I was given a ipod touch i need to do a master reset on it, but wont allow me to do so because it is logged into someone elses itunes account
i was given an ipod touch that is currently logged into someone elses itunes account and i need to log out of there account and into mine, i was thinkingi could do a master reset, but it will not allow me to do so. Any suggestions. I would like to make this copletely mine and wipe everything else out. Please help thanks.
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

As I said, the backup that iTunes makes does not include apps (and music) if those items where not in the iTunes library on the computer on which you restored they will not be on the iPod.

CD's you can give to them to rip to their own iTunes. If you do that, legally you are supposed to delete any copies you may have in your posession as you no longer own the content.
For iTunes purchases, they are permanently tied to the account they were purchased with.
You can always gift the content via iTunes to your friend, purchase and give them CD's, or let them buy their own copies. -
hi just got my new apple ipod touch and to download apps it wants to add questions about myself for more sercurity information. i get up to question 3 and it wont let me select a question but it will let me write an answer so i just pressed done and then it says i cant carry on because ive mised out information when it wont let me do a question!
Welcome to the Apple community.
You might try to see if you can change your security questions. Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account > Password and Security.
I'm able to do this, others say they need to input answers to their current security questions in order to make changes, I'm inclined to think its worth a try, you don't have anything to lose.
If that doesn't help you might try contacting Apple through Express Lane (select your country, navigate to iCloud help and enter the serial number of one of your devices) -

You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.
Also, if you have iOS 6.1.6 yo have a 4G (has cameras). A 3G does not have cameras and can only go to 5.1.1 -

so i was updating my ipod touch (4g) to ios 6 and i needed to stop it in the middle of updating. so i held the home button and the lock button at the same time for it to restart. It started turning on with the apple symbol and then the screen went white. I kept trying to do the same thing but it wouldnt work. Eace time i did that the screen was a different color. I was yellow/white at one point, blue at another time and sometimes the color behind the apple symbol. It got really HOT and i just let it die. When it was dead i put it on a charger. once it got charged up it started turning on with the apple symbol. then it turned white again and then restarted without me touching anything. When it restarted it turned the blue again. i took it off the charger immediantly because i didnt want it getting as hot as it was before. ive tried every way i know how to fix it but not putting it in the computer because i dont want it to ruin the computer. Please help because i really dont want to get a new ipod. Ive read a lot about how to fix it here on apple but there all the same answer and it still doesnt work. Please respond ASAP! thank you! i could really use your help right now!
First see if placing the iPod in Recovery Mode will allow a restore.
Next try DFU mode and restore.

What the iPod touch really needs.
So I may have missed a thread on this... But does it not seem logical that what the the iPod touch really needs bluetooth. I could care less about using bluetooth for audio, synking or anything else but 1 thing...
Given that the iPhone is locked into AT&T wouldn't a bluetooth enabled pone allow you to use bluetooth's networking abilities to share you cell phones data plan? Granted some wireless providers (cough*verizon*cough) cripple there phones and disable this feature. but it would be at least an option to some people.The ipod touch does not support bluetooth nor does it have bluetooth built into the device. THere are bluetooth adapters that you might use for like headphones but nothing like data transfer and what you mention. If this is a feature you would like on a future ipod then leave your feedback at the link below.

Hello. Today, I was updating my iPod Touch 4th Generation to iOS 6. I unplugged the iPod when it was during the installation because it appeared to be frozen. Now the iPod is stuck at a light blue screen even after I reset it. How do I fix it?
You will need to do a DFU restore by holding the home and power buttons down (while the device is plugged in to your computer) until the device's screen goes black and as soon as the screen goes black, count down from 3 and release the power/sleep button, but keep holding down the home button. Then, iTunes will say the iPod needs to be restored. The restore process will take some time and even though the iPod may appear to be frozen, don't interrupt the restore.

I was updating my iPod Touch 5 iOS from Ver 7.0.3 to Ver 7.0.4 and myiPod locked up. I can not reset or restore the unit. The only thing it will do is show me a graphic of thr lightning cable facing up to an arrow and then to a circular blue iTunes icon. I interpert this to mean "connect the iPod to my computer thru the USB cable while iTunes is running. I do this and nothing changes. Total lock up. Any ideas?
