Ipod touch 4g detected in itunes but not showing the ipod touch control panel
i just setup my ipod touch 4g on ios 5.0.1. It's detected in itunes on the devices side bar but when i click it just a white screen stating "ipod" comes on the itunes window. help ! i cannot sync anything onto it
Try connecting your ipod to another computer and sync only 1 file or song just for isolation purpose only to see if it'll sync.
If still not syncing, then porbably you may have a bad iOS installed in iPod which is hard to see if it has a problem because you said nothing's wrong with iPod. I just saying is, it MIGHT have a bad iOS.
If you are unable to do a restore, put your ipod in DFU mode, then connect to iTunes and iTunes will detect your ipod in restore mode. Press shift key (PC keyboard) then click the restore button on iTunes. I hope you have your copy of IPSW file for restoration purposes. -

Song shows up in playlist on iTunes, but not on the iPod Touch
So I bought a song from iTunes on my iPod Touch, and so it shows up on the "Purchased" playlist, and I can listen to it. So, I sync up to my PC (or my wife's MacBook Pro, doesn't matter) and using iTunes, I add the song to a playlist of my current favorites. I then sync the iPod. In iTunes, it shows the song as part of the playlist, and shows that there are 24 songs in it. But when I unhook the iPod and look at that exact same playlist, the new song does not show up, and it says that there are 23 songs in the playlist.
I have already tried deleting the playlist, creating a whole new one, and I can put any song I want in there, except for this one. ??? Anyone heard of this before?If the song is in iTunes, and it is in a playlist that you auto-sync your Touch to, then the only things that might cause this problem are:
1- Is this new song un-checked in iTunes? If your Touch is set to sync only checked items that would prevent it from syncing. If that's the case, just enable the checkmark next to the new song and re-sync.
2- Is this playlist a smart playlist that is forced to be limited in size? If so, there is a bug with the 3.1.x OS such that smart playlists that are limited in size will have different contents (and sorted differently) when you compare the playlist on iTunes vs. on the Touch. The solution in this case is to disable Live Updating in the smart playlist definition, then the two versions of the playlist will agree.
3- Is the new song tagged as "Skip when Shuffling"? If so, and if your Touch is in shuffle mode, then the song count in the playlist will not include songs that are designated to be skipped.
See if any of those three things are what is going on. If not, then perhaps you need to reset or restore your Touch, but I doubt that. -

ThanksAnything that uses a network connection will use data, unless a wifi network is available to use (wifi does not count against your cellular 3G data use). So email, web surfing, streaming video, updating content in news reader apps - anything like that. Location based services as well, although there are GPS navigation apps that store their maps on the device, so do not need a data connection like the built in maps app (which uses data to fetch the map display data). TomTom, Garmin and others have apps that include the maps stored on the device, and some, like MotionGPS allow you to cache maps for use later without a data connection.
Pics, video's and music can also all be managed by only syncing what you want for the time being. As long as you don't mind manipulating the sync settings and sync'ing more frequently, then you can still have a big music or photo library, just not all on the iPhone at one time. Same goes for eBooks - as long as you don't want to keep a huge library on the device, just sync, read and remove when finished and put the next one on there (and eBooks take up very little space anyway - very compact format for ePub books).
It sounds like 16Gb would be alright for you, but just remember you cannot upgrade the memory later.
Also be aware of data settings. If you use push email, it will use wifi if available when the phone is awake/active, but in sleep mode it will continue to work, but will use cellular data (since wifi is disabled when the phone enters sleep mode). Manual fetch for email is a better way to control email data use.
If you get unlimited social networking data use, that sounds nice (not an option with any plan I know of in the USA) - just be sure they explain it clearly (i.e. is it tied to a particular app. or only via web connections to sites - in other words how do you use it to ensure it falls into the unlimited bucket and not crosses over into your limited general data bucket).

Yes it should. I heard iPod 5th Generation gets the whole iOS 7 package. I have an iPod and am looking forward to this new wallpaper.

I have tried several times to unlock my daughter's ipod touch by following the instructions, but so far I cannot turn the ipod back on. Everytime it seems to be finished updating I unplug it and it again says that the ipod is disabled and gives me the prompt to start again. Can someone help please? Am I doing something wrong?

After yo successfully download the file, plae the iPod in recovery mode and try a restore.
It sounds like the file is not fully downloaded before the recoverymode expires on the iPod. -
The apple id username and password is correct, just when i go to verify my account information it says the card number is wrong (set it up through itunes gift card)

I just upgraded my iPad from 4.3.3 to the newest - I think 6.1.3. I cannot find my photos and videos. I tried a restore, but after 3 hours, it's timing out. Pardon my ignorance on asking this question; but is there a way to find my photos? I do nto care about anythign else.
Here are the steps I though I took this morning:
Backup iPad
Connect to iTunes and downlaod newest version of iTunes and then newest iOS
restart Vista Laptop
upgrade to newest iOS
I knew somethign was wrong when it took about 6 hours to upgrade the iPad
at the end it errored with this message error (-50), but the upgrade worked
I was expecting to see all my photos but didn't see them
I have tried a restore to a back up 2 times. The first time took 3 hours and just sort of timed out - it kept saying that there was an hour to go
I tried it again 2 hours ago and same message.
They are very valuable to me and so now I am panicking

Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.

i have the ipod touch 4th generation and the screen is white, i was going to charge it and it turned white. I have tried to reset it but the apple logo will not show up and it will not turn on! i just got it for christmas... can you please help?
The way I did it was I got the free app sync:stream from the App Store and then added my ipod to my ps3's Bluetooth devices. Then went to audio settings and set output and input to 'Skaggs iPod' you then open the app and it will be listed under music as a media service. You then go to all tracks and click copy (press triangle) it will then begin to copy all of your songs onto your ps3 via Bluetooth. I haven't tried but I assume the same can be done with photos. You may not be able to get a refund, since the terms of sale for the iTunes Store state that all sales are final. You can contact the iTunes Store, explain the reason for your request, and ask, though:
