I want to stop sync of imessage in both iphone and macbook air

hey guys
i want to stop the sync of imessages between my macbook air and iphone 4s
can you people please in doing this

See this article:
Connect your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac using Continuity - Apple Support
You said "sync", so I think you mean have the iMessages display at the same time on both devices.  If that is what you mean, then
Settings > Message > Text Message Forwarding > [turn the Mac off] ... on your iPhone.
Otherwise, if you mean something else, the answer will appear in the article at some other place.

  • My ipad has stopped syncing my calendar. Both iPhone and ipad.  After going to the setting - mail, contacts, calendar my Ipad has no where under the calendar category for default calendar.  How can I get my calendar to sync between iPhone and ipad???

Up until recently my calendar were syncing (between my iPhone 4 & ipad mini). They are no longer synching.  I have searched and everything matches to all the resolutions, the problem is on my ipad under Calendars in the settings there is no option for "default calendar". Every other option matches to what is on my phone, just the default calendar option is missing.  The default email is the same for both.  Help!!!!
    Thank you

An interesting additional symtom is that items loaded in the PC (which immedialely duplicate to the iCloud calendar on eht PC - no worries, there) do not transpose the devices (as above) but, loading an item into the phone, it goes to the PC (which is fine, too).  But not to the iPad.  Interestingly, there fewer calendar display options on the iPad than on the phone.
I talked to Apple a few months ago (after ISO 5) - mainly about the 6000 plus addresses that suddenly appeared in my Contacts - and his advice was do all contact and calendar actions on the PC.  "icloud is still faulty"
So there we are!   I must have items and reminders in my PC - it is my main work station - and need them on my devices to avoid conflicts when away from my office.

    Hi bec1993,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities!
I believe there may be an issue revolving around the Apple iD or the iMessaging accounts being used on your iPhone and MacBook Air.
In order for iMessages to sync between iOS devices they need to use the same Apple iD. This basically will link all your iOS devices in n Apple ecosystem where they will all be synced across all your iOS devices.
The first thing to do is check if the iMessaging accounts are using the same Apple iD:
To do this first on the Mac go to the application Messages:
              1.          Click messages from the menu bar at the top of the screen
              2.          Click Preferences
              3.          Click Accounts, from here you will see all the places where you are getting messages to your MacBook.
              4.          Look at all the accounts where the iMessaging description is/the accounts that are sending and receiving iMessages on your MacBook Air. They all have iMessage in the description below the address
    Now go to your iPhone:
              1.          Go to settings
              2.          Scroll down to Messages
              3.          Make sure that iMessage is turned on
              4.          Then go to Send and Receive and click this
              5.          Make sure that the Apple iD at the top of the screen matches address that was found in Step 4 of the first part and make sure they match up and are identical.
If they aren't - you can change the wrong one and this with fix your problem and have the messages resyncing again.
If they are the same and still not syncing, simply log out of the accounts on both sign out in the preferences on Messages OS X and log out in Messages iOS and then reenter your details in both correctly.
I hope this helps and please keep be posted as to if you succeed.
    Many Thanks
    iBenjamin Crowley

  • I am having trouble with syncing my iMessage on my iphone and Mac

. It was working perfectly yesterday but now all of the sudden my phone number is not showing up on my Mac Pro. I have tried logging in and out on both devices and I have deleted my apple ID from both and re-added them. It is still not working. I am confused because it was working perfectly the other day and I did not change a thing and then it started to mess up. Help??

    HI,
Is the number now absent from the Messages > Preferences > Accounts pane for the iMessages account or is it just Unticked ?
Normally deleting the Apple ID on the phone gets a prompt that it will be deleted from "all Devices" (I have presumed that mean the Mac as well as it leaves an email listed but unticked on mine).
However on an iPhone it should also then Unlink the iPhone Number and Apple ID link which you then have to recreate.
I would delete the Apple ID from  the iPhone and then restart it.
I would also restart the Messages app
Then I would re-add the Apple ID to the iPhone.

  • Synced times in ical between iphone and Macbook not the same

I have tried syncing my ical to my iphone using itunes and the times on my iphone are not the same as my ical. for example 1.30 pm for an appointment in my ical reads as 4.00am and the next day on my iphone calendar. How do I fix this?

Are both the iPhone and your Mac set to the same (local) time zone? Do you have Time Zone support turned on in iCal Preferences and in iPhone > Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar?

  • I just moved to Germany, I want to know if an adapter and converter is needed to charge my iPod, iPhone and MacBook Air is needed or can I simply use an adapter? Will the voltage automatically change?

I am having a really hard time with keeping my charger on the adapter/converter that I bought for my trip but I also bought an adapter and with that my charger doen't fall and my apple products would be able to charge withought me having to hold the charger in place. I want to know if the converter is needed or if I only need the adapter. I do not want to blowout my iPhone, iPod or my MacBook Air.

All that is requried is an inexpensive plug adapter. Apple's power adapters themselves will work with any utility power on Earth. Non-Apple power adapters may not.
I don't understand what you mean by having to hold the charger in place though.

  • Is it possible to sync hotmail between ipad, iphone and macbook air. My iphone and ipad are synced OK but cannot sync up with my (new) macbook air - neither maill nor contacts.

I have had ipad and iphone for a while and my mail, contacts and calendar are all synced up so that when I add or delete an item on one device it mirrors that on the other. Have recently purchased a macbook air but cannot get my hotmail to sync up - so I have to manage that separately from the ipad. Help!

  • Sync all iMessages with computer, iPhone and iPad

I just installed iMessage BETA on my Mac  OSX 10.7.4    How can I change the setting so that when I send from either my Mac, iPhone or iPad they all SYNC from the same place.  I send iMessages to friends and they say that they are getting them from 3 different place, 2 of my emails or my phone.  If I send from my computer their replies only come to my computer.  I would like to send 1 message (either from computer, iPhone or iPad) and have it come form ONE address and be on ALL my devices and when a person responds have it be on ALL devices.
    Please instruct.

On your mac log into Messages with the Apple id/email address you're using. Make sure in preferences that this is the account that's enabled and appears as the "address you can be reached at".
On your phone in Settings at Messages make sure iMessage is 'on". At "Receive At" enter and make sure the same Apple id/email address that you used on your mac is entered. You should then see below the Apple id "you can be reached for messages at " your phone number ( entered automatically ) and your email address. Below this is Caller id you will see your phone number and email address here. I have my phone number checked because not everyone I text will have my email address and thus would not recognize that it's from me. All my messages sync between my ipad, mac, and phone so I've left it this way with no issues.
On your ipad in Settings at Messages make sure that the "receive at" field shows your Apple id/email address that you've used and that it shows both in the Apple ID field and below at the "you can be reached for messages at" field.
On my mac, since I have two email, Apple id accounts I have to make sure that the correct one is selected for the Messages account. Initially the wrong one was checked causing a few problems. As long as you're using the same email address on each device and your phone shows you can be reached at two addresses - phone number and email you should be good to go.

  • Can I use my phone number in imessage for both iphone and ipad in the same chats?

I want to use iMessage from my ipad with my phone number not with my e-mail because most of my friends have not my e-mail under my name in their phones.
So what I want to is being able to talk in the same chat from my ipad and iphone with out showing my e-mail to the person who I'm talking with because that making the chat appears one to me but two to him.
Thank you and sorry for bad English ;)

On I pad it only work with E mails because the I Pad is not associated with your cell phone number.

  • Can i get all my imessages on both iphone and ipad?

I am getting some messages to my ipad and some to my iphone. Is it possible to get every message on both the new ipad and ipad 4s?
    Thanks

  • Contacts list deleted on both Iphone and macbook at sync

My whole contacts list randomly got deleted after sync from both my computer and iphone. How can I get them back? Also strangely the people in my favorites are still there but are listed as only phone numbers and not names. What happened?

You're not the only one, M. Boudreau. Today I noticed that I had multiple duplicates throughout my iPhone list of contacts. Some were true duplicates with all the originals info and others were just the name and no other info. I promptly started deleting them by hand. I plugged my phone in and it synched with my computer (a PC running Windows XP with Microsoft Exchange). Then, when I went to dial someone, their contact was suddenly missing. As it stands now, all my contacts from the letter E and higher are deleted. Of course, being synched with my desktop, all I have left on my desktop now is what was left (some of A through D) on my iPhone. HELP!!!!!

  • Notes won't sync from either iPad or iPhone to Macbook Air

So here is my problem. I have a yahoo account that allows my notes to go between my iPad and iPhone no problem, email works great too. BUT my notes won't sync up to my macbook, I've tried creating a new email account but every time I select the "notes" box I get the same error...
IF the stupid error is unknown then is there anyone out there that can tell me the mysteries of this magical unknown error so I can access my notes on my computer..please help. The account is a pop account, does that matter, should it be changed to imap? There are heaps of discussions about this and most of them are rabbit trails.

  • I want to synchronise music I have between ipnone 3g and macbook pro - I am told if I synchronise I will only have the music from my macbook and will lose my iPhone music of which there is much more.  How do I get all my music on both my iPhone and mac bo

I want to have all my music on my iphone and macbook (and pc if possible) but when I try to synchronise I am told I will lose any music from my iphone which is not on my macbook (there is much more on my iphone than my macbooK).  How do I keep all my downloaded and copied music and have it available on both machines (plus pc if possible)?

The music sync is one way only - computer to iphone.  The exception is itunes purchases: Without syncing:  File>Transfer Purcahses
The iphone will sync with only one copmptuer at a time.  Sycning with another will erase the current content of the iphone and replace it with content from the new computer.
