The funny thing is, I recall distinctly setting up the DHCP reservation initially, but when I went to check it now, the reserved client list was empty. Well... it said iPhone Recovery Mode, and I pressed 'Restore iPhone' after which it asked me if I am sure that I want to restore the phone to factory settings, I pressed 'yes'. After 20-30min it eventually came to the 'Hello' page where I had to sign in with my Apple ID, and then saw the icons of each of my apps. which one by one turned from grey to their full colour as they downloaded one by one. After 1-2 hours of having completed all the app downloads, I found the phone shut and could not turn it on with the normal way. And this happened after 2 restore sessions. I would be concerned too if the songs I purchased from iTunes were not downloading to my iPhone. You have taken some great troubleshooting steps already, and thank you for providing the details of the steps you too. I have a few additional suggestions to get it downloaded to your iPhone.
First, I recommend checking to see if the download was interrupted:
If your download was interrupted using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
From the Home screen, tap the iTunes app.
For iPhone or iPod touch, tap More > Downloads. For iPad, tap Downloads.
Enter your account name and password if prompted.
Tap the blue download arrow to resume.

If the songs still do not download, next I recommend downloading the songs when connected to another network. For example, if you are using the cellular network, you could switch to Wi-Fi, or you could try an alternate Wi-Fi network. They downloaded into seperate files but when I double click the .exe file for the 7z it works fine, however with the other file i recieve a message that "The file archive part of adobe Photoshop 11 is missing. You need all parts in the same file to extract Adobe Photoshop 11. Please download all parts." I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the entries, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.
(Not entirely sure what happens after you click that link, but fingers crossed it should be relatively straightforward.)

I've checked your account—you have two ExportPDF subscriptions. One placed on October 20 2013, and the other placed on October 11 of this year. So, you were probably charged the auto renewal for the subscription placed in 2013, and then the new charge for this year's order.
Please Contact Customer Care so that an agent can help get things situated for you. There's no reason to have two subscriptions to the same service, so an agent can help you cancel one, if you'd like.

I tried to download the the latest itunes on my older computer but ultimately received an error message for a failed temp folder...pls. help

I am trying to download itunes 10 on to my older computer that currently has itunes 8. It works it way through most of the install process but ultimately notes "there was an error creating a temporary file necessary to complete this installation." I just updated my windows (I believe it is XP).
The new icon is now showing on my desktop but won't allow me to open it, saying it wasn't installed correctly and to re-install....which I can't seem to do.

Last night I downloaded the audiobook Shiver (by Maggie Stiefvater) on my iPod touch, but the audio cuts out about an hours into the second part. It just goes silent. Help?

I don't suppose you're using 10.5.0? Apparently, that version of iTunes has some issues with Audible audiobooks (at least). Its only with format 4, so if you get the hight quality files, or the lower quality, the book should still play fine.
There is a version 10.5.1, but be warned, it has several bad changes from the previous version. In that audiobooks are now treated like just big audio files. You can't select chapters & there's no bookmarking.
Plus, I think there was a 30 second quick reverse, that has gone away as well.
