I was never emailed a serial number
I was in the middle of creating a document when I went to save it and was told I needed to buy the full version. So, I did and not only did I lose my work because I had to close the program- I never receieved any serial number or correspondence as to how to use the full version. It has been installed on the computer but when I open it stills says I need to download a full version. ugh

This means that at some time you had the iWork ’09 trial installed. You need to delete the trial & then reinstall from the boxed DVD or the Mac App Store. The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user. Yvan Koenig has written an AppleScript that removes the files. You can find it on his box.com account in for_iWork'09 > other_iWork'09 items > uninstall iWork '09.zip.

If you bought from the App Store (and you could only have done that if your profile is incorrect, it ways you are running 10.5.7) there is no serial number. Apps authorize using the appleid used to purchase them.
So what makes you think the app thinks its a trial version? Has the trial version been installed on your system at anytime in the past?

So I bought the Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended and followed all the instructions. I wanted to do a trial run and since it's ended I was ready to license it and then it asks for a serial number. So I checked through my emails and it didn't tell me my serial number so I went online to see how I can get it. It's not on my box or CD or anything. I was never emailed a serial number. Please help? What the hell do I do?

If you are still unable to locate the serial number, you need to contact Adobe Support either by chat or via phone when you have serial number and activation issues.

Cloud programs do not use a serial number, they use your paid Cloud subscription log in

I'm TRYING to try the 30 free trial of Aperture. It downloads fine, but the promised email with serial number (needed to activate) never arrives. I've double checked email address. Anyone have a solution?
This has been reported numerous times in the past. It seesms that from time-to-time the response system responsible for sending the key goes away.
Take a look at the More Like This box on the right hand side of this page. Some users have had success getting the key sent in various ways. -

HELP! Everytime I open Dreamweaver 8, Fireworks, or any other
software package I get the message "A problem was detected with
your serial number." It then gives me the option to retype my
serial number. After I type in the serial number I get the little
checkmark like everything is great. But when I press "Continue" it
comes back with that same message.
I called Adobe support and they said it sounded like my
registration key got corrupted and that I would have to follow
TechNote 4e7826b7 which steps you through removing Studio from the
computer and deleting orphaned files. I've done this TWICE and when
I tried to call Adobe technical support, they sent me to customer
support (with a long hold time in between) and then they sent me to
technical support. When I mentioned I had already passed this
route, the Adobe employee said she would inform the supervisor and
they would get back to me. Guess what. Never happened.
Surfice it to say I'm still getting the message and I don't
want to uninstall a third time because I know the outcome. Does
anyone have any suggestion? Pleeeeeeeease!

Adobe posted a hot fix that allegedly fixes the problem. I've
run the thing several times, and the annoying box still shows up.

I signed up for an Educational plan and got the downloads and such, but never got a serial number sent to me? It may be because I can't get into my school email at the moment and if so is there a way it could be send to an alternate email addres?

If you did not use your personal email, I don't know of any way for you to proceed if your purchase requires you to login with an email you can's use

Go to the Apple Store webpage and in the upper right go to Account and select Track an Order. There you will find the status of your order. You only get a tracking order when the items ships.

I purchased and downloaded Lightroom 5.5. After installing it, I was prompted for the serial number. When I entered it an error message appeared saying it was an upgrade serial number and I need to enter my original purchase number. This was my original purchase, not an upgrade. Now what do I do?
It sounds like you bought an upgrade from Adobe. How much did you pay? The upgrade is about $80, and the non-upgrade is about $150. If you bought an upgrade version and had no previous version, you would see what you're seeing.
If that is the case and I were you, I'd call Adobe, and arrange for a refund and to order the correct version.

On the other hand: Did you purchase your product from these firms like Amazon? If yes, this is not a serial number, only a code with which you can request a serial number from Adobe. The following part, so I just see at least, ceased to exist on my Adobe website, everything takes place in the link from above. I leave it as an info yet, it might still fit for you. For this purpose, please click your way through to your Adobe Store and find the button "Get Serial Number". Fill in the form and after a while you will get the real serial number.
