, depending on the version of iWorks and whether or not it is compatible with the version of OS X you are running.

Thanks for your help Brij011 - much appreciated. Apologies as I'm a newbie but I've looked at the info for synching and I appear to have all the switches flicked on my iPad. Does the iPad and iBooks only sync in iCloud for purchases as I appear to be doing something wrong. I could sync ok when books was in iTunes but since migrating to Mavericks I think I'm doing something wrong!!

When I go into system preferences, then iCloud, then manage, it does not let me view what is there only says: ex: The documents stored inside Pages take up 623.3KB and gives me the option to: Delete Documents and Data. It does not let me see what files are there. I think it is time for me to go back to my apple store and get more acquainted with iCloud and storage and how to manage it. I had some issues with my mac about a month ago after downloading an updated version. The issue was related to syncing, iCloud, iTunes, calendar and storage. You can move the iTunes folder to a separate drive on your pc an then configure each account to use this drive / folder as iTunes library ... The problem is, that iTunes by default stores everything in your personal music folder which is separate for each user account in windows (and by default is on "C" drive).
I create a separate partition on every pc/laptop (and map a drive name) where I store music, videos and other mass data. This will also keep the "C" drive small, which is backed up from time to time and so my backup is also small.

Ok 1st one. The warning restriction message relates to this line in main.cf:
smtpd_helo_restrictions = permit_sasl_authenticated permit_mynetworks check_helo_access hash:/etc/postfix/helo_access reject_non_fqdn_hostname reject_invalid_hostname permit reject_invalid_helo_hostname
The last reject occurs after the single word "permit" and is ignored.
However, that's not the problem.
I'm not exactly sure what's happening, but this might be a clue.
It would appear that either postfix is not being able to create the socket for private/policy or it's somehow created with the wrong permissions. You might need to ramp up the debug level to get a better idea.
You could check if it's being created by "netstat -a | grep private/policy" in terminal.
My guess is that it's not being created because there is no setup statement in your master.cf file, but I don't understand why postfix would be looking for it if it isn't set up. Private/policy I think relates to grey listing. Maybe gives you a hint.

I want to turn off Documents and Data iCloud syncing (in Sys Prefs on iMac) but it insists on deleting all docs from my iMac! HELP!

I don't want to sync my 'Documents and Data' with iCloud any more (iMac, iPhone and iPad). When I go into iCloud in System Prefs and try to uncheck the Documents and Data box it tells me 'all docments stored in iCloud will be deleted from this Mac'. Really need to keep all my docs and quite shocked that iCloud would even consider deleting them from my iMac. Does anyone know any way round this other than backing everything up and restoring it after it's been deleted? Thanks!

Hi doodlebuglondon. I understood you throughout the thread as I have the same situation. I turned it on, then decided immediately to turn it back off. It then gives you the scary warning, assuming you understand under what circumstances documents got stored in the iCloud. Like you, I had no idea. But I did see 5 GB of 5GB available on iCloud Storage, which was a hint. So I opened a folder with some Pages documents, turned off Documents & Data, clicked the big scary "Delete from Mac" button. If it had really deleted my iWorks documents, like you, I would have had to restore perhaps 40 or 50 disparate folders. Whew!
Did it work out OK for you? I note you were very clear in pointing out you hadn't actively put anything in iCloud, but who knows whether Apple magically puts stuff in iCloud for you. I couldn't find that explained anywhere in Apple's "instructions", but I'm sure it's buried in there somewhere.

When you log into the Desktop for File Sharing from the MBP, use the Desktop's Username & Desktop's Password, & vice versa if logging into the MBP from the Desktop.

The ID for iTunes must be the same on both devices for it to automatically download purchases made on the other phone.
For example, if you have been using [email protected] for iTunes, continue to do so. One of you could also use [email protected] for their iCloud account and the other one use [email protected] for theirs, alternatively you could use [email protected] and [email protected] for the two separate iCloud accounts.

You can upload them from Mac to iCloud and then download on the iPad. They only directly sync between iOS devices. The Mac version of Pages has more options that are not available on iOS. If you use a font that is not available on iOS it will change the font. Some layout options aren't available either.

You can use one Apple ID for purchasing (App Store & iTunes Store) and shared with your child whereas your child uses a different Apple ID for Game Center, e-mail, FaceTime, iMessage. Even on iCloud there you'll get an extra 5GB free.

HELP!? Remove 1 page from long document and shift all the rest pages

I am facing to following problem:
I have a long document with facing pages. Now I need to remove one left page in the middle of the document and shift all the rest pages one step forward. It means from all right pages do a left and vice versa (started from the page that was removed). There is a continous text int the whole document and left/right strip made from different photos.
To clarify the situation I am attaching the preview. I have deleted page no.12 and I need to shift page 13 to left, 14 to right after 13, 15 to left, 16 to right after 15 and so on....
Is there any simple way how to do it?

It looks to me as if you may something else going on here. Are you using right-to-left text here so the document binding would be onthe right when the book is closed? If not, your problem is not with page 13 so much as it is with the earlier pages.
Unless you force it to do otherwise by disabling page shuffling someplace, in left-to-right documents using facing pages ID will always put odd numbered pages to the right of the spine and even to the left, the opposite for right-to-left documents. In either case, it seems like you have page shuffling disabled either for the whole file or for a selected spread. You can re-enable it from the menu in the Pages panel. When ID asks if you want to maintain the current number of pages on a spread you should probably say no. Either pages 1-12 will swtch sides, or 13 and following will, and your spreads will rearrange to put two pages together as they should be.
If you have overridden master page objects, a side effect of switching sides on the spread will be that the overridden objects will remain and the new master objects from the other side of the spread will appear behind them.
