I was asked to update my iphone but then got an error message (6) saying I had to go to itunes which says I have to restore my iphone and default to factory settings. All that I am getting on the screen is a sign to plug in to itunes. I am VERY unhappy
It was working fine until I tried to update the software as requested. Help! I do not want to go to factory settings and lose everything. Can I uninstall the update somehow? Please respond asap
If the screen shows a plug going to itunes, then you have no choice, It's in recovery mode. You'll be given the chance to restore from a backup either from itunes or icloud.
I assume when you got the message to update (was this for the ios or update some apps?), that was before the device when dead. At any rate, doing a restore does not change the ios.

- Try closing iTunes and then disconnect the iPod from the computer. Then reconnect the iPod. If the iPod shows in iTunes then you can try again. However, You should try to resolve the error message first.
- If iTunes does not see the iPod try reetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- I recommend that you come back with the what the error message said and the condition of the iPod and if it is visible in iTunes. -
I was using my wifi last night when I got an error message stating my ip address had been taken over. Then safari stopped working and i can no longer access the internet. I looked at my ip address and it states 000.000.000....can someone please help?
Sounds like a bogus pop up. In any case power down your Mac, your modem, your router. Then power back up in 1 minute sequence; modem, router, Mac.

I have a Mac Os X and a Sony HDR-CX7 camcorder. When I get onto the Sony webpage to download the program so I can import my movies, they only have programs Windows. How do I get this for my Mac.
You shouldn't need any application except what you already have: iMovie, iDVD, iPhoto....

Some formats are not readable by the above; you can use something like MPEG Streamclip to convert the footage or Quicktime Pro (as mentioned in one of the articles). -
When trying to open ITunes, I got an error message of msvcr80.dll can not be found.
Assuming that it was an iTunes file, I reinstalled iTunes.
Trying to open again, I got an error message of an appication is trying to open a library file incorrectly.
How do I resolve this problem.

Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.

I recently had trouble updating my itunes, when I did do it I kept getting an error message and because of that I had to uninstall everything than reinstall itunes. But since then my iphone, ipad, and ipod are not really syncing correctly. My PC says its going through the steps and applying everything but when I got to my phone nothing is updated at all. Nothing is being applied and I did the run diagnostics as well and it said that everything was fine. When I got what is on this phone it says the playlists are on my phone but when I go to the music app on my phone the playlists aren;t there at all. I've gone through all my settings on my computer and iphone and they are all what they should for the songs to transfer correctly and it still isn't working.
So, in iTunes, when you look at the shuffle's content (in the sidebar) and click on the playlist under the shuffle, over to the right, the songs are in your desired order, correct? Where do you look, or what do you do, that indicates the playlists are in alphabetical order? Are you saying that when you play the songs while using the shuffle, they play in alphabetical order?
If so, when you listen to the songs on the shuffle, are you using the playlist, or are you using the All Songs list? If you are in the default All Songs list, with the shuffle's power switch set to play-in-order (the middle position), the songs play alphabetically, I believe.
The 3rd gen shuffle uses VoiceOver. If you are in the All Songs list, you need to use VoiceOver to switch to the playlist (see manual linked below for details). When you are in the playlist (with the shuffle's power switch set to play-in-order), then the songs should play in playlist order.

I count on using the Firefox restore session feature. But it's stopped working. For the past couple of days, it hasn't worked a single time. (I haven't changed anything on my PC.) It just suddenly stopped working.
Now it gives me an error message that the script has stopped working. It gives me a couple of options. I'm not sure of the exact wording, but one option is to stop the script and the other is to keep trying. But the keep trying never works.
I have to stop the script, hence, the list with my previous tabs never comes up.Which file is mentioned as the cause of that script error?<br />

When I inserted my memory card from the camera into the computer it opened the Adobe window. I clicked on the get photos icon and the process of downloading to the computer began as usual. But when it was complete an error message came up No file found. Now I cannot open anything to view any of my previous photos. How do I fix this ?
The Camera Connection Kit works with SD cards, not Memory Sticks.
Maybe you can find an MS to SD adapter, or use the USB connection with the USB cable that came with the camera. -

If you are getting that message you will not be able to create a new iCloud account on your phone because the maximum number of accounts has alread been created. Your only options are to either re-use one of the accounts previously created or create a new account using a different iOS device or Mac, if you have one.

Disconnect the USB cable from the iPad, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off iPad: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for iPad to turn off.
If you cannot turn off iPad using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the iPad turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to iPad. When you reconnect the USB cable, iPad should power on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the recovery mode alert that iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode.
Use iTunes to restore iPad. -

You will have to force the phone into recovery mode:
Turn the phone off using the Sleep/Wake button, then the slide to power off. If you are unable to do that, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When your phone turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons. Then, leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new. -
I just bought an HD movie from i-Tunes and downloading to the i-pad and MacBook Air, but I got an error message stating this movie would not play on the Air.
Would the SD version of the movie- is it simply b/c it is an HD?What version of iPhoto do you have installed? Is if one of the versions shown as not compatible in this screenshot?
