I want to upgrade to Yosemite on my work computer, but don't want it tied to my personal Apple ID. Is there a way to download without logging in via Apple ID?
In case I leave the company or other reasons, don't really want to tie my work computer to my personal Apple ID.
IIs this something I should be worried about? Or does it really matter?
Ask the computer’s owner for permission and log in with the work Apple ID.

I messed up when I bought the second season of Game of Thrones recently. I wanted to buy the season pass, but it seems I bought the first four episodes instead. I have the exact same question as heathy32 (I just want to get a photobook ordered, but I'm currently running iPhoto 7.1.5 with OS X 10.6.8 and discovered right at the end of the process of making this photobook that it's no longer supported with the versions I have) but I just wanted to check something with you before I proceed with the iLife 11 disk...
Namely: do I need download the iPhoto Library Upgrader first?
There seem to be issues discussed in other forums about the Upgrader, I want to make sure I don't do something like downloading it if that isn't strictly necessary.
I am perfectly happy just to install iPhoto 9 and upgrade to 9.2.3 using the updater you link to, just so long as I can get a photo book printed!
Once that is safely out of the way, I intend to upgrade to Maverick etc.

I just upgraded to Lion on my work computer.
I just upgraded to Lion on my work computer. Can't connect to iCloud with my @me.com account. I go to system preferences iCloud and put in my email and password and tries to move my MobileMe account to iCloud. Which I had already done. And then show my account status with An error was returned from the server. Please try again later. That is as far as it will let me go.
About 40. They used to sit alphabeticly on the left. When i selected the playlist i wanted songs in the Play list would show up as a list on the right.

I bought used iMac 2007 with Mavericks installed but iPhotos was missing. I reinstalled Mavericks but didn't get iPhoto. Now if I want it I have to buy it? Is there a way to install it without having to pay for it?
If you own any verson of iPhoto '11 then there is a free update to version 9.5.x in the App store
If you own a previous version of iPhto (iPhoto '09 or earlier) then as always an upgrade to a new version (in this case iPhoto '11) is a paid upgrade and you purchase it in the App store
and no OS update/upgrade contains a version of iPhto - it is a seperate program and although it is included as part of every new Mac it is not a free program and never has been sinve version 1 or 2 (I forget when it changes)

In order to run iTunes 10 you need OSX 10.5 or greater. You will have to upgrade your operating system, if that is possible. What you can do to upgrade will depend upon your computer and software you run. To get more information about your computer, go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then "About This Mac", then "More Info..." Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number.

I have an iTunes account with my own music library. My wife wants to have her own music library. Is there a way to set up a sub account for her, or do I have to set up a set of husband playlists and a set of wife playlists?

I'm currently signed onto my home network and want to go on with another computer but don't remember my password for my network. Does anyone know where to find this? It's a password that I set myself, not the one that came with my router.
It's in your Keychain on the computer you usually use to connect to your network - the "kind" will be "AirPort Network Password".
Your Keychain can be opened by using the Keychain Access program. It is in your Utilities Folder.
Open Keychain Access, and type airport in the search field. You will see a number of entries. Choose the one with the name of your wireless network, open it, and check the box next to "show password". Before it reveals itself you will be asked for your login password - the one you use to log in to your MacBook.
The network password will appear in the box.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Sync your old address book with the one on the iPod. You may have to import them into an intermediate address book like Google contacts since that can be done by importing a file you should be able to export for your address book. Without know your old address book that is all I can say.

I lost my iPhone a few days ago and I put it on the lost mode. I don't want to give up looking for it. If a person stole it, is there a way for them to get into it or is it locked? I don't want to give up!!! But if there is a way that they could get in and take over my phone with a new number without me deactivating the iPhone and activating a different phone with my number.
lost mode don't depend of the sim card. If you take your Iphone on Lost mode... anybody can use it with the original card sim or with an other one.
Did you try to localise it ?
But hope that thief don't make a restore of the Iphone... Call your Mobile Operator to try to block the IMEI Number. -

i have 5 devices all on one itune account.i have not activated icloud because i dont want it to sync all our information together. is there a way to set it up to only sync the music together and not the contacts photos messages etc
Unless you subscribe to iTunes Match, iCloud doesn't sync music. Just set up every person's devices on a separate iCloud account and your iCloud data and photo stream will remain separated. Each iCloud account will need a separate ID, but it does not need to be the same as your iTunes ID. You can continue to share the same iTunes ID and maintain separate iCloud accounts with separate IDs for iCloud.
You'll also want to use separate IDs for each person for iMessage and FaceTime. This will keep your text messages and FaceTime called separated as well. The easiest way to do this is to have everyone use their iCloud ID for these two services as well.
