I want to use dial-up on the move

I'm going away next week, and the hotel I'll be staying at doesn't have broadband or wireless internet.
I know it has phone lines in the room that I'll be able to connect to, but does anyone know any dial-up providers I can use with my ibook, that mean I can use a pay-as-you-go type dial-up service without knowing the phone number?
I'm in the UK.

http://emergencyinternet.com/ has a uk 0845 number that you can use without pre-registering or signing up. Look out for the hotel 'phone rates tho'; some places sting you badly.
If you make a new location in System preferences - Network, it's really easy to switch from normal to 'on the road' via the Apple menu at the top-right of yr screen.

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add a new account by tapping the "create Apple ID" button. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")

If the Display supports DVI, then you will need a > Mini-DVI to DVI Adapter and a DVI cable.
If the Display only supports VGA, then you wiil need a > Mini DVI to VGA Adapter and a VGA cable.
Noting that the (digital) DVI is far better than the (analog) VGA connection.

You have the display set in Extended Desktop mode. The Menu Bar and Dock will be on the MacBook display and your background screen on the monitor. In System Preferences>Display on the MacBook screen there should be an Arrangement tab when you have the MacBook hooked up to the monitor and both screens working. When you click the Arrangement tab do you see two monitors side by side? One of them will have a Menu Bar at the top. Just click on the Menu Bar and drag it to the second monitor. That will make the second monitor your main screen. You can now use your MacBook in Clamshell Mode with a wired or Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3131 When you disconnect from the monitor your Menu Bar will automatically change back to the MacBook.

You need a network connection and a product such as ScreenRecycler. All such products require a bootable OS on the iMac.

Cloud accounts are multi-platform.
You have a maximum of two activations but can use them on Win/Win or Mac/Mac or Win/Mac. The choice is yours.

It's not that simple. You need a "smart" device to connect a hard drive to, like a Time Capsule, or another computer, or an Airport Extreme/Express that was made to share a drive, or some other brand router that has a USB port for sharing a drive, etc.

Of course there is. There is with any computer system that you connect to the internet or transfers files to and from. When you run Windows on your Mac you increase the chance from zero that you will get a Windows based virus to virtualy the same risk as any other Windows user.
The weaknesses in Windows OS and applications are well trodden by virus and worm malcontents the world over. That doesn't mean that OSX is exempt though. All it will take is once and the entire Mac world will sit up and take notice......

Had this problem for quite a while but found a work-a-round. I click anywhere in the text I want to delete and insert any character. I am then able to block and delete any text I want to. It's been working great.
