I was robbed and my Macbook Air was taken. I've only had the laptop for 1 month and haven't had the chance to understand the functions. I don't even know if icloud was activated. If not, what can I do?
I need to know if I can find my new Macbook Air laptop that was stolen from me after only having it for a month. I don't know if I activated icloud or not as I didn't knoe when I bought it that such a thing existed. I was a Window user before and wanted to upgrade to Apple. What a desapointment to me that I couldv'e prtected myself better.
Can someone help me?
you would have had to turn on the Find My iPhone service on the mac to be able to track it. Since you're not sure if you activated icloud to begin with, I doubt you would have known about Find My iPhone (which works with macs and iOS devices). So at this point there's nothing that will help you find it. Sorry.

I have a picture of a dog. If either the word "dog" or "dogs" or "puppy" or "puppies" etc is chosen, I want to display the same image of the dog which is an instantiated object of custom class Dict.

So I create my array:
SpellingGlobals.dictArray = ["dog", "dogs", "puppy", "puppies"];
If one of those words is chosen, it is the "key" to the object that has been instantiated.
dict["dog"] = dog;
dict["dogs"] = dog;
dict["puppy"] = dog;
dict["puppies"] = dog;
So
dictArray[2] = "puppy" and dict["puppy"] = dog, so dictArray[dict["puppy"]] = dog.
This all checks out. The problem comes when I want to actually add the object dog to the display list (basically, I want to display an image of a dog if "puppy" is chosen).
I tried instantiating another Dict object
var displayObj:Dict = new Dict();
and then assigning it to the list an displaying it.
displayObj = dict[dictArray[i]];
bmc.addChild(displayObj);
but it doesn't do anything. It doesn't throw an error, it just doesn't work. And trace ("dict[dictArray[i]]") gives me [object Dict] not the specific object.
Does that make sense?
Is what I'm trying to do even possible?Yes! The class is Dict. dog is an extension of Dict. So is cat and flower and tree...etc. Each one is linked through actionscript to the Dict class into it's own custom class (dog, flower, cat, tree, etc).
The Dict class could not possibly be any simpler. It's just this:

A very interesting NOTE to this thread. In order to try and get the "ignore permissions" box to show up in GET INFO (so I could execute Matt the Magician's solution to file sharing issues)-- I ran the terminal command for disabling ACLs on my internal HD / start up disk (as indicated in the linked thread to BDAqua's forum).
Although I understand that this was useless for disabling permissions on the start up disk (as everyone here pointed out) and allowing me to see the "ignore permissions" check box - somehow it did seem to fix my file sharing problem...and that was the root problem I wanted solved in the first place! After doing the terminal command and a quick reboot, I went in and tested file sharing on the chosen directory and I can create new files or work from existing files in the directory, with both users being able to modify / and save from both machines and each machine sees the revisions and can build from them. Bottom line - I'm stoked and want to thank everyone for their help.
The only other tweak I made was going over to my wife's machine and instead of using her log in / password, I just used my name and password to connect to my main machine that was sharing directories. Maybe that's what fixed the problem or the ACL disable but either way...I'm up and running the way I want to be.
Hope this thread helps anyone else who has these file sharing / permissions issues with Leopard. Especially for anyone wanting to do such a simple file sharing set up between 2 computers. I wish I understood exactly which tweak fixed the problem, but at least it works the way I want now.

You have encounter Activation Lock, the antitheft feature of the iPhone. The previous owner did not remove the phone from their account. The phone cannot be used until they do. Return to the store and let them sort this out. It is very unusual for someone to "forget" to disable activation lock, as it is necessary to do so to erase personal information on the phone. So it is quite likely you bought a stolen phone.

iPhones sold by AT&T are never unlocked. Anyone who told you otherwise was wrong. Here are AT&T's official requirements and procedure for unlocking an iPhone:

I just got an apple at&t iphone 4 and I have it unlocked. But I want to connect it to t-mobile, so I trimmed my sim card and once the phone was unlocked I inserted the sim and it says no sim, activation error. What can I do to fix this? What is wrong?

I am trying to update CS5 through the CS5 application. I hit "updates" in the help menu. It goes through its series of updates and then says " There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later."
I have no idea what this means. Of course, I have retried this….but to no avail. Can somebody help me?Please do a forum search. I and others have repeatedly answered this question a whole bunch of times recently.
Bottom line: the Adobe auto updater is utterly useless in CS5 and prior versions. You need to download the updates and apply them manually yourself.

Try this.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -
I bought an app which was free. To get the full version I then paid for it. I used it for months and now it's saying I have not got the full version and I no longer have access to the full app like I used to.
Try contacting the app support of the particular app your using.
Most apps have an app support button on their app page within itunes.
If they wont reply within a reasonable amount of time and you feel like the particular app developer has cheated you, bring the issue forward to apple care.
Note that app developer have their own customer support. -

I just got a Mac and I use the same internet connection as my mom and my brother, who has an iPad. He can click on something that has my name and then Macbook Air, and is able to see everything on my computer screen. How do I fix this so he cant see what i am doing on my computer?
No, I made sure nothing was checked for that section when i found out he could see my screen. At the top it says "computers on your local network can access your computer at: blah blah". I think thats how hes doing it but i dont know how to fix it.

When I unpacked the computer, the hard drive did not include OS X either. Actually, it was completely blank. Did not even have a partition table! I have also had random problems with the machine not charging.
I have replaced the drive myself with an SSD after figuring the Apple Certified technicians were incompetent. Now even the SSD is starting to fail
I have bought an HP laptop and setup Ubuntu on it. Hope it turns out better than my previous four various Mac models. All have had various repeating hardware issues that Apple Certified technicians have been unable or unwilling to correct.
