I want to upgrade my 2008 Mac pro to the latest one, will it meet the requirement for the future Software that's coming out for the next four years?.

I'd wait. What can't you do that you need? You mean you want to buy a new model, then why not wait for an actual new one, not the two year old 5,1, when you need to and have outgrown.
Yours will run Mountain Lion. yours is 4 yrs old and still supported and has life left.

  • I want to upgrade my ram macbook pro 15'' without retina to 16gb and want more than 1600 hz

I have a Mac book Pro 15 inch without retina I wish to upgrade the RAM 4 GB to 16GB and I want to putting a ram with more speed then 1600 GHz can someone please tell me what is the maximum and if possible where can I buy it from it has to be compatible with my mac or else it's pointless.
    Regards Axl

Sorry, read the post as with retina.
    Standard RAM:
    4 GB
    Maximum RAM:
    16 GB*
    Details:
4 GB of RAM is installed as two 2 GB modules, no slots free. *Apple officially supports a maximum of 8 GB of RAM, but third-parties have determined that this model actually is capable of using up to 16 GB of RAM with two 8 GB memory modules. In the US (and many other countries), site sponsor Other World Computing sells memory -- as well as other upgrades -- for this MacBook Pro.

The link you posted is compatible RAM and from a reputable company. I bought my 2 X 8 GB modules from crucial when I upgraded my MBP RAM to 16 GB.
    Go with that kit.
Note that DDR3 1600 MHz RAM is the only type of RAM your machine takes.

May not be an upgrade issue ..
You have a fast processor. and 8GB of RAM is more than sufficient.  (The processor cannot be replaced)
Click your Apple menu  top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac > More Info > Storage
Make sure there's at least 15% free disk space. Less can slow the system down.
If your Mac seems to running slower, try the suggestions here > Mac troubleshooting: What to do when your computer is too slow | Macworld
If you have not done so, especially with school files stored on the hard drive, make sure to back up your important data on a timely basis.  Help here >  Mac Basics: Time Machine
Not a good idea to post the serial number of your Mac on the net. I have asked the moderators to edit that information for you. It has nothing to do with upgrading.

  • I want to upgrade my main Mac Pro HD...

What is the best way to upgrade to a larger 1.5TB or 2TB hard drive on my Mac Pro?  I've just gone under the 200GB mark on my main 1TB Hard Drive and would like to upgrade it.  But I would like to do it so it doesn't leave me with any problems or missing files or aliases.
    Any advice?
    Thanks!

It doesn't make much difference which drive you use.  If you have two externals that have been properly prepped then just clone from one volume to the other:
Clone using Restore Option of Disk Utility
    1. Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
    2. Select the destination volume from the left side list.
    3. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
4.Check the box labeled Erase destination.
    5. Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
    6. Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
    7. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the external backup drive. Source means the internal startup drive.
You could use SuperDuper! or CCC, true, but I have found that when one is cloning startup volumes Disk Utility is the best choice because of the extra error checking it performs - which makes it slower than SD or CCC.

  • Upgrade to Acrobat Pro 11 on Different Computer

    Folks,
I'm not sure how to do my upgrade.
    Situation:
My current Acrobat Pro 9 is installed on my OLD Windows XP computer.  (I'm retiring it!)
I want to upgrade to Acrobat Pro 11 on my NEW Windows 7 computer.
    Questions:
Do I have to install 9 on my NEW computer first in order to upgrade it to 11?
If so, do I have to unistall 9 from my OLD computer before I can install it on my new computer and do the upgrade?
I'm not sure what is correct and/or what will actually work.
    Thanks for any help.

You don't need to install Acrobat 9 on the new computer. To prove you own it, you will need to quote its serial number as your "qualifying product".

  • Upgrading to Acrobat XI (from CS6 Design Standard)

Some time ago, I bought CS6 Design Standard which included Acrobat X. Now I want to upgrade to Acrobat XI. How can I do this? What are the pricing conditions?

    Hi ,
As Acrobat XI is a prior version of Acrobat ,you would unfortunately not be able to upgrade to Acrobat XI through Adobe .
Adobe will only let you upgrade to the latest Acrobat DC .If you prefer to upgrade to that ,you can refer the following link .
Free Acrobat Pro DC | Download Adobe Acrobat Pro DC free trial
You could try an contact the registered Adobe reseller for upgrade to Acrobat XI .They might be of some help to you .
However Upgrading to the latest version is a better idea .Acrobat DC is certainly loaded with enhanced features and also has a different and interesting interface .
Please review the options and choose whatever suits your requirement .

  • How do I qualify for an upgrade to Acrobat XI MAC from Acrobat 7.0 Windows

I have Acrobat 7.0 Professional - Windows - and want to upgrade to Acrobat XI Pro for my MacBook Pro. CanI qualify for the upgrade pricing or do I have to pay the full amount?

    Hi kevinc26850405,
I can understand your concern & will guide you in the right direction.
As you have a registered copy of Acrobat 9 for windows so even if you have the setup file for Mac the serial key won't work as it is platform (operation system) specific.
I would suggest you to get the latest Acrobat version i.e Acrobat DC and you will be able to use it on any of your computer as it requires a subscription to serialize it not a serial key.
Download link for 30 days trail version of Acrobat DC Download Adobe Acrobat free trial | Acrobat Pro DC & you can serialize it using your Adobe ID.
In case if you experience any issue or have any query please let us know. We will be happy to help you.

  • Want to buy a new macbook pro...do I have to re-buy FCS?

I have a macbook with Final Cut Studio 2 installed and I want to upgrade to a macbook pro. I think I remember reading in my software booklet that my serial numbers are good for one desktop computer and one laptop. Since I have installed FCS on my imac and macbook already...will I have to re-buy it if I get a new macbook pro?

I really think the INTENT is that you can have it on a home computer and a portable computer. But I'm not an Apple lawyer.
I'd go ahead and do it and wait to be caught. If your intent is pure you have a leg to stand on... in my mind.
Same rules will apply -- if you have it running at the same time on the same network it won't work.
    Good luck,

  • Would like to upgrade to Acrobat 11 Pro but do not want a subscription or to have it on the Cloud.  Is there another way to purchase an upgrade

I am currently using Acrobat Pro 9 and would like to upgrade to Acrobat 11 Pro.  I do NOT want a subscription or do I want my software on the Cloud.  Is there a way to purchase Acorbat 11 Pro as a full upgrade?

You can, but Adobe is doing its best to hide it, it seems... To do so go here: PDF creator, edit PDF | Adobe Acrobat XI subscription
Click the yellow "Buy" button on the right, under Acrobat XI Pro. Now, under the "I want to buy" drop-down, select "Upgrade".
Then select the product you currently own, the OS, etc., and continue with the purchase process through the cart.
This will give you a full, not time-based, license of Acrobat XI Pro.

  • Can I load Acrobat Pro 6 onto Windows 7 and upgrade to Acrobat Pro 9?

Can I load Acrobat Pro 6 onto Windows 7 and upgrade to Acrobat Pro 9?  My former PC ran on Windows XP and this new PC runs on Windows 7.  I don't want to shell out another $449 when Acrobat Pro 9 worked fine for me.

You might be able to install Acrobat 6 for this purpose, but you probably won't have to. When you install Acrobat 9 Upgrade it should (if I remember right) ask for the serial number of your "qualifying" product and at that point you put in the Acrobat 6 serial.

  • Want to upgrade to Pro from Standard.

I have Acrobat XI Standard and want to upgrade to Pro. I can't find any info on their website as to how to buy this upgrade. Help?

It's only some 13" 2010 models that can handle 16GB... for the 15"+ only 8GB.
Be certain to purchase the correct RAM for your machine. Crucial and OWC are the brands that most of us rely on.
    Good luck,

  • I want to buy Adobe Acrobat XI Pro full version... Limited access vs. full access?

I want to buy Adobe Acrobat XI Pro full version, but I don't know what the difference is between limited access to online services offered by the full version and the full access that's offered by the month-to-month version. In other words, what would I losing by acquiring the full version, rather than just paying the $19.99 per month and get full access to online services? Can someone help clear this up for me? Thanks!

    Hi dmoynihan0421,
The retail version of Acrobat costs around US449$ and the monthly subscription is available for a very nominal fee of 19.99$ per month.
The software is the same and there's no difference between the functionality of Acrobat except that in the retail version you have a serial number to permanently activate the software whereas in subscription Acrobat validates the license very month to check if the subscription is active or not.
The main difference between the two however is the Adobe Online services.
When you buy Acrobat XI Pro as a one-time purchase, you get only Acrobat software. No online services are included.
When you subscribe to Acrobat Pro in select countries, you pay a low monthly fee to get:
Acrobat XI Pro desktop software, including any upgrades
The FormsCentral Plus online service for creating and distributing web forms
The Adobe PDF Pack online service that makes it easy to create, convert, and combine PDFs in your browser
Acrobat.com for storing and sharing files in the cloud
The details of these services are as follows:
Adobe online services extend your Acrobat XI working environment to help you streamline and simplify your projects:
Adobe FormsCentral makes it fast and easy to create, distribute, and analyze forms. A desktop version of the online service is included in Acrobat XI Pro. Using the FormsCentral desktop app, you can create unlimited PDF forms for free from scratch or by using professional templates. If you subscribe to Acrobat Pro† or open a free or paid account with the FormsCentral online service, you can also use the desktop app to build web forms and manage form distribution and analysis.
Adobe EchoSign makes it easy to get rid of paper signatures forever. If you open a free or paid account with the service, you can use the Sign pane in Acrobat XI to send documents to others for signature approval and track results online. Recipients can sign electronically without installing software or creating an EchoSign account.
Acrobat.com lets you store and access your files online from within Acrobat or Reader on any device when you sign up for a free account or subscribe† to Acrobat Pro or Acrobat Standard.
Adobe PDF Pack lets you create, combine, and export PDFs from any browser or mobile device. PDF Pack is included when you subscribe† to Acrobat Pro or Acrobat Standard — or you can open a paid account.
Adobe Send is an Adobe online service that lets you send and track large files — including audio and video — without the headaches of email size restrictions. Paid subscriptions are available.

    Rave
