I was able to drag and drop songs from iTunes in to Garage Band so I could slow them down to learn how to play them. Since the newest version of iTunes came out I no longer can. Is this a feature that I can turn back on? I really would like to continue to utlize that feature because it makes learning to play songs easier. Any help would be appericated.

To import music into your iTunes library on the computer go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Add items to iTunes and follow the instructions
Delete the "songs" that do not play in your iTunes library and reimport them.

Actually I have two questions. I just updated from Leopard to snow leopard. Now when I import songs, it says "Do you want to import to burn playlist?" I click "yes". Then when it is finished copying, I go to "playlists" on the top of the screen and click on the "burn playlist" and it says there are no items. Where did the songs go. I would like to burn a playlist that I imported this way. I haven't tried arranging songs in the order I want them yet, but now see that is an issue also. I also used to see a list of my playlists on the left side of the screen and the songs within each of those playlists when I clicked on them and easily could drag and drop songs from one playlist to another. How do I do the same functions that I used to do before I updated? Does this update make it impossible to do the same functions as before? Where can I find a "manual" of sorts to direct me to explain this new format? If there is no way to do these things, I will have to say that I want my old iTunes back. Can I do so??? Actually, the only reason I updated was so that I could play pix and movies from my camera into iPhoto. When I did so, it said I had to update other programs to get iPhoto to work. I am trying very hard not to be very frustrated. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After poking around for a while figured how to do things in this new iTunes. Not as intuitive as the old one. Sorry I don't have time to tell what I figured out. Maybe some other time.

If you manually manage music... on iTunes 11, go to the top left corner and there will be a pull down bar. Click "show menu bar". From there, go to view, then show sidebar. Magically, it looks like the previous versions of iTunes. Took me 3 hours of trial and error and searching through forums to figure out. Tried calling Apple to have them walk me through it and they said they wouldn't help me since I don't have Apple Care. Whatever. Hope this helps!!

Unable to drag and drop songs from library into playlists, however I can drop them above or below playlists. That is no help in editing playlists! Seems to be after last iTunes up date.

Why can't I drag and drop songs from one playlist to another?

All of a sudden I can no longer drag and drop songs from one playlist to another. The only way I can do it now is by selecting the song[s], right click on them, and then choose "Move to playlist...." Any thoughts?

Yes! This is really annoying. I don't know why they couldn't keep the functionality from the old version. The more I use the new iTunes the less I like it.

I have 3 PCs that are all authorized to play my music. I have different music on different machines that I have downloaded from various places and or ripped from my own cds. I can from my home PC drag and drop music and movies to my iPhone. But on my work PC say if I download a new Album (not from itunes) and it is in my library, I want to be able to just drag it onto my iPhone so that I can listen to it at the gym. Hi B-rock, yes I have tried adding to library but still no luck. I am also up to date on the latest version on my iPhone and iPod.
I ended up burning the MP3's to a CD then transporting them to my iTunes when I inserted the CD into my PC!
This has only started happening since I updated!

I used to be able to drag songs directly from a playlist or from my library to a SD card. This doesn't seem to be working for me anymore. I can copy them from the finder no problem, but I used to select all on a playlist and copy all songs at one. Any help?

The trick is to plug the SD card into ur PC directly with an SD card adapter. I know from exp that this works on PC, not sure about macs. For some reason when the SD card is in the the phone it has some type of block on it depending on where your bringing the music from. Also make sure that you don't have the adaptor in the lock position. I think the switch(if it has one it will be on top right corner) has to be in the UP position.
