hi i had the same problem today when i updated my itunes to latest version. however, i have just found my songs in the 'itunes media' folder. this was accessed through 'my music' then keep clicking through until you find itunes media and all my library songs were in there and i then just added these files to my library and all were restored however, i have lost all my playlists but at least my 700 songs are back. very dissapointed with apple that they have let this happen with their latest update, the previous version was miles better than this one . hope you find them. stevo

This might be because that your game update or other software automatic update killed your contacts. Hello! Just connected a used iPhone to iTunes for the first time. I'm trying to restore it to factory settings/default. The phone is connected via Wi-Fi and is updated to the most recent OS that the phone allows. The computer is also connected to the internet. But I still get the error: "itunes could not contact the iphone software update server because you are not connected to the internet." I also connected via iTunes and authorized the computer, but still have the same issue. Really, all I need to do is completely wipe the phone and start from scratch for safety's sake.

No need to post three times!
Is iTunes Match still turned on on your iPhone? If not, you need to turn it back on.
If it is still on, go to settings, music app and turn off match- sign out of iTunes Store. Reboot iPhone, sign back into iTunes and turn on match. Poem music app. Does this help?

It really doesn't matter what operating system you are using right now, but when you connected the iPad to your computer, did iTunes start up on its own and then give you this message?
Start with this. Quit iTunes on your computer, and then estart your computer. Restart the iPad as well. After the computer and the iPad start up again, connect the iPad to your computer again and see what happens. Post back after you do that.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

The App Store is a default iOS app and cannot be deleted. You should search for it. Perhaps you have moved it. If it is really gone, then you must restore your iPhone.
Is it asking for a password or a passcode? If the latter:

I had my Mediathek on a external HDD. In my old PC, i sat the path o:\itunes music... and it worked great.
Now I bought a new computer, installed iTunes 7.3, took the drive, plugged it in and sat the path to it in iT. Nothing appears. All my Playlists etc. - away.
I looked into my drive with "hidden and systemfiles enabled" and found out, that there is no "library.itl and .xml" Only the song copys.
I think, itunes 7.3 removed them bei initializing. Because that drive worked before the change properly.
TNX for good ideas to get my library back.

Ok, I found that files on my old cmputer. Might it be, that - external HDD or not - the library always is in the directory of the computer an not in that HDD?
Can I easily copy those files in the directory iTunes on the HDD or have I tho export the whole stuff against the rules of iTunes?

I clicked the button to sync with my ipod touch, because i thought it would give me all my picture and notes, which it did, but it also took away facetime and all the other software that the iphone 4s comes with. It can't do that by itself. You had to click through several prompts telling it to restore it from a backup of an old phone for that to happen.
If the phone was not backed up to iCloud before this happened, or to another computer, then the data is gone. There is no way to recover it.
