my  sim is locked and does not want to unlock  with the code

  • How do I unlock the sim card if my iPhone 5 has not been activated?

I gave my iPhone 5 to my mom, so I restored it first (by going through Find my iPhone and deleting the phone and restoring it), and now my mom got a new nano sim card. When I enter it into the phone, it says "Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable."
When I try to activate it through iTunes, it says "The SIM card inserted in this iPhone is PIN locked. Please enter the PIN code of your SIM card and connect your iPhone to iTunes again". But how do I enter the pin code if the phone is not activated? I don't see any option of unlocking the pin, I only see "Choose language", then "Choose WiFi", and then it attempts to activate but fails every time.
What do I do? Thanks for your help.

If you are shipping back I assume you called Apple and they are sending you a box (as that is what they do). When you get it you will find:
    1) Details short instructions of what to do.
    2) Paper Clip
    3) Foam packaging
    4) Box (with foam in it too)
    5) Sleeve in Box inside
    6) Tape
    Instructions will say to
    1) back up phone (if you can via iTunes)
    2) Use paperclip to eject and keep SIM (put in spare phone if you have it)
    3) Put phone in sleeve.
    4) Put sleeve in padded box.
    5) Put box in padded shipping box.
    6) Use tape provided to tape shut.
    7) Remove outer shipping slip to reveal return slip (you don't have to pay for anything)
    8) Go drop off for shipping or call FedEx for pickup.

When sending in the phone for service you want to remove the SIM Card and do not put any accessories in with the box that came with your iPhone.

  • Network unlock vs sim card unlock?

Would there be a Network unlock code outside of the sim card unlock code or are they one in the same?

    Hey There
I would be happy to share the differences of a Network unlock and a SIM card unlock.
A Network unlock is more commonly known as a Carrier Unlock.  If your phone is unlocked from a carrier, it will work on another wireless carrier's network, request an unlock code online at att.com/deviceunlock.
A SIM Card unlock provides additional security beyond a screen lock, you can require a PIN code to prevent your SIM from being used in any device without entering the PIN code. If your PIN code is entered incorrectly more than three times, your device will request a PUK code (PIN Unlock Key) in order to unlock the SIM card.
    Thanks!

I wanted to know how to unlock my iphone, since I had to restore it and when it restarted, it appeared this message: "The SIM card que you currently have installed in this iphone is from a carrier that is not supported under the Currently actuvation policy that is assigned by the server activion. this is not a hardware issue with the iPhone. Please insert another SIM card from a supported carrier or request que this iphone be unlocked by your carrier. Please contact Apple for more information. "
I need help, I use my phone for everything enclusive to work. I appreciate if you can help. I'm from Brazil. My name and giullia.

Did you purchase this device from Apple or an authorized reseller? It sounds as if you had a device that was jailbroken/hacked to operate on your carrier. Upon updating the iOS, it is now locked back to the original carrier the device was locked to.
Only the carrier the device is locked to can authorize an unlock. You will need to make contact with that carrier and see if they provide unlocking services, and if they do, if you qualify for an unlock. Otherwise, you are out of luck. One that carrier can take care of the unlocking.

  • HT5163 I brought both an iPhone 5 and 3Gs from the US to Saudi Arabia.  I want to keep my iPhone 5 on the US conrtact but want to convert my iPhone 3Gs to a local phone.  Is it a simple matter of changing out the SIM card?

I brought both an iPhone 5 and 3Gs from the US to Saudi Arabia.  I want to keep the iPhone 5 under a contract in the US.  However, I want to use my iPhone 3Gs as a local phone.  Is it as simple as changing the SIM card in the 3Gs to use as a local phone.  Will I be able to receive emails on the 3Gs with a local SIM card?

  • PLEASE HELP: Don't have an upgrade yet for my Verizon plan, If i just purchase an unlocked iphone 6 can i transfer the SIM card from my iphone 5s and itll work?

I have an existing 2 year verizon wireless plan, really want an iphone 6 and dont mind paying the 650. If i purchase an unlocked iphone 6 from apple online can i just transfer the sim card from my current phone (iphone 5s) to the unlocked iphone 6 and itll work?
    Thank you!

If you purchase an unlocked phone from Apple, it will cost you $650 and it will only partially work on Verizon's network. So, your better off buying a phone at full retail from Verizon for the same $650. It will function properly and, as all Verizon iPhones are sold with the GSM side unlocked, you'll be able to use it on other networks later.

  • HT4623 I updated my iphone to the newest update but now it doesn't want to read my SIM card. Help!

I updated my iphone to the newest update but now it doesn't want to activate. It says the sim card I have it's not valid and that I need to insert the som card that came with my phone. Problem is my phone was given to me by a friend of mom's and he just gave me the phone I had to buy a new sim card. It has been working all right until now. Should I go buy a new sim card? Help!

Your phone is locked to a carrier.  Only a SIM from that carrier can be used to activate the phone.  Ask the "friend of your mom's" to which carrier the phone is locked.  You'll then need to contact that carrier and see if you are eligible to have the phone unlocked.  If not, the phone is useless to you.

  • Each time I turn off my Maxx, it locks the SIM card, need PUK to unlock

Each time I have to turn my Maxx off, it locks the SIM card and needs the PUK number to unlock it.  I'm so sick of this.  Can anyone please help me?  TYIA!

    Hello Matthew,
When I got my phone, I wanted to lock it so it required the 4 digit PIN code to get into it. I did that, using the "Set up SIM card lock" function, and, I just checked "SIM card lock settings" and it has a check mark beside "Require PIN to use phone".  It has never been set up for encryption.  I've only had it a few weeks.  I never tried to set up encryption, nor did I do anything that made the PUK number be required after my phone has been turned off.  It just started after I'd had it a couple of weeks.  I'm going to be traveling by plane quite often, and will have to turn off my phone.  I'm not sure what to do at that point.  Any help you can give me will be most appreciate!
    Thank you!!

  • Does an iphone4s become locked to the SIM card that you insert after you follow the steps given to unlock the phone? Thanks a mill

Does an iphone4s become locked to the SIM card that you insert after you follow the steps given to unlock the phone?
I just received the steps by email from meteor and I'm moving to OZ in September. I have the OZ SIM card I intend using over there but I don't want to end up locking the whole phone to the OZ network before I go there.
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated

That only happens when you purchase a supposedly unlocked phone from specific stores that say their unlocked but as soon as you insert a sim card they lock to that carrier... a trick (sort of)... that's something totally different than what you are about to do!

  • HT201328 My iPhone is from Japan and I want to activate it here in the Philippines because I'm living here. I have lost the original SIM from Softbank and replaced it with a new SIM card from Globe. How can I use the SIM card from Globe?

My iPhone is from Japan and I want to activate it here in the Philippines because I'm living here. I have lost the original SIM from Softbank and replaced it with a new SIM card from Globe. How can I use the SIM card from Globe?

You cannot. The iPhone is locked to Softbank, and only they can unlock it. Problem is that Softbank will NOT unlock the phone, as they do not offer iPhone unlocking.
Buy an iPhone in the Phillipines.
PS Before you go on a rant at Apple, be aware that Apple does NOT unlock phones and they do not set unlocking policies. The carriers (Softbank in this case) set the unlocking policy.
