I want to turn off iMessage for certain contacts
Is this possible? Sometimes, I love never missing a text from certain people. But for the majority, I don't need their texts going to my iPad, iPhone, Laptop, AND MacPro all at once. It's annoying having to delete them on each device.
Hi TimWB0216,
You can use the steps in this article to block certain people from sending you messages -
Messages (Mavericks): Block or allow messages
http://support.apple.com/kb/PH15035
At this time the people who are blocked are not synced across devices, so you would have to do this on each device. Your idea about doing so sounds interesting, however. You may want to submit it as feedback to Apple. Use this website -

Can I turn off iMessage for one contact?
My wife recently switched from the iPhone 4 to a Galaxy S3, and in order to be able to send her a text message, I have to turn off iMessage. Is there any way to turn it off for an individual contact instead of turning it off completely? Or can I tell my phone she no longer uses her Apple ID for imessage?
She should switch iMessage OFF on her iPhone, change her Apple ID password, delete her profile registeration.

Turn off iMessage for just one person
I have one friend that I text a lot who has an iPhone and I want to be able to text her using text message instead of iMessage. Another one of my friends only has an iPod though, so I don't want to turn off iMessage. Is there a way I could turn off iMessage for just my one friend?

How can I turn off imessage for just one of my contacts? Me and my husband just upgraded (both had iphone 4), I got the iphone 5s and he got he note 3. All my text to him automatically send as a imessage. Ive tried to delete his contact and then went back in and reentered it but that doesnt work.
Have your husband text the word "stop" to 48369. This should take his number out of the iMessage system.
Go into your settings under messaging and make sure the box to send as an SMS if iMessage is unavailable is checked.
Hopefully this will get your messages sending/receiving to each other. -

How to disable iMessage for certain contacts
I was wondering how to disable iMessage for certain contacts!
Try deleting the phone number from the persons contact and then re-entering it as a new number.
You don't have to delete the entire contact.
Worked for me. -
I recently replaced my iphone with a non-smart phone. now I can not receive messages from any iPhone users since they used to connect with me via imessage. I just don't get their messages. How can I turn off imessage when I no longer have an iphone?

How can I turn off messages for certain Action Center items?
I'd like to find a way to turn off messages for Windows Update, Network Firewall and Windows Backup. Ideally I'd like to do it with Group Policy however I can't find a policy for this. We're deploying Windows 7 right now and we'll need a solution that's domain-wide.Orange County District Attorney
Here's a script I made to uncheck Windows Update, Network firewall, Windows Backup for Windows 7 machines: (Just comment or uncomment both the Hold__ = True lines below)

Need to turn off iMessage for an iPhone that no longer works
My daughter broke her iPhone and the motherboard is fried. We got her an Android as a temporary phone until she is due for an upgrade in a few months. The problem is that when we try to text her on the new Andriod, on our iPhones (and any other iPhone that tries to text her) it still sends as an iMessage. Therefore she cannot receive any texts from us unless we turn off our iMessage (which causes us not to be able to receive other iMessages of course!). We went to the Sprint store, and they told us that we would need to turn off the iCloud for her phone, since Apple is recognizing it as still on and associated with her number. I cannot figure out how to do that since we can't access the phone settings. She is traveling this week alone with other family and I really need to be able to text her! She is 12. I appreciate any help.
This is an iPhone 4, with Sprint. We have 3 other iPhones, an iPod 4 and an iPad 2 on the same Apple ID account. We don't use the Cloud storage but I think the iCloud on the phone was turned on for a few things like Calendar.
Thank you in advance.Support profile is here:

She would have had to register the phone using her Apple ID/password.
Changing her Apple ID password is the only other way to fix this if you don't have access to the phone.
You can also "try" calling AppleCare. -

HT3529 How do i turn off iMessage for my phone number completely?
I got rid of my iPhone. I now have a Samsung Galaxy s4. All of my friends and family that had texted me using iMessgae before are now unable to text me because every time they try, it sends an iMessage. I am unable to recieve these messages from my phoe and it is really annoying. I tried turning off my phone number as a send & recieve option on all of my devices. I tried changing my password as suggested by Apple. IT STILL DOES NOT WORK. Does anybody out there have any idea on how to fix this?

It looks like if you don't have access to re phone you'll need to contact apple support. The link is in the article.
