I was editing a Draft and it disappeared, and I cannot find it now in Trash or Drafts
I am using Thunderbird. My computer knowledge is very basic!
I had already checked Sent items, but it was not there. In fact I had not even put the email address on it.
Googling the problem, it does seem to have happened to others. Some did suggest a way to perhaps locate it somewhere on the hard drive, but the procedure seemed so complex I could not follow it at all!

can you use color splash on a photo that was edited in black and white or do you have to mask the photo before editing it in black and white?
I think you are asking whether it makes an difference whether you create the mask before or after you edit the black & white version. The answer is that since the color version and the b&w version are on different layers (as seen here), it makes no difference when you edit the b&w version.
Also consider another technique that separates the color element in the image. Here, the area surrounding the color image is a line interpretation of the scene, similar to a Tone Line Conversion, a technique that was created with film many years ago. (I am so old, I still remember how it was done.) This is how to get the result similar to the one shown above but with a line illustration created in Photoshop replacing the b&w layer version:
1. Open an image. This technique is more successful if the image you select has many clearly defined edges.
2. Make a duplicate layer. (Cmd+J). It becomes Layer 1
3. With Layer 1 chosen, go to Filter>Blur>Smart Blur. Set the Quality to High and the Mode to Edge Only. The default settings are Radius 3.0, Threshold 25.0. To increase the amount of detail in the line conversion, raise the Radius setting. Use the white-on-black illustration within Smart Blur as a guide. Then click OK.
4. The line illustration will appear as white lines in a black background. To change this to black-on-white, choose Image>Adjustments>Invert.
5. Insert a new layer below Layer 1. It will serve as the background for the line illustration. To do this, hold down the Command key while clicking on the New Layer symbol at the bottom of the Layers panel. It is the second symbol from the right. It will become Layer 2.
6. Fill this new layer with a light color. To do this, click on the Foreground Color symbol in the Tools section. It will open the Color Picker. Choose a light color and click OK.
7. Choose Edit>Fill. Use: Foreground Color. Mode: Normal. Opacity: 100% and click OK. Layer 2 will fill with the color. Although it will not appear in the image because Layer 1 is above it, a quick check of the Layers panel will confirm that the color you chose has filled Layer 2.
8. Remove the white area from in Layer 1. Go to Layer 1. Choose the Magic Wand tool. Uncheck the Contiguous box in the Options Bar and click in a white area of the image. Next, click the Delete key. Choose Select>Deselect to remove the marching ants.
9. (Optional) You may now change the line illustration in Layer 1 from black to a dark color compatible with the color in Layer 2. To choose the color, click on the Foreground Color symbol in the Tools section. It will open the Color Picker. Choose a suitable dark color and click OK. While in Layer 1, click the first symbol next to the word Lock: in the Layers panel above Layer 1. This will prevent the dark color from appearing in the blank area of Layer 1. Choose Edit>Fill. Use: Foreground Color. Mode: Normal. Opacity: 100% and click OK. The black lines will change to the dark color you chose.
10. Combine Layers1 and 2: While in Layer 1, choose Layer>Merge Down. The layers are combined into a single layer called Layer 2.
11. Add a black mask to Layer 2 by clicking on the Mask symbol at the bottom of the Layers panel. It is the symbol to the right of the fx symbol. Where you would like full color objects to appear within the line rendition, paint in white on the black mask with a brush set to either soft-edge or hard-edge as the illustration and your taste dictate. -
I have CS2. I shot RAW files with my Nikon D90 and now cannot open them in PS. I heard there was a plug-in to download for this, but cannot find it. Help?
You would need at least CS3 with ACR 4.6 to natively edit NEFs from a D90 in PS:

It might also work to use the DNG Converter 4.6 or newer to convert the NEF files to DNGs and then those might open in your older CS2 ACR, but I’m not sure, since it’s a 9 year old program I haven’t used in years.

It connected the first day and I was able to upload some video; however, I pulled the USB out--there was a bad message--and I cannot get the mac to register that I plug it back in.
Have you downloaded everything that is on the camera? If so format the SD card on the camera (will erase everything on the card).
If you have not downloaded everything can you see stuff on the camera? If you have a card reader you could try putting the SD card in that and trying on the mini. If your mini has a SD card slot you could try that.
In any case format the card on the camera before taking more pics.
Next time be sure to eject the camera from the Mac properly and turn the camera off before disconnecting.
EDIT: You might also check the camera's USB Mode is set to PC. -
Once I open up my emails they disappear and I cannot find them anymore. Is there a setting that I need to change to stop this from happening?
Are you tapping any of the icons at the of the Mail app after opening them, or do they disappear without you doing anything ? And if you have more than one account on the iPad, does it happen on your other accounts as well ?

I am so angry - there has to be a misunderstanding. my Itunes was disabled as there was a charge that I did not authorize and I cannot find the phone number for security and the dingbat girl who I'm emailing send me a link that does not work. I received an Iphone 5 as a gift two days ago. The first thing I did was set up ICloud for photos. Itunes would not allow me to add songs to my new phone without restoring it, yet when I did this, it deleted all 129 photos of my graduation and friends from the past two days. And I cannot find them anywhere, photo stream, ICloud, nothing. Where can I get back my memories?
Were the photos taken by your new iPhone? If so, did you not import them off your phone to your computer (as you would any other digital camera) before the restore? If not, restoring wiped the data off the phone and your pictures are gone.

I spent an hour typing the minutes for a meeting on Pages. All of a sudden it all disappeared! I cannot find it or a copy of it anywhere.
If you enabled Time Machine, simply "Enter Time Machine" with the Pages document open.
Time Machine saves document revisions automatically, even if you do not happen to have a Time Machine backup device connected to your MacBook Pro while you're editing the document. Local "snapshots" are periodically stored on your local volume, enabling you to delve well into the documen't past.

Try from the layers pallet after highlighting your background copy layer. You should have dropdown menus for blend modes and opacity.

I recently updated to ios5.0.1 and was syncing my itouch.I noticed that it was taking too long and my itouch turned off. now, i can't turn it on.went online and tried everything from the troubleshooting assistant but nothing works. HELP PLEASE!

You don't.
You synced your iPhone with iTunes for the first time after how long?
And this didn't happen by syncing only. This means you transferred the backup for another iPhone or you restored the iPhone with iTunes. It is not possible for everything to be lost by syncing alone. All iTunes content on your iPhone can be lost but not any photos in the Camera Roll and the same for contacts unless you synced contacts with an empty address book application on your computer. -
I downloaded the app Facebook and my list of contacts (they have already existed) was replaced by facebook's contacts (list). I cannot find my original contacts, ONLY MY FACEBOOK'S contacts. If I acess the Icloud, my contacts ARE THERE (all)! I don't know what happend. Can anyone help me?
Turn off facebook syncing of contacts, this should be covered in the User's Guide.
