I have installed itunes, but when connecting the iphone, ipad or ipod it states the following:-

remove itunes, then install itune again.
I have done this on a number od times, but still having the same message coming up.
Please can you help me.
Kind regards
Caroline JonesLet's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.) -
I received this errir msg when I wants to sync my 3gs iPhone. And I already update my iTunes to 64-bit. "This iPhone cannot be used because the required software is not installed.Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install the 64-bit version itunes".
First make sue you are installing the 64 bit version of iTunes.
Second make sure it is iTunes 10.7 or later.
I would download a fresh copy of the 64 bit version of iTunes 11. After installation reboot your computer.
Before connecting your phone reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem. -
After downloading Itunes I get the message this Ipod cannot be used because the required software is not installed.Run the itunes installer to remove Itunes then install Itunes again

I just bought an iPhone 5, and tried to sync it to my iTunes account but when connected it says: “...cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 10.7 or later.” However when I try to get iTunes to update it says: “This version of iTunes (10.6.3) is the current version.” Can anyone help?

Thanks for your reply. My Mac is running 10.5.8: it's 4 years old. When I try to update the OS software, I'm told there are none available.
Be careful - there's a difference between update and upgrade. Your machine is saying there are no updates available, meaning no later versions of OS X 10.5 (Leopard). However, you can very likely upgrade - at least to OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard), and possibly then to OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion).
Updates are free, but upgrades cost a bit. That's the dirference. -
My iPhone 4S will not sync to iTunes. I've download the newest version of iTunes several times but when plugging my phone in it says "The iPhone cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 10.6.3 or later." HELP!
If you're using Windows try uninstalling iTunes and all of its components as by following this guide exactly: Windows XP or Windows Vista/7, then reinstall the latest version of iTunes. You must follow this guide exactly or it will not be successful. Note: uninstalling iTunes will only remove the application; it will not touch your iTunes library or data.

When connecting my iPhone I get the following message "The iPhone cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 10.1 or later. What does this mean? My computer has 10.4.
That's an issue with your system. Try removing the iTunes and the other APPLE software related from your system and reinstall it again.
Follow this if you're using XP: support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
Follow this if you're using VISTA/7: support.apple.com/kb/HT1923

I'm getting an error message saying iPhone 4S cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 11.1 or later. I've checked
Download itunes 11.1 from
www.apple.com/itunes/download/
from Safari. Not Google Chrome! It only offers 11.0.5 in google chrome. I had the same problem and fixed it by downloading the newest itunes (11.1) from Safari. -
Every time I connect my new iPad2 too my Sony laptop a pop up comes out saying " the iPad cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 10.5 or later. Can someone please help me!.
Download and install the latest iTunes. Once you satisfy that requirement the warning will go away.

This is getting so frustrating, I last synced my iphone in september and it worked fine, as i've just imported a new cd I wanted to sync to get it on my phone - anybody help to get a more uptodate software on my iphone, please
iTunes runs on your computer, not your phone. Install the latest version of iTunes on your computer. If you're using a Mac, and running OS X 10.5, you will need to upgrade OS X first.
