I want to turn on touch ID for iTunes & App Store

When I try, the feature is grayed out. I looked at my settings for iTunes & App store and my Apple ID is entered and when I click it i have the option to 'sign out' so I believe I am signed in. Any ideas on how to enable this feature?

I have went in and enabled restrictions - it didn't work. I then enabled restrictions and disabled iTunes Store, Installing Apps, Deleteing Apps, and In-App Purchases and I am still not having luck with getting the option to tun this on. The 'requrie passwork' is also set to 15 minutes. See pictures as maybe I am in the wrong place.

Have you first gone to Settings > iTunes and App Store to ensure that you are signed into iTunes with your Apple ID? The following quote is from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5883

Touch ID for only App Store purchases??

I just got the iPhone 6 and I enjoy the Touch ID option. I enjoy using it and would like to continue doing so but I don't like having a lock on my phone. I only want to use the Touch ID as a substitute for a typed out password for Apple Pay and App/iTunes store. I can do this but it always sets up a lock on my phone as well. Is it possible for me to only use the Touch ID for the App Store and not have it to unlock the phone? I don't want any locks

No, TouchID can't be enabled for just the App Store. Personally, I find TouchID to be faster and easier than swiping to unlock the screen. Also, I know that if my phone is lost or stolen, there is much less likelihood that my personal data will be accessed by anyone else.

HT5552 Using PayPal for iTunes/App Store

I try to select PayPal as my payment option for iTunes/App Store, but when I select the PayPal icon and click the "continue" button, as directed, nothing happens. Why can I not select PayPal? All of my payment information is stored in PayPal, and I would like to keep it that way.

Unfortunately I am unable to create an itunes account as part of the process for doing so asks for my bank or cc details which I am not happy to provide.
I received an email from Apple support last night with the following link:

The link does not take into account that I already have an apple ID so instead of being able to follow all the steps I get asked to log in and review and this goes to a page requesting billing info with no 'None' or Paypal options.

Will apps still get updated automatically if I turn off push notifications for the App store?

I like that my apps currently get updated automatically, but I don't really want to see it. If I turn off all alerts/notifications for it, in Settings > Notification Center, will the automatic updates still happen?

To answer the question: Yes, the App Store will continue auto-updating all apps, even if you turn off all notifications/alerts for the App Store, and move it down to the "DO NOT INCLUDE" section in Settings > Notification Center

Does everyone need to use the same Apple ID/password for iTunes & App Store in iOS 8 Family share?

I just set up Family share on my 5S and my wife's 5, both running iOS 8. I am the organizer.
In order for my wife's purchases to be charged to my CC (per Family Share setup), does she need to be signed in under my Apple ID and password under Settings -> iTunes & App Store? Or, can she use her Apple ID (that she used with her previous App Store purchases)? Additionally, if she makes purchases in iTunes or the App Store under my Apple ID, does she need to enter my password?
If she's logged into "iTunes & App Store" on her phone, using her Apple ID, will it work?

Just tried to Change location on my app store, which was showing NewZeland instead of India and I was not been able to update in apps due to this.

Few days back I wanted to download BBM for iPhone to which I was diverted to New Zealand App Store automatically.
So whenever I tried to download apps from the AppStore it said, I wasn't in the region which I should be that is India and being in different region I can't download any app.
So I followed the instructions as above. After updating the region and the proceeding pages of the instruction. There was a deduction of money.
I didn't buy any gift card or anything neither I went to that page.

Validating account details for itunes/app store????

Im not sure if this is the correct post to put in here but there are so many to choose from!!
I updated a few apps from my iphone under app store app. It asked me for my password like always but kept saying apple id not available. my apple id is my email addy i have recently changed my email password though so assumed it was because of this!???
I came into apple website and changed my password and then tried update of apps via my iphone again. the new password was fine but then it asked me to validate my account details eg address and card details. is this normal??????

I just spoke with an apple rep and they walked me through a ton of stuff.
Ended up restarting a couple times they had me move the file "com.apple.appstore.plist" from Library/Preferences to my desktop and restart.
Then, logging in worked.

I'm trying to test my friend's (free) iTunes app, and followed Apple's own instructions to get an app store account without a credit card:http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2534
Unfortunately, every time I try to enter my info in iTues and submit, the response is "Your credit card was declined". This is VERY frustrating as I'm choosing 'none' and trying to sign up WITHOUT a credit card, there is no credit card to be declined?! Help?

You can only choose None for credit card if you switch to USA AppStore.
Just while registartion choose USA.

How to switch country for iTunes/App store on iPad?

I have an iPad 3 and took it on vacation in Europe and the UK. Now that I'm back, if I try to update my apps on the iPad it indicates:
"Account Not in This Store. Your account is not valid for use in the UK store. You must switch to the US store before purchasing."
All well and good, except:
1. I never intentionally switched to the UK store and don't know how that occurred
2. There is no explanation on how to switch to the US store
3. Every menu I've looked at has no options to change the store that I use
Does anyone know how to fix this on my iPad? My iTunes account is fine on all of my other Apple devices, so it's just the iPad that is the problem.

Go to the App Store and tap on the featured tab. Swipe to the bottom and tap on your Apple ID. Next tap View Apple ID. Then enter your password. Go to Country/region in the popup window and change to the U.S. store in there.

How do I switch off the Genius for iPad App Store?

How do I turn off the Genius for iPad App Store. Its recomendations are very poor.

I don't believe there's a way to "turn it off", per se. Can you not just not tap the Genius button? Unless I'm missing something, that's the only way you see Genius recommendations in the iPad's App Store app.
BTW, questions about the iPad will generally get the quickest and most applicable responses if posted in the iPad forums.

Have you tried signing out of your Apple ID, restart the iPad and then start all over again?
Go to Settings>iTunes & App Stores>Apple ID. Tap the ID and sign out. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Then go back to Settings>iTunes & App Stores>Apple ID. Sign in again. Then go to Settings>FaceTime>On. See if it will stay turned on and it it does, sign in and setup.

I have ios 7 and lately when im turning off cellular data for some apps when i leave settings and go back in they have turned on back again by themselves. It appears as if i cant turn off cellular data for the apps i want. Any tips?

I have ios 7 and lately when i go to settings-cellular and try to turn off cellular data for some apps it doesnt work. As i turn off cellular data for one app immideately after i exit settings and re-enter settings cellular data for that same app goes back on again by itself. That happens for most of my apps and is reqlly annoying. Whats more annoying is that when i am not using wifi even though the settings for cellular data for safari or facebook or some other app are turned on (since i cant turn them off as i mentioned) i get the message that cellular data is turned off for this app and i cant use the internet at all on cellular data. I have reset to factory settings and restored from backup and the problem persists. Is there some help or tips you can offer me?

Yes, you can copy songs that you ripped from a CD to your Home Sharing computer.
Turn on Home Sharing first on both computers. To do that, go to File > Home Sharing > Turn on Home Sharing. Enter your Apple ID and password.
Now go to your computer that you want to copy the songs to and connect to your Home Share. You can do that by clicking on the popover button located at the left top corner right below the play control buttons. Click on it and scroll to the bottom until you see your Home Share and select it.
Go to Music in your Home Share. Select the songs that you want to copy in your Home Share and click Import at the bottom right corner.
