I want to use The Duplicate Finder to get rid of duplicates in iphoto. I created a library as a folder on my desktop and droped it into Dupe Finder. Many dupes were found. Before I have it auto select dupes, should I trash the photos in iphoto? Or will Dupe Finder do that for me automatically?
1 - if you want to remove duplicates from your iPhoto library you would not be using a copy of it
2 - don't do anything without a good, current backup

4 - One cardinal rule - NEVER make any chnages to the structrure or content of the iPhoto library using any porogram (including the finder) other than iPhoto - the programs listed in the linked discussion use iPhoto to do the deleting

1 - You can use 2 differents icloud account
2 - You use the same account but you don't sync yours contacts.

Please help me with the best way to get rid of the duplicates in the XML data. Will a transform with some stylesheet do the trick? I need to read on the stylesheet first, but please tell me if that is possible. I have to deal with XML data that has tons of duplicate data. Please see one section of an XML file. You can see that for each charge, the same defendant information (address, ID numbers, etc) is included. Having 10 charges is not uncommon, so I would have the same data repeated 10 times. I first thought that I would use some temp tables to do that, but I wonder if there were a better way. Thanks a lot. Please see the data below.

Removing strange software can be a task. The following outlines various ways of uninstalling software:
Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash. Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder. Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space. If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application. In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder. You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder. You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder. Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a Startup item or a Log In item. Startup items are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder. Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences. Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab. Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the Delete [-] button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS. Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term. Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default. You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, Easy Find, instead. Download Easy Find at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder. Usually with the same name as the program or the developer. The item generally has a ".pkg" extension. Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
There are many utilities that can uninstall applications. Note that you must have this software installed before you install software you may need to uninstall. Uninstallers won't work if you install them after the fact. Here is a selection:

After removing all the components of the software you may have to restart the computer to fully disable the software. This will be the case when removing software that has installed a daemon. After the daemon has been removed you need to restart the computer to stop the daemon. Alternatively, you can kill the daemon process using the Terminal application or Activity Monitor. -

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Hello cor-el, thanks for your reply. I changed my settings for downloads to desktop and it has appeared on there. When I double click I am asked which program I want to open file. I click firefox and another box "opening install" says I have chosen to open the file which is an application and do I want to save it. This is the only real option so I press save file. I get a box saying this is an executable file which may contain viruses - do you want to run. I press ok and the final box showing C drive file name and desktop appears stating application not found.
This happens the same whenever I try to install.
To my untrained eye the application is not being recognised as an application and I cannot work out how to get it to do that.
My plugin is still showing as out of date.
Is there anything you could suggest. Thanks for your time. -

I would like to create the a swatch, add it to the library and import to the swatch panel. The help pages available relate to earlier versions of Muse, which does not work with the 2014.2 release version that I have. I have created a library folder, imported the colour swatch as just 4 colours as a mulib file. I drag the four colours on to the muse page in design view but that is as far as I get. Can anyone help? Those are not real issues. I tested the MacKeeper trial on a freshly-installed OS X 10.8.2 system, with absolutely nothing added to it, and it identified almost as many "junk files." They're not really junk, you're being scammed to convince you to pay the money to buy the program so you can "fix" the "problem." There have been many reports that allowing MacKeeper to "clean up" your system can actually destroy it, requiring reinstallation.

Have you tried a soft-reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
