I'm at meltdown stage. I am so frustrated with the multiplicity of information when all I want is someone to talk me through my problem. I was talking to "Frank" and somehow I lost him and can't find the right page again. Why does it have to be so difficult?

Go to the genius bar. You've mucked up your MBP OS and it requires a hands on repair.

Big Mistake, I upgraded to OS X Mavericks this morning and now I have lost all my e-mail folders where I was saving important e-mails. I did a mailbox rebuild and it did not bring them back. Should not have upgraded?
I do not remember what version of OS it was. I have carbonite back up but I am not sure it backed up my e-mail.

I have found a temporary solution, allowing the previous version of iTunes (v. 11.1.3 (x64) in my case) to be re-installed. It will allow you to re-establish use of iTunes until the Apple software engineers fix the most recent disasterous upgrade (v. 11.1.4). The prompt to connect to iTunes is automatic, but not the restore process. You must manually select restore. There is no automatic restore.

Read the link I provided. Had you done so, you would know you do not have to re-purchase apps when re-downloaded.

Unless your contacts were synced with a supported address book app on your computer as designed and intended and your contacts were included with your computer's backup, or unless your contacts are available online with a free Apple iCloud account, with a free Yahoo account, or with a free Gmail account with all providing the ability to sync contacts over the air, your contacts are gone. -

Thanks but I've reinstalled V4 until V5 is stable and more or less working the way I want to work - not the way some programmer thinks I should want to work.
You know change is OK but only if it makes things better for the user Change shouldn't be made to make the developer feel good about his/her expertise. For me V4 was Good. V5 gives me too many issues to deal with - I just need a relatively simple browser (and I guess I'm not the only 1 out there that feels like this). -

It can't do that by itself. You had to click through several prompts telling it to restore it from a backup of an old phone for that to happen.
If the phone was not backed up to iCloud before this happened, or to another computer, then the data is gone. There is no way to recover it. -

You are referring to Photo Stream. Photo Stream syncs the photos taken with your device to all of your device.
It's not a photo storage service, so photos are deleted 30 days after being added to Photo Stream. You can't access to your Photo Stream photos from http://www.icloud.com, but only from an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch (using the Photos app), Mac (using iPhoto '11 or Aperture 3 with OS X Lion or Mountain Lion) or PC (with iCloud Control Panel).
In all of these devices, you have the option of copying them to the device, so they will be kept after 30 days -
