I was asked If our BW3.5 system contains java stack

Hello
I was asked If our BW3.5 system contains java stack. I do not know if BW3.5 can contain java stack at all.
Anyway if it can how can I see java stack is installed

Dear Jan,
There are number of ways you can identify Java stack,
Go to SM51 and Check in Message Types, If it is showing J2EE, then it means java stack exits.
Go to /usr/sap/<SID>/<instance>/ and check if j2ee folder exits then it contains java stacks.
Go to profile directory and check if SCS profile exits, if it exits then it contains java stack.

Schema in the System Container

I just started working on someone's Lync 2010 environment and I found their Schema was never moved from the System container over to the Configuration container.   I tried using the old OCS Global Settings Migration Tool but it wont let me because
the schema is higher than version 1007. Is there a way to move it?   Also if there is not a way, can we keep it in the System container and move to Lync 2013.

I actually did find a way to get that Global Settings Migration vbs to run successfully.   I just modified the version of the schema to 1151 instead of 1008 in the script and then it worked.   I thought about leaving it in the system
container but after reading what this guy said about it, I felt like it was a bad idea.

Once I finished all MigrateOcsGlobalSettings.vbs commands, I did have to go into the Deployment Wizard and re-run the Forest Prep. After that, everything worked successfully in the existing 2010 environment and I was able to continue adding Lync
2013.

I try to install it, but i select my free (fresh formated) partition with 35GB free space and i see:

Is this 8MB "Boot" partition (formatted as FAT???) something you created when you partitioned this disk for the Windows XP installation, or is this an 8MB OEM partition that you've somehow assigned drive letter C: to?
I wouldn't be surprised at all that your error message is being generated because thsi "BOOT" partition, labelled as drive C:, is only 8MB in size, and you can be absolutely positive that an 8MB partition is going to generate this error: "Setup was unable to use existing system partition because it does not contain the required free space."
The correct answer really depends on whether that drive C: is the boot (sic) (the proper terminology is to call it the system partition) partition for the Windows XP installation. If it is, then you're going to have some repair work to do on your Windows XP installation first, so that you can free up that 8MB partition.
In any event, I'm fairly certain that the solution is going to require the removal of that 8MB partition, as you've suggested in your most recent post.

Infamous "Recovery policy configured for this system contains invalid recovery certificate" message

Hello,
On a Windows 2012 R2 member server of a Windows 2012 domain, I tried encrypting a folder, and I got a "Recovery policy configured for this system contains invalid recovery certificate message." This is the first known attempt
at enabling EFS within our organization.
When I looked at the EFS certificate within the Default domain GPO, it had expired.
Is it as simple as deleting and recreating the EFS certificate within the Default domain GPO? Then running gpupdate /force on the Windows 2012 member server?

However when I try to run February CU or December CU I get the error:
The expected version of the product was not found on the system
it's possible that I messed up because
I think I installed a SharePoint Server Service Pack 2 in a SharePoint Foundation Farm.
these are the files I ran:
1 - SP2 pt-br
oserversp2010-kb2687453-fullfile-x64-pt-br
2 - SP2 for Language Pack pt-br:
oslpksp2010-kb2687462-fullfile-x64-pt-br
3 - ran configuration wizard (had na error message the first time and success in the second try)
4 - December CU or February CU:
Download SharePoint Foundation 2010 February 2014 CU
The expected version of the product was not found on the system
In the first step I think I should have installed
wsssp2010-kb2687464-fullfile-x64-pt-br
Now I try to runthis and I get:
The update is already installed on the system.
Hopefully this is a QA Environment but it would be a pain to start over.
Any suggestion?

Error when transporting Webservice from our DEV system to QA system

Hello, I created a web service from an rfc by following the wizard from Utilities>More Utilities> Create Web Service. This was created in our 030 client of DEV. I had to create two transports one client independent that was the VI and Service and one Client dependent for the actual webservice. I then transported the webservice to our DEV 200 client and all worked well. Next I transported both to our QA box, first the vi/Service transport then the webservice transport. This is not working, in our QA system, from wsadmin when trying to get the wsdl error is Could not determine wsdl address (ICF ERROR) and from wsconfig when I pull up the service definition and variant the status shows a red stop sign. Is there a trick to transporting this webservice to different systems?

I had this problem once and in my case the service wasn't activated in SICF.
so see your service tree under /sap/bc/srt/rfc/sap/<your_service> and probably it's inactive (grayed out). right klick and activate it.

I'm an applications developer and also run a part-time videography business. As such, I require more than 3.12GB of RAM. That is the physical limitation of a 32bit system. Pointless to stay on 32bit if you plan on having more than that much RAM.
I'm also not about to pay someone to fix my PC when I can do it myself. I was originally hoping for someone who had experienced the problem before to point me in the right direction so I didn't have to spend so much time trying to figure out what the issue was for myself.
Basically, in the end the problem was caused because right at the point in time when I chose to uninstall, and reinstall; Apple released a new version of iTunes. This version in turn had a requirement of iOS 4.2 to sync with the iPhone. This is a pretty embarrassing for Apple that they would release software reliant on other software before said software was released.
Had I realised I was downloading a newer version at the initial point of installation, this wouldn't have been an issue. I could've easily have rolled back iTunes to the previous version and gotten on with my life.
Another issue is that iTunes is not actually a 64 bit application. It masquerades as one to allow installation on the 64 bit platform.

I have bought 1 MacbookPor 17, 1 Macbook air, 1 MacbookPro 15 , 2 ipads, 3 iphones, and this iMac27 and 2 of iMAC24 or 20 not sure   but I do not recall ever doing what you are telling me in your reply.   When you get a extended car warranty, you don't   sign up for it.. it is just there and is included in the sale.   You don't buy this warranty to use it.. You buy it, in case something happens.   Here a perfect iMAC with minimum 100 hour useage has a dead drive. That is not normal and I should not have to even be requesting anything since most MFG offer a 3-5 year warranty on their disc drives and I believe that is probably passed on to Apple regardless if an extended warranty is purchased or not.   Customer service dictates a more flexible approach to make sure the lifetime value of a customer is not lost due to some misunderstanding.
I was in the MacStore that I purchased the unit..and they found and pulled the invoice and confirmed
the purchase of it in front of me. I had paid with credit card and fortunately it was there in their system.   I do not also recall recieving any box or paper although most everything I ever get remains sealed.. I am not in the habit of opening anything since I have never encountered any serious issues before.
   I have used my Macbookpro warranty 1 time and that is all throughout the years I have been investing in Apple equipment.
I just recieved a letter from the store asking me to get the paper to them so they can register it... I don't recall getting any paper actually. But I do have several boxes sealed here.. I have been asked to delete around 52000 BDC edits from SM35 in our Prodction system. If i try to do by select all and then perform delte,I recieve a Time out Dump.
Since it is Production, i cannot code a Zprogram or run a session to delte automatically.
Is there a sap program avaiable that can delate this BDC via a background job?

DAC Source System Container

Hello All,
I am trying to set up as erver to host Oracle BI Apps on a Windows Server.
I have been following the installation guide and at the moment, trying to create a copy of a source system container in DAC for Oracle 11.10.5.
All the required components are installed and configured on the same server and the DAC client does connect to the DAC server.
Everytime I have tried to create a copy of the source system container, the creation fails.
I would appreciate any help/pointers in this regard.

I got in touch with oracle support, and while on the web-conference, the container creation was successful.
I am not sure how it worked but it did.
The only things that changed were:
1. I was building a Execution plan with the Source Container itself, for which I had to add the source DB connection name : ORACLE_11_10_5 and the source File system name: ORACLE_11_10_5_FileSystem.
2. The table space size in the database was increased due to another failure with informatica just before I got on the phone with Oracle support. Oracle support mentioned that the source system container creation does not connect to the database so this should not be the reason.
Please let me know if either of these reasons fit.

Our Solar System is not called the "Milky Way."

This is not a question but a correction to the web site's LabVIEW developer challenge. Under the Solar system challenge they reffered to our solar system as the milky way, the milky way is infact the "GALAXY" in which SOLAR SYSTEM resides.

"Setup was unable create a new system partition" error installing Win7

Hi, I've just purchased aSanDisk Extreme 120Gb SSD (model SDSSDX-120G-G25), and when attempting to install Windows 7 I get a error "Setup was unable create a new system partition or locate an existing partition" when selecting the partition to install to. I've already tried various DISKPART commands to clean the drive, create the partition, format to NTFS and make it active, but to no avail. I've also made sure no other drives are connected except the DVD drive for my Windows disc. I'm using a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3 motherboard, plugged into one of the ICH9R Southbridge SATA ports, and I've switched AHCI mode on already. Anybody have any ideas before I send the drive back? Thanks

In such a situation, you can clean the entire SSD using diskpart and this will ensure that the boot sector and system reserved partition is also cleaned. Try using the following method to clean the SSD and use the windows automatic partitioning to create partition for the installation of the operating system. 1. Insert the windows 7 DVD into the DVD drive.
2.On the disk selection screen, press SHIFT+F10. A Command Prompt window opens.
3.Type diskpart, and then press ENTER to open the diskpart tool.
4.Type list disk, and then press ENTER. A list of available hard disks is displayed.
5.Type sel disk number, and then press ENTER. number is the number of the hard disk that you want to clean. The hard disk is now selected.
6.Type det disk, and then press ENTER. A list of partitions on the hard disk is displayed. Use this information to verify that the correct disk is selected.
7.Make sure that the disk does not contain required data, type clean all, and then press ENTER to clean the disk.All the partitions and all the data on the disk is permanently removed.
8.Type exit, and then press ENTER to close9. Continue istallation of Windows OS by using automatic partitioning scheme rather than creating partitions yourself. This worked for me in a similar situation. Hope will work for you as well. Best of Luck:-)
