I want to use imessage on my pc

Hi, I no longer have my iphone, but still have my ipad mini. I want to use imessage on my pc, Can i do this!, and if so, how do i do it?... Thanx in advance for any and all replies that may come...

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
You cannot use iMessage on a Windows PC. To use iMessage you need to access it on an iOS device or Mac.

TechCrunch posted a solution today that applies to this problem, I think.

I have iPad 2 with wifi and no 3G. I want to use iMessage to talk to a friend in Russia from here in the UK. For some reason I can't send messages to her. Please try to make your answers basic and easy to follow as I'm not any good with technology :)

You can likely download the last compatible version by:
Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club
App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.

Sign out of your Apple ID on all iOS devices, in the following locations:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Sign in to your Apple ID on your device.
When activation is complete, your Apple ID and all verified email addresses should be visible in Settings > Messages > Receive At

You need to delete here conversation and start another one using her phone number and not her Apple ID. You cannot delete iMessage, you can disable it. If the Apple server still sees her iPod with iMessage on and using her Apple ID, then it will continue to appear to your phone that she has iMessage. She needs to take a look at this support document about permanently disabling iMessage for her account. Can’t receive text messages on a non-Apple phone

HT5622 What if I have children who have their own apple products but I want them on the same apple ID as me and we want to use imessage?

We have a few iphones and one apple ID. We only want to use the one apple ID as they are children and I want to have control. How can we imessage between us and different phones without everyone getting the imessages on each device?

Settings>Messages>Send & Receive...you can adjust here. There is no other setting to adjust.
What you want to do is really not the best approach. Everyone can continue to use the same Apple ID for iTunes content, but for everything else...FaceTime, iMessage, & iCloud, everyone really needs their own Apple Id for things to function properly & as designed.

as long as you see the blue imessages, there will be no international costs (i.e. it's the same as imessaging someone in the states).
to make sure you don't accidentally send a sms message...
1) turn off "send as sms"
or
2) associate an email with imessage (such as your icloud apple id email address) and send imessages to that address for each other (also change your caller ID in messages to that email address).

I don not want to use imessage at all. I turn it off in settings, but when I go to send a message, it is asking me once again to sign in with my apple id. Then it turns imessage back on, which I do not want.

That is because the iPad can only text using iMessage.

I have an iphone 5 , and ipad and a Macpro . I love the fact that I can use imessage and icloud to sync these devices . I have everything all set up but am running into one problem with my iphone5 .... I cannot receive text messages from other iphone users on my iphone ... they show up on my Macpro and ipad but not my iphone . I can send and receive text messages from non iphone users and send text messages from my iphone to other iphone users but I am not receiving them on my iphone . I get them only on my ipad and Macpro ... any answers for this ?

You don't need a phone port on the iMac. The HP 7300 DeskJet Pro has an internal modem, you connect the printer's modem connection directly to your phone line. Please re-read the install directions that came with the printer.

HT4061 I upgraded and no longer have an iphone. Now my fiance nor anyone with an iphone can text me because it still wants to use iMessage even though I have removed my number from the icloud, apple, and itunes. I have no idea what more to do.

We have already deleted my name and number from his iPhone, and tried re-adding it. It still lists my number as an iMessage. It is not feasible to ask everyone in my contact list with an iphone to turn that off so that they can text me. Please help. I've already done everything that I could find online, deleting my number out of everything and nothing has helped thus far. Thanks in advance.

Read the title please. And yes, the person is a contact.

Does that person have an iPod, iPad or iPhone with the Messages app and are you trying to Message that persons with the email addres (or phone number for an iPhone) they aves set up to use for Messages?
Have them send you a Message to verify.

I want to send iMessages from my email address

I seem to have the opposite problem of most iMessage users. I want my iMessage to use my email address to send messages, NOT my phone number.
I am currently living overseas, but all of my contacts are still back home, so I want to use iMessage with my email address, since my email address is permanent, while my overseas phone number is temporary. I have set up iMessage to start all conversations from my email address. This has worked for several months, but occasionally it will switch back to using my phone number, breaking up the conversation on the recipient's phone. Although my contacts all iMessage me from their email addresses (to ensure they don't get dinged for overseas SMS), occasionally my phone will receive messages from their phone numbers, breaking up the conversation on my phone.
iOS appears to choose sending iMessages from phone numbers and email addresses at random. How do I ensure that my phone consistently uses my email address for messages, as it is set up to do?

Settings > Message > Send & Receive > Start New Conversations From ...
Of course, this will apply only to new conversations. If you are replying to something that someone else sent to your email address, then it will be sent from your email address.
