I want to upgrade my storage on my macbook air, how do i do it?

so i have a 2012 11-inch macbook air. It only has 128 gb storage buts says it can be configured to 256 GB. But it says only on the apple online store but i can't seem to find it. Please help!! Just got for university and its already full!
