I was on facebook and suddenly the screen froze, and nothing is working?

I was on facebook on my ipod touch and it suddenly froze, and is completely unresponsive. I've tried plugging it into a power source, restarting it, and everything but it won't unfreeze?

try holding the power and home buttons in till the apple logo shows then let go and allow ipod to reboot
all app music etc are safe
if this does not unfreeze the ipod
plug ipod in to computer if itunes finds it restore to a back up or factory settings and sync app's etc back on to the ipod
