What exactly happens when you try to buy the app ? If you are trying to gift it then you will need a credit card on your account, gifting can't be done via your balance.

HT1338 I just updated my system to 10.6.8. New computer just out of the box, but I wanted to download Numbers from the App store and it says I need 10.7.4. How do I get this update?

I have a new IMac, purchased from my Dad that he never used. I just did the latest update to 10.6.8. I wanted to get "Numbers" on the computer from the App Store but it says I need 10.7.4. How do I get this? Everytime I try update it goes to 10.6.8. I am new to Apple and struggling a bit.

Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu and check the processor.
If it's a Core Duo Mac, you must install the DVD version of iWork. If you previously got a compatible version of Numbers from the Mac App Store, go to its home page and click on Support under Quick Links.
If it's a Core 2 Duo or better Mac, try purchasing Mac OS X 10.8 from the Mac App Store. If you get told that it's incompatible, phone the online Apple Store and order a download code for 10.7.

I don't want to sync my apps on itunes because it takes a long time to sync the whole phone. I have a iphone 4 with all latest updates and for some reason the have taken away my option where I don't need to sync my iphone. Some help please!

The "Sync Apps" option must be selected to control this functionality and then individual apps can be checked to sync or not. This functionality has not changed since the release of the iPhone and iOS.

Plug it into your computer. Tell it to sync with "this computer" instead of iCloud. You shouldn't have to remove any apps. Otherwise, you can save the app data by using i-FunBox ( http://www.i-funbox.com/ ) just go to the "devices" tab and select 'user applications' and select all of your apps and tell iFunBox to "copy to pc" you're done! You have them all backed up.

The 1G iPod can only go as high as 3.1.3. The 1G does not have an internal speaker or volume buttons on the upper left edge.

When I use find file http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/30073/find-file (which does tend to find files that "Finder" can't), it's not coming up with any other itunes library files that have been modified in the past week, which I know it would have been - unfortunately, I don't have a very recent backup of the hard drive. It would be a few months old so it wouldn't have the complete library on it....any ideas? I'm wondering if restarting the computer might help but have been afraid to do so in case it would make it harder to recover anything...I was looking at this thread https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4211589?start=0&tstart=0 in the hopes that it might have a helpful suggestion but it's definitely a different scenario.

Place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore via iTunes on your computer. Recovery mode bypasses the passcode (and erases the iPod). For recovery mode see:

Check the account area of the iTunes Store window on the right to check the balance. You must use the credit remaining, no refunds.
