I was installing OSX Yeosmite and it got to one of the restarts and stopped
I was installing the new update on my MacBook air and it was doing fine then suddenly it just stopped on the apple logo and the little bar I have left it all night it then came on at around 5am this morning and wouldn't let me look at any files or do anything just had the beechball cursor spinning and so I restarted it and I am now right back where I was before!
I have tried pressing cmd L and the log files don't come up at all but I can put it into safe mode.
Can anyone please help?

I am amazed at the 5 Gb download for Yosemite. That is a quarter of my monthly internet allowance!
However, I started to download it. Progress bar showed 1 day plus. No way! I paused it. Then I saw Launchpad in the Dock showed Paused, with a progress bar.
Click on Launchpad and look for an icon for OS X with a "Paused" tag. Hold down the option key until the icons jiggle. Click on the X top left of OS X to delete it. You will get a question such as: "Do you want to delete Yosemite?" Click on yes (or OK or whatever). Now you should be back to OS X Mavericks your previous operating system.

Maybe your looking in the wrong "Library". On my Mavericks; I open the HD to see a folder below the Library Folder called "Systems". Open the Systems Folder to see a "Library Folder". Open that library folder to see "Extensions folder". Open the extensions folder to find the "AppleUSBethernetHost.kext" and delete that extention. Following Lanny's post, do this:
1st- Close iTunes.
2nd- Delete the system extension “AppleUSBethernetHost.kext” from here:
//System/Library/Extensions/AppleUSBethernetHost.kext
3rd- go to iTunes 11.4 download, here: https://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
click on the "Download Now" link.
4th- Find the downloaded iTunes11.4.dmg file, open it, now open the Install iTunes.pkg
After the re-install as above I got the successfully installed window and no “pop up”
improperly installed AppleUSBMultitouch.kext warning window.

Not sure if anyone can help but I have a copy of Photoshop CS5.1. Ever since it was installed, every now and again when I try do something simple like save a file or scale something using the Transform tool, in fact anything at all it comes up with "Could not complete your request because of a program error". Have thought about re-installing it but I have lost my serial number. I'm living in Ireland and trying to get to talk to someone in tech support is a complete joke. Any ideas what to do ? Thanks

Im in the same boat, started a thread . My hands free system worked fine with iOS 8 out of the box new iphone 6. Did the update this morning and i can stream music perfectly fine however i cannot make or receive calls through hands free system.
I have not tried resetting the settings like most people indicate is working. I feel like I shouldn't have to reset anything, even less mess with settings with an update coming from apple. it should "Just Work"
Some people who reset said it works for a few hours, other say it don't work, and I don't know what I should do.

You cannot use a Windows machine.
No idea if this will work because you have/had Ubuntu installed - hit Command + Option + R keys while restarting/booting up. Once in the Utilities, make sure the drive is formatted correctly and erase it, then reinstall the OS. -

Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless. -
As i was installing Final Cut Studio i cancelled it while entering the details, to go to bed. I tried to reopen the installer window and it just comes up with a Terminal Text Window, can anyone help?

shut down the Mac
Hold the Shift key on keyboard and start up the Mac
The Mac will run the repair tasks it takes 10- 30 minutes, then it will boot up normally
insert the FCS DVD in the drive and install FCS again. -

Funny thing, is that this week I saw a guy in the street sitting in his car with a labtop.
What should I do?Right click on the file and select get info. Click on the little padlock at the bottom and enter your password, change your user names permission to Read & Write. ( There will be a list of users at the bottom of the get info box with permissions which you can change.)

My phone is 2 months out of warranty, it's never been dropped or miss used yet the past week every day something has gone wrong with it. First the lock button stopped then the side volume buttons. Then the head phone port when I putt headphones in the phone turns the volume
