I was fooled by Apple. Worldwide warranty doesn't exist

I had one of the worst disappointments with the service from Apple. My iPhone is presenting a defect and believing that Apple is worried about their consumers and also that my iPhone is within the warranty period, I called Apple Care to solve my problem and all I heard was that there's no way to fix my iPhone in my country, even Apple warranty providing worldwide. Are situations like this that make us think of switching to other brands of smartphones.
Simply disappointing.

You SHOULD be disappointed, but the target of your disappointment should be at yourself, not at Apple.  The iPhone warranty has never been worldwide, ever.  YOU should have done your research, my friend.  But, of course, it's certainly easier to blame others for our own shortcomings, isn't it?

    Like the headline says, my dashboard doesn't work at all, and my com.apple.dashboard* -files doesn't exist in the preferences file.
    Is there annyway to redownload or reinstall it?

    Hello there,
    Have you tried killing the Dock Process through Activity monitoring and then relaunching it? I would also try logging out and then back in or doing a complete reboot of the machine to see if that helps.
    If still no luck, it may be a good idea to trash the dashboard preference file.
    The two dashboard preference files are in the following directory:
    yourusername -> Library -> Preferences ->
    The file names are:
    com.apple.dashboard.client.plist
    com.apple.dashboard.plist

    My Macbook 2.16, with only five months of use, burned the logicboard alone. I do shutdown, and it never turned back. Simply died.... :_(
    As I am in Brazil, sought technical assistance in São Paulo, accepted by the guarantee worldwide. However now makes more than 50 days and the macbook has yet to repair.
    I do not know how Apple works on other representatives around the world, but in Brazil has NOT work.

    I am informed that all parts and equipment that came to Brazil, is dependent on a single company and is not Apple Computer Brasil LTDA. Apple in Brazil has a phone customer support, which accompany each application, and that they are just not finding more excuses for delay of repair.
    However much time has passed, much like that Apple USA, providenciasse the support necessary to meet its customers including Brazil.
    I know that I live far away, but love Apple, in the last 15 years has never had a disappointment so great that love with a brand.

  • Purchased songs on an account that doesn't exist.

    I'm trying to transfer songs from iPod to iTunes but there's a few songs that aren't transferring over. When I click them to authorize the "ID" block is auto populated. I click on my "forgot password" it opens up a browser and takes me to a page where I can recover my password. However I receive a error "User ID isn't valid". How do I find out what account that song was purchased on? I thought the auto populate did that. If so how come a song was purchased from a user ID doesn't exist?

    If you changed your AppleID, it will still show the old one (as that is embedded in the song file) but you must change it to the new one when you enter it to authorize the computer.
    As an example....
    You create an account with the ID of [email protected]
    When you purchase a song, this will be embedded in the file so when you try to play it, it will autopopulate the ID field.
    Later you move and change the ID to [email protected]
    When you try to play a song, it will pop up with [email protected]
    You need to change it to [email protected] and it will work.
    The error you received is because the AppleID was changed so the old one does not exist, even though it shows up on the songs.

    Hi I'm here asking for a solution...
    My mum came to Australia to visit me and I "Unfortunately" bought a broken new Iphone 5c.
    There's no service all the time. The phone just keeps "Searching Career". It worked for 5 minutes only, nothing else after that.
    We are using a Telstra sim card.
    I went to Apple Store in Sydney Australia wondering if the warranty would work worldwide. The answer was YES. "We receive phones from the US and we fix it here. The apple store in Rio de Janeiro will be able to help you. The damaged parts just take a while to come to Australia. That's how Apple works. I'm sure it's the same overseas because it is Apple." He said...
    Ok I "Very unfortunately" accepted that hopping that I could get help in Brazil.
    So I called the Apple store in Brazil and basically they said: "It's not our business, you should have purchased this phone in Brazil. We do NOT accept foreign phones in this store".
    Is this really worldwide warranty?
    When I had the cash in my hands to pay for the phone the Worldwide Warranty would be OK everywhere.
    Now that I'm stuck with a useless broken phone the warranty simply does not exist anymore.
    What do I do Apple?

    Antes de existir a loja da Apple no Brasil um amigo comprou um iphone desbloqueado em Nova Iorque, mas pra sua surpresa, quando chegou ao Brasil o mesmo estava bloqueado e não funcionava com nenhum chip de operadora local (pode ser o seu problema). Ele ligou pro suporte e a Apple providenciou a troca do aparelho (ele enviou o aparelho que ele tinha comprado via correio e reebeu um novo também pelo correio). Tenta levar em algum autorizada tb.

    Walk it into the nearest Apple Store there in Ireland, admit you purposely avoided buying it there, and ask them to help you sort it out. I'm sure they'll be happy to service your overseas purchase.....

    The merchant told me it is new. And when they opened the box and turn the ipad on, the ipad asked me to activate first.

    I'm not in the USA. I'm argentinian. I have a problem with my iPod and I'm sending it to the USA, and I need some information Apple support page doesn't has.
    Can I go to a store and directly give the iPod to Apple, or the only way I can send it to warranty is by mail?
    Do I really need the bill? I'm not finding it, the only thing I found is some amazon.com bill. I printed it, as it was in amazon.com. It says I payed for it. Can I use this?
    And, finally, if the first question is 'yes', can I send the iPod to every Apple Store, like the ones in http://www.apple.com/retail/, or can I only send them to the Apple Authorized Service Provider?

    Doesn't matter where you purchased it.
    The iPod warranty (in fact all Apple products) is good worldwide.
    You can take it into an Apple retail store. They may exchange it but they may tell you to fill out a service request. Are you planning on visiting the states to do this?
    You can't just "mail" it in.
    you fill out a service request and Apple will send you a box.
    However, in Venezuala, for warranty repair, you need to contact an Apple Authorized Service provider as posted above.
    The shop there should not care where you purchased it.
    Since it's a warranty repair, everything will be paid for by Apple. In fact, the iPod will simply be sent to Apple. You may have to pay some shipping charges.

    Well I'll guess you're using iPhoto 11:
    Option 1
    Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
    Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
    This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
    Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
