I was charging my ipod 5 touch and it died and wont turn on
i plugged my ipod into the wall charger because it was about to die so i stayed on it but then my ipod died and i thought nothing of it i thought it probably died because i was on it so i waited a couple minutes for it to turn back on but it wouldnt but i just thought that it was so dead that i had to wait until it got enough charge to turn on so i took a 3 hour nap and woke up to see if my ipod turned on yet and it hasnt and so i started to panic and plugged my ipod into every wall outlet in my house and then i plugged my ipod into the computer and itunes wouldnt pop up and my ipod still says its not charging so i dont know if its the charger is broken and thats why its not charging or if my ipod went into recovery mode so can you help me?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Ipod Touch 5th Generation overheated now wont turn on
I have the ipod touch 5th generation. When I charge my ipod i always leave it alone and often have a battery app open. Today however when I was charging my ipod it overheated and now won't turn on. I have left it and it has completely cooled down but still wont do anything. Please help me if you have any idea on what to do. I have tried to restart it and put it into recovery but it wont do anything. when i connect it to the computer it doesn''t show up in itunes or in my computer and nothing will come up on the screen of the ipod. I don't have an apple store near me so would be happy for any advice that could help.

However, I suspect a hardware problem based on the heating and the Genius Bar is very likely required. If you iPod is defective and not abused you will walk out with a replacement. -

My iPod touch battery is dying when fully turned off.
I have had an iPod touch 5th generation for about 2 months and it's worked perfect until a couple days ago. The battery started dying even though I fully turned off my iPod. I fully turn off my iPod touch yet with a fully charged battery over night my iPod will be almost be dead when I turn it back on in the morning. Also when in sleep mode and no wifi being used my battery will still die within a 8 hour period of time but in these same circumstances a week ago my battery would only decrease about 10% max. What's wrong with my iPod? Can it be fixed? If not, how do I get a new new one replaced?
Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. You have a defective iPod. If not abused, Apple will exchange it at no cost

my ipod screen is frozen....
Hello ayesham007,
What happens when you tried a reset? To do this, press and hold both the Select and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear. Don't be afraid to try this procedure more than once if no luck the first time.
If that doens't help, you may need to wait for your iPod's battery to drain.

My 5th gen Ipod touch has not been recognized by my computer since IOS 7 came out. I havn't been able to sync any new songs (wi-fi or plugged into the computer) and will not charge while plugged into the computer. I have tried to find it in the device manager menu also but to no avail.

Why did my iD9 ihome stop charging my ipod touch?
I got the iD9 ihome for Christmas and at first, it played and charged my ipod touch perfectly. Now, however, it has stopped charging and only plays music through the speakers. I'm very frustrated, because one of the reasons I chose this ihome was because it would both play and charge my ipod at the same time. I use my ipod religiously and am constantly draining the battery and hate having to plug it into the computer. Any ideas what could be wrong/where I could take it to get looked at without paying a fortune?

Help! I charged my Ipod touch the other night, I was using it yesterday and it cut off. It won't turn back on now at all. I've tried to plug it in to charge, and absolutely nothing happens. Any suggestions?
Hello Christie,
With it still plugged in, try a hard reset to see if that helps. To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear. This may or may not work the first time around, so be sure to try this at least a couple of times.

so i was updating my ipod touch (4g) to ios 6 and i needed to stop it in the middle of updating. so i held the home button and the lock button at the same time for it to restart. It started turning on with the apple symbol and then the screen went white. I kept trying to do the same thing but it wouldnt work. Eace time i did that the screen was a different color. I was yellow/white at one point, blue at another time and sometimes the color behind the apple symbol. It got really HOT and i just let it die. When it was dead i put it on a charger. once it got charged up it started turning on with the apple symbol. then it turned white again and then restarted without me touching anything. When it restarted it turned the blue again. i took it off the charger immediantly because i didnt want it getting as hot as it was before. ive tried every way i know how to fix it but not putting it in the computer because i dont want it to ruin the computer. Please help because i really dont want to get a new ipod. Ive read a lot about how to fix it here on apple but there all the same answer and it still doesnt work. Please respond ASAP! thank you! i could really use your help right now!
First see if placing the iPod in Recovery Mode will allow a restore.
Next try DFU mode and restore.
