I didn't have the time to install it until recently and now I am being told it is too late for that redemption number.
That must not be true that you have to redeem a product in a short time or you are out of the product and your money?

First be sure it is a serial number and not a redemption code. The serial number will have 24 digits (no letters) beginning with 1057. If that's not what you have, here's how to use a redemption code to obtain a serial number:

I was given Photoshop CS5 Extended as a gift

When I put in the serial number it tells me that it is not a valid number. How to I download this to my computer. I have a new computer with Windows 8.1 and I am not use to this operating system at all.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. It is a new disc, that was in it's sealed pkg.

Photoshop Elements tags to Sharepoint?

I just started working as a work study at our local college and I've just been given the task of organizing and tagging 10,000+ photos on our college SharePoint server. The person who was working on this project before I joined was using Photoshop Elements to tag the pictures. She got a majority of them tagged, so I would hate to have to start from scratch and tag them on SharePoint. The question is, is there some way I can just import the picture along with the meta-data directly to SharePoint?

No, but People, Places and Events were dramatically changed in v11 onwards. I suggest you download the trial and convert your catalog to see if you like the new style. If you don't you can continue in the old style by renaming your tags in v8 to (say) 'My People', 'My Places' and then convert your catalog. Then they will come across as 'old style regular tags and you can ignore the new style.

My Photoshop elements 12 won't open

At Christmas I got given Photoshop Elements 12 for a preset, I was really excited to try it out but after download it wouldn't open (I have Windows 8).
I ran the TroubleShooter and it says 'Incompatible program' but it says on the box 'Compatible with Windows 8'.
Please, please, please help me. Thank you.

I have an installation CD for Photoshop Elements that I used on my old PC. I was satisfied and content with that product and as I got a new computer I wanted to use the program there. Here's to my problem:
I don't have a disk drive on the new computer and can therefore not install the program from disk. Second problem is that when I go online to find the program to download instead I realize that there's no version 7 for Mac, only for Windows if I understand it correctly?
I don't feel that I want to buy a new version just to get it working on my computer and I'll use iPhoto if it doesn't work to install. It would however be really nice if I would be able to use it.

When using Card Reader, the automatic downloader is not working in Photoshop Elements 8

I have Windows Vista and just upgraded to Photoshop Elements 8.0. The Elements program is not automatically launching when I insert a CF card in my PC. The settings I have for the camera or card reader is 1) Begin download -immediately 2) Shot date 3)Delete Options - After copying, Verify and Delete Originals. When I was using Photoshop Elements 6.0 and inserted a memory card in the PC, the elements program would automatically launch and after photos were transferred, it would ask if you wanted to delete photos from the card reader.
I tried changing the settings from the Download options from Generic Device - show APD Dialog (Standard) to the Automatic Download option but that didn't help. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make the automatic downloader work and bring up the option to delete from the card reader? If not, I will have to uninstall Elements 8 and go back to Elements 6.0

First of all be sure your space bar isn't stuck. Secondly, if you have a flash window open, you may need to close it to get rid of the hand (this happens a lot when people have a tutorial open in the background).

Changing size of tool bars & icons in Photoshop Elements 10

Was using Photoshop Elements 10 on my windows vista with no problems. Just got a new computer with Windows 7 and moved Elements 10 with no installation error messages.
Just tried to edit some pictures and all the tool bars and icons are so tiny - extremely hard to read. Tried adjusting the text size to 150% in control panel but it did not change anything in Elements.
Is there a setting that can be readjusted - do I need to uninstall and reinstall with some setting tweaks??
Please help!!!!

You need to use the default, 100% screen font size in Windows to prevent problems like tool cursors and menu bars not displaying correctly.
There's no way to adjust PSE's font size or icon size.

Error Message when using Photoshop Element 9 sending email

I was using Photoshop Element 9 sending email on Windows Live Mail.
It was working perfect.
A week ago, my computer had the problem and need to format and reinstall everything again.
After that, when I used Photoshop Element 9 to send email using Windows Live Mail 2012.
It came up error message in below:
"Elements Organizer could not finish creating your E-mail message.
Alternatively, you can use the Adobe E-mail Service via the Elements Organizer Preferences dialog."
I don't want to use Adobe E-mail Service because it is very limited for email function such as attached another files or change email contents.
Would you please give me some idea how to solve the problem ?

Newbie to Photoshop Elements 8.0

Thinking of purchasing Photoshop Elements 8.0. Currently
using Windows 7. I have been using Photoshop CS2.
In Elements 8 am I able to mask a face or some other object
and move it to a new body or object?

If the focus of the original question was the specific application mentioned (moving a head or object from one context to another) then selecting the object and copying the data to a new layer is an option, but this can also be done in Photoshop CS2. The benefits of masking are things like not actually losing the non-visible image data, so that adjustments can be made later.
If the focus of the question then was 'does Photoshop Elements have masking', then Barbara is right, masks aren't built into PSE. They can be simulated using adjustment layers (the best tutorial on this is found here: http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/pselements/qt/layermasks.htm ). Once you understand what's going on in that technique, you can make the process easier using this free tool, which uses an action to simplify the procedure - http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/pselements/qt/layermasktool.htm . (Actions can only be made in Photoshop CS versions, but some of them can be used in Elements)
If you've been using Photoshop CS2, and you're thinking of switching to Elements 8, you might also be interested in my article on Photoshop vs Photoshop Elements - http://www.easyelements.com/photoshop-vs-elements.html , which compares Photoshop with Photoshop Elements. They're both great programs, just suited to slightly different audiences and for slightly different purposes. Can't drag images to the project bin in photoshop Element 8

I'm new to Photoshop Element 8 on Mac ( I was using photoshop element 5 on PC before). For some reason I can't seem to be able to drag any files to my project bin! The only way I have managed to open files in PSE 8 is trough the File-Open menu which is really annoying and makes everything very time consuming. Help Please!

You can do this from the OS.
Open the Editor.
Open the folder and minimize it.
Command click on the items you want or select all and drag into the main window of the PSE Editor.
Or simply select the number of images you want in organizer and hit Full Edit.

I just realised what I was doing wrong. I installed Photoshop Elements 10 but I was launching Photoshop Elements Editor not Photoshop Elements. I had no idea there were multiple applications! Now that I have launched the main Photoshop Elements Application (it then brings up a dialog where you select organize or edit) the "Edit in Photoshop Elements 10" menu item has appeared as expected in Lightroom.

How can I get Photoshop Elements 13 to start up in Expert Mode?

I just upgraded to Photoshop Elements 13 for Windows (I was using Photoshop Elements 12 for Windows), and I can't get it to start up in Expert mode. When I exit in Expert mode and restart, it starts in Expert mode and then after a few seconds it reverts to Quick mode.
Note that I have tried the recommendation from previous versions of "Reset preferences on next launch" and that didn't help.
I'm running 64-bit Windows 8.1 and Photoshop Elements version 13.0 (20140831.m.62014) x64, and I've set it to start in the image editor, not in the launch window.

Can you try renaming the %APPDATA%\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\13.0 folder and see if it helps.
