I was scammed by a Verizon representitive into another 2yrs.
My name is Larry Torres Sr. One year ago I signed up for Verizon Fios. I have my TV, Internet, home phone, and cell phone all in one package. In order to seal the deal they offered one year of certain movie channels for a great price and told us after the year was up we could cancel the movies. We spoke with a rep named Francisco and told him we did not want the movie channels any more. He said fine he would remove them. I had my phone on the speaker so my wife could hear all the conversation between me and Francisco. Francisco was very polite and friendly. He told us he could save us some money with a different plan. My wife asked if there was another promotional bundle and he said yes. He told us what was available and we chose HBO bundle(this cost was $20) and our bill would stay about the same what we were paying, around $278. He told us it would be activated the following day. He gave us our verification number to confirm what we were getting and it would now be a new contract for 2 years. The next day we checked our movie channels and they were not working. We called Verizon Customer service and spoke with Roland. He then fixed the movie channels and we had to wait another day. Then our bill came and it say's we owe $323.65. We now have called again and now have spoken to a new rep named Linda. She was no help at all. Very unfriendly. She mainly said we had to pay this bill and have a good day. A GOOD DAY!!! I am very upset and have contacted Consumer Affairs about this issue. If I do not get this issue resolved I will be contacting any TV News station that will help me out. I hope I don't have to take such drastic measures but I will do what I have to do.

BEWARE: I was scammed and a Verizon tech support person was involved
Yesterday I tried to trace a package that Verizon shipped to me but when I went on the UPS web site and put in the tracking # I had I was told by UPS that they had no record of the #. I then called Verizon tech support. The person I was eventually connected to looked into the problem and told me that my computer had been compromised and had been hacked. He then directly connected me to a comapny (Mandatech) that he said was a Microsoft associate companyh and that they would take care of the problem for me. Mandatech took over my computer and, according to them, cleaned out all of the garbage and took care of the hacking problem. This service cost me $350 plus I bought a 1 year service contract to make sure I was never hacked again, this cost $300. At the end of the session Mandatech contacted Verizon and I was given the delivery information for my package. Today when I tried calling the support phone number for Mandatech I got a recording that said that the line was not in service. At this point I realized that I had been scammed. I contacted Verizon's frlaud department and was told that they would look into it but had no way of determining who the Verizon tech person was that connected me to Mandatechl and that Verizon had no responsibility to what happened to me. I also reported this incident to Microsoft and they are checking it out.
I find it incomprehensible that although it is obvious that the Verizon tech person was directly a part of the scam Verizon couldn't find out who the person was and took no responsibility for this action.Welcome to the forums. Unfortunately, it looks like you fell into one of the many methods scammers use to steal money. Scammers have figured out how they can get bogus phone numbers to turn up in search results. When you use those numbers, you end up calling the scamers instead of the company you really want. I'm guessing that you used a search engine to look up Verizon's support phone number. If you didn't call 1-800-VERIZON this is most likely what happened.
Verizon will never, ever ask you to pay money to fix a computer virus problem. They simply do not do that.
If you google "telephone tech support scams" you can learn a lot about how the scammes operate.
If I were you, I would immediately cancel the credit card used to pay the scammers and report it to your bank.
You should also find a local computer expert to help you remove any software the scammers installed on your computer. A complete system wipe may be the best course of action.

Is there anyone at verizon who can help? I was scammed!
Basically I called in to COMCAST to get my On Demand working and they talked me into buying a bundle. Part of which they said, I had to buy verizon wireless phones. I was told by this person that everything would come on my comcast bill and it would be about 167$ a month. Well I get my bill from comcast for almost 400 dollars and then one from verizon for 300. I went to comcast and verizon today. Comcast agreed to take 35 dollars off the bill, but that is it. And the employee at verizon refused to do anything what so ever to help. I will be honest, this has been a horrible month. My mom (who stays with me) was just diagnosed with lung cancer. It costs 40 bucks each time we see her doctor and 120 each chemo treatment. WE DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY FOR THIS. Is there anyone at verizon with a heart who could help? I don't know if the person who sold it works for both companies or what. But I was scammed. Comcast wont help anymore and a good hearted person at verizon is my only hope. We are basically getting the choice to either pay a phone bill or pay for my moms chemo. Obviously the answer is my mom. But having verizon work with me so there arn't major credit dings, would be a god send. I hate to beg, but please, someone help. I didn't know what else to do but post here. Sorry to sound melodramatic, but it is true. Please Help!

i tried to do a backup from my old iphone as i have a new one that was signed into another itunes account. it said i cant do it because the iphone rejected the request. how do i get around this? i have signed out of the old acct and into mine on the phone
What is the precise wording of the error message that occurs on the old iPhone when attempting to do a backup?

Images I move from one folder into another are disappearing, at first it was occurring immediately and only if I did not copy and paste the images. Today however I found out that images I had been using for days just up and vanished from their new location. A few of these images had copies in another folder that remained and the ones I couldn't find may or may not have ever had copies. I had backed up my system with time machine recently as well, so I went into the backup to retreive the lost images. When I searched and found the backup copies I got the error "the file alias cannot be opened because the original cannot be located". The crazy thing is that the images that remained on my computer did not give me the same error and opened like they should.
In short images that I am creating, saving, and using are disapearing so epically that even time machine versions are affected when retrieval is attempted. Any suggestions as to what I could be doing wrong without realizing it? Or perhaps other people have had similar bugs that are software related and have a solution?Hi Kevin,
I understand what you tried to do but it doesn't work that way. Swapping drive names will just mess things up.
You should be able to reconnect the files though: in the Locate Referenced Files dialog make sure you click the Show Reconnect Options button — this will give you access to all the connected drives. Locate one of the files and hit Reconnect All. Should do the trick.

Hey. I have received an iTunes gift card, so I was all excited, punching the code into the "redeem" option on iTunes on my iPad2; however, I kept on getting the alert, "This is not recognised as a valid code". It is very legible, though. How come?
The obvious answer I think is that maybe you are not entering the letters and numbers correctly. I almost never get it right the first time when I use a gift card.
Try entering the code again - slowly and methodically. If it still doesn't work - look here for help.

One final thought - if you are using a gift card that was purchased in another country - say like you have a Canada gift card and you live in the U.S. - that card will not work in the U.S. iTunes store. -
I reinstalled operating system software on my MacBook Air (Yosemite 10.10.3) and tried reinstalling Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro. I was able to install the software into my Applications folder but I was unable to enter the serial number or go any further with the installation. When I click on the Adobe Acrobat icon in the Applications folder, nothing happens.

Recently my contact card was changed to make my name into a vulgar statement. I only noticed this when I went to go send an email, and the incorrect name popped up. There is a SLIM chance someone hacked into my contacts since everything is password protected, but I guess I need to know if there is any way that a virus/hacker went into my contacts to mess with me. That seems unlikely as it was just my contact that was changed, but I still need to know. I recently updated my computer software to mountain lion, and I also updated software on my iphone. I was wondering if any of that might have made that change?
Your device was not hacked as it is not possible unless the device is jailbroken.
More likely someone has gained access to your iCloud account (assuming that is how contacts are synced to your device) and changed the information to mess with you. This could also have been done with physcial access to the device or even access to the computer if it is set to save passwords. -
My used postpaid moto g was accidentally activated on verizon while I was trying to activate it on the tracfone boyp program. The phone was activated on tracfone but I could not dial the number *22890 to finish the activation. The setup wizard on the moto g will only let you activate the phone on verizon. Had tracfone cs rep on my landline phone and was waiting for verizon rep on the moto g. Waited 20 minutes but verizon rep never answered.
How and where do I get help from verizon to deactivate the account and release my meid number. Also how do I bypass the setup wizard so that I can activate my phone on TRACFONE? Thank you.There's no other way to track it other than Find My iPhone. All you can do is wait to see if it ever goes back online. The serial number will only help to identify it as yours if it is ever found, and the IMEI number would only allow your carrier to blacklist the phone so it couldn't be reactivated on their network, if the carrier offers this service.

I received a link to a iTune movie trailer in an email. I clicked on "watch now" and then "play". I was told I need to download Quick Time, but when I clicked on download, I was told that QT is built into Mac OSX. How do I get QT to work?
When I hit the play icon the little arrow thing goes all the way over to the end of the file and doesn't play at all. What gives?
Is this a minimum information puzzle? It is difficult to diagnose a problem long distance when you provide little or no information regarding what actions you are actually taking to export the data or which version of iPhoto you are using. Based on your latest description of how it doesn't work, my best guess is that you are exporting a single frame from your video clip rather than the "Original" file. This is easily checked by opening the file in QT and simply pressing the left/right arrow keys. If the file only contains a single frame, then your export work flow is at fault. Please select the "File > Original" (or similar) option in the export menu to export the entire file in whatever version of iPhoto you are using.. -

i was scammed by Toshiba i owned a Toshiba satellite u840 x4310 Model No. PSU4SG-00N00X, Serial No. 6C048560W on 11-sep-2013, on very first day that latop had a battery backup of 5 minutes only. Then i taken it to toshiba retailer & asked the issue then he asked to changed the battery but i forced him to exchange the laptop then he exchanged, but in new one i'm facing BSOD error. when i checked the warranty online of this laptop its seems that i was expired on 7-Aug-2013. I do have a bill of this laptop of 11-Sep-2013. now i want my money back from Toshiba i would not relay toshiba

When I put a burned cd from one Mac into another Mac, song titles do not show up! I have to enter them manually! My CD player reads the titles that i on the cd; how can I get my Mac to do so?
The problem is that I burned these CD's myself from music that I added from my personal collection to iTunes. The INFO is ON the CD's (it appears perfectly when I put the CD in my Numark mixer...so I know the info is on the CD), but for some reason, my MAC PRO will NOT read the info on the burned CD when I place the CD into the MAC PRO. The CD was burned on a MAC that I no longer own. But there HAS to be a way to transfer songs from a burned CD with the INFO that is on the CD burned with iTunes.
