No no, if you read what I said, it would be that each individual display would be customizable to the user. The way you have it, it sounds like your second display will be dedicated to scrolling through fullscreen apps not allowing you to do it on the home screen. This is silly because with my concept, you could do that, by dragging apps to fullscreen in your second display, but if you want you could tell another display to scroll through fullscreen apps (independently) if you wanted. Each display will have it's own mission control with it's own set of desktops. I also can see how some people would still want them linked together, so this could just be a little check box made in mission control prefs to "link" or "unlink" desktops with link checked by default.
With your solution you're limited to your setup. but what if the person has three or four displays? Well then your solution would limit them to one dedicated display that scrolls through fullscreen apps where mine lets a person customize their desktops depending on their preference and setup.
further example: if you have safari, address book and mail in one display, you could still have ichat, PS and Illustrator in your second, and a text editor, FTP Client and iTunes in your third. Then you would mix and match these apps but it would promote the use of mulitple displays as well as benefit people with three or more, which thunderbolt, Cinema Display and Pro computers support.

  • I was using the newest version on OSX 10.7.5 and I was in full screen mode and viewing a photo and it was impossible to exit full screen. This happened at 11:03pm on Friday April 12, 2013. How to fix

I was using the newest version on OSX 10.7.5 and I was in full screen mode and viewing a photo and it was impossible to exit full screen. This happened at 11:03pm on Friday April 12, 2013. I deleted this from my apps and then deleted iphoto from my purchases in macbook app store the search it the app store and it says it has still been installed. What can I do to fix it?

Well deleting it from your machine was not the way to go.
Deleting it from your Purchases List was definitely not the way to go.
So, I'm not really sure how you're going to reinstall it.
But figure that out and we can try help. Contact App Store support. There's a link on the right hand side of the App Store Window. They should be able to get it back on your purchases list so you can reinstall it.

  • IPad Web App full screen mode Network Connectivity Retry Option

    Hi,
I have developed a web application in HTML5 for iPad (full screen mode). Now I am testing the application on iPad for connectivity scenario i.e. to see how the app behaves when the connectivity is lost and then resumed after some time.
    Steps -
Launch the web application in full screen mode from home screen (connected to a wifi network).
Click on any button to submit the form and at the same time turn off external wifi modem.
A pop-up message appears with the options to close or retry.
Now turn on the modem and click on retry.
The expectation is that on clicking retry the data in the web form should be sent to the web server, but instead of POST request, a GET request is being sent. Because of this, the data filled in the form is lost as the page is simply refreshed.
Can anyone please help me in resolving this issue.
    Thanks
    Nitin

This is more of a feature of the browser already.
With iOS6, Mobile Safari on the iPhone introduced full-screen browsing support in landscape mode.

One isn't able to take advantage of this feature in portrait mode though. However, the meta tag you're referring to in order to hide Safari UI Components requires the webapp to be added to the Homescreen; then when you launch the site through the icon on the Homescreen, you would find the UI components hidden.
Also, the latest version of Chrome for iOS released a couple of days ago includes the ability to view pages in fullscreen as well (for both landscape and portrait modes) with scrolling gestures enabling the hiding and showing of the omnibox and toolbar while navigating down a page.

  • Why is my macbook pro spontaneously swiping out of full screen mode?

I have a 2 week old 13 inch MBP retina (256GB, 8GB ram, 2.5GHz Intel Core i5, Graphics  Intel HD Graphics 4000 768 MB, OSX 10.8.2)  which was working fine until yesterday. I have accounts on it for each of my 3 kids, one for my wife, and one for me. When using any application in full screen mode, it now spontaneously swipes itself back to the blank desktop "space" after less than a minute. It previously worked as expected in full screen mode, and currently works fine when viewing applications without the full screen mode. Then, today it started displaying my log-in screen with inverted colors (color negative). The colors revert to normal immediately after logging in. This all initially started after accidentally clicking the airplay icon while my apple TV was off, and then exiting airplay mode...which may be unrelated.  My youngest is also a bit of a keyboard masher, so he may have changed a setting with a keystroke combination. Any ideas? I have tried rebooting, and I even tried Shift-Control-Option-Power while plugged in with the power off (SMC reset?).  Here's a pic of the color inversion:

I don't see a screen shot, as promised, in your original post - maybe if you post a screen shot and indicate exactly what happened before the screen inversion someone could be of help.
Most of the time when folks don't answer your queries around here we either don't understand the problem/question completely or not enough information is given to understand the problem.

  • Full screen mode not working in Mountain Lion

I'm using the new Retina Macbook Pro. The full screen mode to preview pictures and movies is not working; the dock still remains open when the full screen is open. I have to manually hide the dock by pressing command + D and do the same to open the dock again. This doesnt seem to an OS issue because my Macbook Air, which is also running Mountain Lion is doing just fine. I can preview a picture and the dock automatically hides.
Has anyone experienced the same issue? What is the fix for this problem?

Bingo! Problem solved. I didn't realize that you could "right click" the mouse over the "resize" icon in full screen mode. When I did that I found I was in the tiny postcard mode. Selecting "full screen" got me back to where I used to be..enjoying the tv shows in full screen mode. Kinda of weird. Choosing "full screen" from the menu bar didn't make the show full "pictured" though I was in full screen mode. But while in the full screen mode, I could right-click and choose "full screen" and there I be, watching a show in "full pictured". Learned something new.

  • Full Screen Mode Not Working In iTunes

With the latest iTunes update, when I play anything in "Full Screen" mode, I get the black background with this tiny (smaller than a postcard) picture. Anyone else having the same problems? Any suggestions? This problem never happened before. Seems to be related to the recent update. I think the update is telling my computer to act like an iPod, which unfortunately it is. Appreciate any help. Standing by.

  • "X" out of full screen mode apps without having to exit fullscreen mode

I would like to "X" out of full screen apps from the full-screen mode itself; without having to always exit manually out of fullscreen mode, and then X out in normal screen mode.

Full screen Apps use there own desktop system so there is no way to exit out of a Full screen app and leave that full screen mode running.
Now if you have more then one full screen app running when you exit one of them, IE Quit one of them, it may go to one of the others. That is IF you were using one of the others before you quit the current one.

  • No cursor in address bar after opening a new tab on full screen mode

    Hello all!
When opening a new tab in full screen mode, I noticed that the cursor dissappears from the address bar. Since I cannot write the address without clicking the bar, I think this is a very annoying issue...
Does anyone have the same problem?
    Thank you.

Try resetting Safari. From the menu bar click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 7 buttons, click Reset.

  • Adobe Reader slow when mouse wheel scrolling in Full Screen mode.

When I scroll a pdf in normal mode, its fine, but when I try to view in Full Screen mode, the scrolling is much more slower and it takes more rolls of the mouse wheel to get to the next page. Does anyone know how to improve the scrolling function of the Adobe Reader when viewing a document in full screen mode?

Good that you solved your problem. There will probably be other users that need to solve the same problem and your solution might help many others. The support here comes from users helping other users.

  • I just installed the latest iMovie 10.0.2.  Please don't say "look at the help menu" - it doesn't help.  This is radically different than the version I'd been using.  For starters it automatically converts to mp4 rather than .mov - that's my 1st question

Sorry for the long headline - I'm new to the support community and thought that was the post!  I've been happily using my old version of iMovie - I don't even know the number - I guess it was 11?  I just installed the most recent 10.0.2 and it is radically different from what I've been using.  For starters, whereas my uploaded video used to be in the lower section, and I would edit up above, now it's reversed.  Whereas I used to click on the transitions and drag a blur or whatever to my movie right while I was editing, now it's on a different screen.  And the easy old Export file button is gone, where you could choose setting, file size, export as Quicktime movie - all gone - now it converts to mp4 and I STILL can't figure out how to get it back to .mov
Please don't say "read the Help manual" - I tried - there's nothing there about any of this.  And by the way, I'm not a techie - I taught myself what I needed to know about the old iMovie and am now lost so please no snarks.  I would appreciate any help.

Select in browser your movie, click Export on toolbar, choose iTunes, QT etc. then choose size of your file in opening window. And then click Export in this window.

  • Why is there a grey block on the bottom of my screen in safari and i cant see the top of my screen in full screen mode?

When I put the window into full screen mode a gray block appears across the bottom of the screen. Thus the top of any given web page is truncated upward and I cannot access anything...But if I minimize the view what was once unavailable reappears.
Is there a way to get rid of this gray block?

Provide computer and OS version info and maybe we can help. Phone and iOS stuff tells us nothing useful.

  • My bookmarks bar and toolbar do not drop down when Safari is in full-screen mode.

I just updated to Safari 5.1.5 this morning as well as OS 10.7.3 and when in full-screen mode, the bookmarks bar as well as the toolbar will not drop down.  Once I escape then I can see them fine.  I'm also having issues with dragging or dropping ANYTHING. A gost image of what I am trying to move shows, and will not go away unless I force quit Mail or Safari. Needless to say, what I ws attempting to drag and drop does not take effect.

    Hi..
I just updated to Safari 5.1.5 this morning as well as OS 10.7.3 and when in full-screen mode, the bookmarks bar as well as the toolbar will not drop down.
Click the title bar one time. The gray area of the window at the very top of your screen in full screen mode.
Not sure what you mean by, "anything", when dragging and dropping. Right or control click the content. There may be an option for saving that data for you from the menu.

I just tested that since I hardly ever use full screen mode, this was the first time since I upgraded to Mountain Lion, and it worked fine for me.
Try shutting Safari down and see if that changes anything.
If that doesn't change anything, try shutting down and then rebooting.
